Yes you are right. A good days rest and a good days play.

Good thing I had some wood. (20) and the rest of the guys played well. I have some points to make up for. I hope the Braves can do the same.

Still money is tight so far this year. Values have to change.

Wow. Didn't take FS long to reference his wood. Braggart.

Taking a look at the rosters and the pitching choices today - AND taking into account the point spread from 1 to 8, there could be some major movement tonight.

A new season, a new time to brag! After all we have been told that it is GOOD To HAVE WOOD.

and Bethie says that movement is always good at night.

Oh, I can not wait to hear about her vist out west.

I understand about Boston, since you are a big Yankee fan, but why the animosity towards Houston?? [/b][/quote]Because I currently live in Texas & everyone's saying that Houston is going to the world series. I'm just gonna say this, HOUSTON IS OVERRATED! Until they do something to otherwise prove me wrong, let's not jump all on the bandwagon & give them the title just yet. I also dispise them b/c of Clemens & Petitte. I hope they land flat on their faces in the NL!

Definition of Scary: Your pitching staff is so bad that Shawn Estes is your opening day starter.

Colorado is in trouble.

I bet Crabby is following the Rockies though.

Crabby cannot follow the Rockies because apparently Maryland television stations never heard of Colorado. Buffy is seeing if I can catch them at a sports bar when I'm in her town.

I just noticed the Rockies have a pitcher named Javier Lopez? I hope Vinnie doesn't get drunk one night and forget which Javy he's playing with. That is too strange. That would be freaky if The Orioles ever played them.

Not bad. He's got that whole Kerry Wood vibe going.

Minnesota
-Bottom of the 14th inning
-J Jones walked.
-J Offerman doubled to deep right, J Jones to third.
-H Blanco flied out to left.
-C Guzman grounded into fielder's choice to first, J Jones out at home.

0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors

So, DB: Do we want to go for more innings and more points, and hope for the win later, or would we have rather wrapped it up here?

Some guys are never satisfied.

(Yep, I was watching that ninth inning very intently!)

A la Big Daddy Don, here's my hope for tonight...

I hope that my Woody goes strong and doesn't tire himself out in the first few minutes. I hope he saves enough energy out to last the whole time, about 3 hours or so. The last thing I would want is for Woody to go limp, although I heard Brew-skis can do that.

Pitching has made the difference already this season. Before today's games, here's the breakdown of scoring by offense and pitching (listed in order of pitching points accumulated).

(Player) - (Pitching Pts) - (Offensive Pts) - (Total)

PL...95...158...253
MC...59...102...161
IM...56...122...178
JG...55...155...210
DB...49...154...203
FS...38...121...159
LD...33...146...179
TM...11...100...111
SC...02...138...140

Looks like I have the kiss of death in my pitching picks this season

Way to go, Roger Clemens!!

A little bit of trivia in that game - it was the first time in Major League history that a pitcher with over 300 wins faced a hitter with over 600 home runs (Barry Bonds). (Clemens struck Bonds out twice).

Here's the breakdown between points earned by pitching/hitting updated to reflect yesterday's games:

(Player) - (Pitching Pts) - (Offensive Pts) - (Total) - (% Pts from Pitching)

PL...117...186...303...38.6%
JG...077...177...254...30.3%
MC...074...123...197...37.6%
IM...071...137...208...34.1%
DB...064...179...243...26.3%
LD...055...177...232...23.7%
SC...037...180...217...17.1%
FS...031...148...179...17.3%
TM...024...113...137...17.5%

Collectively, the average percentage of points earned from our pitching picks is 27.9%

Is there a doctor in the house?

Calling Dr. Moe. Calling Dr. Larry. Calling Dr. Curley.

Where's that noted psychiatrist, fathersson?

Just kidding, SC. Actually, figuring out that kind of stuff was my job last year. As a matter of fact, I was planning to post everyone's pitching W-L record and E.R.A. every Monday.

One of the things I hate about our fantasy basketball game is that you can't see the scoring summary for everyone else, which is kind of strange since both games follow the same format.

Maybe the reason why the two games are different is because basketball is actually run by nba.com while baseball is run by espn.com. Ever notice that you can't get to the other fantasy sports while you're on the Virtual GM basketball site? Maybe nba.com, for one reason or another, chose not to have that option when setting up the league format. Anyway, that's my theory.

Wow, only 2 of 9 share the same pitching staff. No need for ex-lax tonight... There should be a lot of movement.

Afternoon games sure to be watched closely...

Cubs (LD, FS) vs. Reds
White Sox vs. Yanks (JG)
Brew vs. Cards (MC)

No, I knew EXACTLY what I was doing. Or in retrospect, maybe not.

Did I mention I am playing in two fantasy baseball leagues this season? I may be spreading my time (and my luck!) a bit thin. I'm sure I can count on like a 50 point offense today, right?

I gotta look at it positively: #2, #3, #4 all gained on Plaw.

Right now, MC is wondering whether not playing at all would be better than picking a PS or not...

You're a bad, baaaaaad boy Pork.

Also, bad in the way you post my pathetic two Cubbies points for the world to see. Let me tell you, I am happy just to see positive digits. The 1st inning started out at -3 and never went above 0 till like the last inning!

And my weekend approaches. You know what THAT means. I will be going out of town too.

FS- notice I didn't call YOUR pitching points pathetic.....me, I should know better! :p

Man I screwed on points yesterday! I didn't fix my team yesterday so I only got 30 points.
