My most recent blonde moment:

I'm at this cantina last night celebrating Cinco De Mayo ....

(ok, so not REALLY celebrating, just HAPPENED to be at the cantina on the 5th of May )

and I make sure I get the seat next to the TV and I'm watching scores scroll across the bottom during the CWS game and I think daaaamn, Dodgers got two runs against them, oh well, coulda been worse.

ALL NIGHT I am thinking my game was over. I get home and turn on the tube and there he is - the poo-man - Kevin Brown himself. Yeah, I guess I knew he was a YankMe - old habits die hard. And knowing I picked LA today, I was a bit confused.

Of course the fact that the YankMe's garnered me 3 more pitching points than the Dodgers really made me sleep better last night!!!

btw, I LOVE afternoon games!! If they ever move me out of my private office, I will PROTEST like nobody's business!

Believe me, THAT thought ran through my mind for a flash too!! Knowing SOME people picked FLA and I couldn't remember who was pitching. I KNEW it was someone with no *WOOD* or *JOHNSON* in his name. Penny....can't have any fun with THAT! :p

Bad Daddy is probably pretty happy w/ the Houston bullpen right now. Only 2 runs in the 9th, no big deal... (Wait, did I just curse myself saying that? Probably...)

Nah, it's more like empathy. It'd be cold if my PS beat his in points, but that ain't gonna happen...

And Douchey, you're Cubs better not blow this 11-3 lead in the 9th! (Great, another jinx) :p

SC had the exact same pitching line 2 days in a row:

9 IP, 2 ER, 5 Hits, 11 K's, 3 BB's, Win, 29 Pts.

whoa DB!! Look at your Cubbies go! That was a heck of a 2nd and 3rd inning!

What, we have no Cubbies in our lineup today? Usually I have at least 2 or 3...

Yes, Pork...FINALLY!

Gosh offense has never really been my problem now, has it? I score 47 points in offense tonight - WITHOUT a first baseman (how funny if I had taken my guy Eric Karros - he decided to UN-SLUMP tonight and make 9 points! ) but I can't pick a pitching crew to save my life!

What a night for me to have taken the Dodgers. No, I always take them when they allow a buncha runs and then count on Gagne to get the "W".

I really am CURSED!!

Hey, Buffy was part of history! And not just 15 ER and a W....

Rangers and Tigers score 18 runs in fifth, one short of record for inning

May 8, 2004

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Detroit and Texas combined for 18 runs in the fifth inning Saturday night, one short of the major league record for runs in any inning.

There were 100 pitches in the inning, which lasted 1 hour, 8 minutes and became the highest-scoring fifth inning in major league history. Detroit scored eight runs in the top half for a 14-4 lead, and the Rangers scored 10 runs in the bottom half, which lasted 36 minutes.

Previously, the record for runs in a fifth inning was 16 on Aug. 3, 1986, by the New York Yankees (10) and the Cleveland Indians (6). The major league record for runs in any inning is 19, by Cleveland (13) and Boston (6) in the eighth inning on April 10, 1977.

About 3 am this morning I turn on Sportscenter for the first time ALL DAY and about fell to the floor when I saw the Texas score. Again, my decent offensive picks keep me from TOTALLY being in the shitter with a negative score. Oh man, I DO know how to pick 'em!

The BAD news is I never had a chance to do a new lineup for today. Alas, I had to let my crummy Texas choice and the other oh-ffensive picks ride today.

Hey, how much worse COULD it be for me?????

Wait....don't answer that. :p

Pitching didn't give us much today. I guess I am lucky to get 18 points from them. The best today.

With the exception of DB, all our offenses were incredibly close yesterday. VERY strange, considering all the choices (of offensive players) we had.

Yesterday's Offensive Totals

DB 34
BD 19
JG 20
FS 19
