10 Things I Think I Think (ala Peter King) 1 - I can't pick offenses. Just can't. I think it's a genetic thing. 2 - Last Saturday's doubleheader fiasco reiterated that weather forecasters don't know a thing. All three games had 60% chance of rain (or up) all day and when you look at the Sportscenter hightlights, it was bright and sunny in Colorado and players were wearing short-sleeved jerseys. Huh?? 3 - I think Starbucks, Krispy Kreme and Google should merge and make the ultimate coffeehouse IPO. You can even stick in a Popeye's Chicken in there. 4 - The Anti-Montreal pick is the new Anti-Detroit pick. 5 - Bad Daddy has been conspicuously absent this week. He must have gotten two copies of Victoria Secret in the mail. :p 6 - The Cubbies have found a new way to lose games. Walk the bases loaded and (1) walk another for a walk-off walk or (2) allow a single for a winning run. Kyle Farnsworth can stick his puka (pronounced puke-ah) shells in his ear. 7 - Relatively soon, Google will make a couple of guys mega-billionaires. I'm pretty excited about its IPO - but all this hype for a company that makes just over $100 million in net income? 8 - How you doin' down there, Buffy?? :p By the way, so long John Stevens. 9 - Yorvit Torrealba is a cool name. Has "Alba" in the name which reminds me of Jessica Alba. [Insert Jessica Alba Emoticon here] 10 - Cubbies game on. Go Cubbies!

At least you can sing Actually, you're not doing too badly on offense, at least in comparison with almost ( :p ) everyone else -- 5th in total offense, and only 19 points out of 3rd. And if you didn't blow the doubleheaders Saturday....

You made a big move in basketball last night with Prince. 27 points. Now it's a three way race.
Of course, if they don't get everything corrected, we may not be able to count yesterday's scores....

The trick is to do your team in the day time, when (presumably) you're still sober. No such thing as "too much wine". I drink between 1/2 a bottle and a full bottle of red or sparkling almost every night. And if I'm not older than you, it's close. I let nothing interfere with my fantasy picks.

Hey Bad Daddy... as I was saying to Buffy yesterday - vote early, vote often for Jasmine. She's my cousin, you know! I told you Filipinos can sing! (Although I, like you, think that LaToya will win the whole thing and rightly so.) As for the "visitor spots" in Chicago... I'll get you the hook-ups. Back to bidness... Go Braves!

Thanks Geoff for pointing out the fact that I did well without the two extra guys playing. With the money I had to spend. and the crap that was playing Monday. I felt it was best to take the pass and pick the two guys who I wanted at that price level for Tuesday instead. As it was, those two guys went up .6 million on monday and after looking at the guys I would have jamed in there so that someone would have filled the roster. One didn't play and the other went hitless, so I didn't lose a thing. My big mistake was the three double headers and watching and listening to what the weather station said. Oh well. Other good thing is that I could leave my team for today and stay out and enjoy myself last night. And just so you know, we were over at the Lakeshore CC for what they call a Texas BBQ. Pee do you like BBQ? the Ribs were out of this world, the sausage was to die for and the rest of the food was the best around. Service was top notch and the bar was open and FREE. You love that word don't you. FREE

Let's take a few of these, one at a time: Originally posted by MaryCas: Pl, how do you like Australian Shiraz. My daily wine is Yellow Tail Shiraz. Amazing coincidence! Last night I went over to the ex-wife's house to watch the Nets game with my son. I certainly don't expect her to feed me - she barely did when we were married - so I went to the local gourmet deli for some chicken. I don't expect her to offer me any of her wine, either, so I stopped at the local liquor store which doesn't have much of a selection. I'd had the Yellow Tail before and that was all the store had that I considered to be drinkable and not too much of a rip-off. They had the Cab, Merlot, and Shiraz. I got the Shiraz, $9.20 + tax. Pretty good for the price, I'd say. Austrailian wines are still undervalued compared to California and France. I'm mostly a Zinfandel guy, though. I like that extra 2% or so of alchohol. Makes a big difference. If you like Zin, try the Clines. About ten bucks. My first live baseball game was at Yankee Stadium when I was ?? old. Art Ditmar pitched. Yogi had the day off. They played the Senators. Mine was Ebbets Field, probably around 1954. I grew up around the corner, and could hear the crowd noise from my bedroom window. They played the Cardinals. I remember that, because my dad made a point about noting Stan Musial's unusual batting stance. My first game at Yankee Stadium, was, I believe, the last game of the 1960 season against Kansas City. I must be doing something wrong with this game. Just by random dumb luck I should get 60 pts. one day.??? You did. Twice. 3/31, the second day of the season you got 62. That wasn't really luck, though. You just loaded up on Yankees and Kevin Brown and they scored 13 runs. You also got a 68 on April 25th. That was probably dumb luck. :p How come they give you possible DH's in the National League? There aren't too many. Mostly 4th outfielders without a true outfield position, or utility infielders, but guys who a shot to play and get maybe 200-300 at bats. Anyway, I think I asked you this once: Did you ever check out Sunnyside Pizza on Route 17 in Sloatsburg?

One spot says: 5 teams for $70.00 or so. I can't tell if we can split the five teams among us or not. Otherwise it looks like $30.00 a team to play.
Please, let me know if you see anything else. (The above from the last page of last year's Fantasy Baseball thread) I love barbecue, BTW. You're upstate, right? My ex went to school in Oneonta, and they had this company that traveled around and set up a whole BBQ pit at carnivals and fairs, and did private catering also. The cooked the food and served it, and it was great. I forgot their name, though. Was that them?

Since mindless rants are all the rave (Gosh how I MISS day games! ) I'll put in my 2 cents: 1) I can't pick a ps to save my life!! can probably attest to that as of the other night we both had the Dodgers exclusively and got like 11 points . Bet all that grass mowing and flower planting keeps you slim and trim, eh? 10) When is the All-Star break already???? I need to start this game over. Y'all gonna forget what I look like with so many basement cobwebs all over me!!!
I have a tendency to wear my heart on my sleeve - I have a history of taking off my shirt.....
