I'm not really rooting against you - it's more that I didn't want you to get too far ahead of the pack DB was telling me in a long string of PMs that he was gonna kick your butt big time. He even wished that LDV and I would, also, but I thought he was getting ahead of himself so early in the season. When he started talking about a Plaw voodoo doll he had made, it scared me so I put him on my block list.

Hopefully, the values will go up.
The lower the values, the less skill involved. Think of it this way: If all the values were really low, everyone could pick Pujols, Bonds, and a whole team of all-stars. We'd all be picking from the same group of 2 or 3 players at each position.
Higher values mean you have to know more about some of the lesser players, hence more skill (knowledge) required to do well.

Who said they were low?
JG was whining that they were too high.

Of course they're too high - it's not whining, it's a fact. These values are closer to their FALL values last year. Sure, there's more skill involved - and that's fine with me. But a month from now no one will be able to afford Pujols or Bonds, etc. Where's the fun in that, when the best and most exciting players in the game are out of reach? I'm NOT saying that everyone should start so low so anyone can build an All-Star Team, cuz that is NOT fun either. But to START the FIRST HALF with values so high -- when no one knows who's going to be the good players this year -- to me is ridiculous. And $5m for the lowest PS? And Yanks starting at $7m? These PS's are unproven in April, and values don't change fast enough to reflect that. If Yanks do well this year, will they cost $9m by the end of the First Half, so no one can use them? Not whining - it's fact. It happened last year, too, but not as bad as this. Soriano was totally unattainable last year. But sure, another Corey Patterson will show up soon enough...

I'd be crying about my offense, too, if I were you.
4 points in 18 AB's ain't nuthin' to be happy about. A day like today can kill the whole season. ------------------- Isn't that a shame!
