Note to all of you "Salary Cap Watchers":
Listen guys, some strategy advice: Giving up offensive opportunities to keep guys who aren't playing because you think their cap value is going to increase is not the way to play this game. Maybe one player, if he's really good and really cheap, but not more, and certainly not a whole team.
Two Reasons:
1) Over the course of the season (18 weeks, one day off every two weeks, 9 days off per player times 9 players) do it 80 times, and you're giving up maybe 240 points. Yeah, I know...maybe less. But maybe more. You may get back some of those points because, theoretically at least, you have a stronger team, but not enough to make it pay. Picking an offense, I believe, is about half luck anyway. And as the season progresses, there are always plenty of cheap guys to pick who are hot.
2) What's gonna happen the first time you have to change your Pitching Staff to a higher priced one? You may have to start getting rid of some of those cheap players anyway to make your new PS fit the cap, so what was the point?
If you don't beieve me, check the Leaderboard. See how many of the people in this game who are at or near the top play it this way.
Now, FS is gonna say that I sound like a know-it-all, and I should leave everyone alone and let them play the way they want to, and for some of you it's just for fun, and blah blah blah.
Well, maybe he's right. So the above doesn't apply to him. He played last year, and if he wants to be stubborn and give himself no chance to win, that's his business.
But Irish & Mary, trust me on this. I'm just trying to help. I want the game to be as competitive as possible, which means as many participants as possible, which means no one loses interest because they are too far out of it to have a chance, which means try to help everyone score as high as possible.

Wow, we didn't hear from you all weekend and now this! Hey, don't pick on me I didn't say a word! Maybe we were all to lazy to change our teams?

10 Things I Think I Think (ala Peter King) 1 - Nice to see my offense finally coming around. 2 - I would agree with plaw that you have to play "eligible" players everyday. The proof is in the pudding - just look at the leaderboard, not ours, but the universal ESPN leaderboard. 3 - No clear cut choices for PS tomorrow, at least for me. The PS for today with just 6 to choose from sucked. 4 - Boston Rob should have won that million. Amber rode on his coattails. She was involved in the decision making?? She couldn't even decide who to give a car to last night, without consulting with Boston Rob first. Lex and crew just sounded like a bunch of sore losers. You got played - admit it! 5 - With that said, Amber deserves the million just for being hot. 6 - Buffy, you still OK down there?? Nice to see that your PS choice made major league history this weekend! :p 7 - Cubbies had a really nice win yesterday. Bullpen still a little shaky though. 8 - One of the kiddies will be out this week in American Idol. I'm hoping it will be Diana, but it will probably be Jasmine. Here's another thought... Are these live shows being shown live in the West Coast or Hawaii? If it's tape delayed, wouldn't that give west coasters and Hawaiians more time to vote? 9 - Now that pitchers have a few more games under their belt, it's easier to pick the Catcher position now. 10 - I think MC just forgot to change his team. Rookie! :p

I don't want to get TOO comfortable! :p I was pulling for Boston Rob. But alas, he has it wicked haaaad for Amber. Schmuck. Like that union will last  Best moment last night, Jerri getting booed and leaving the show. Miss Manipulative Biyatch herself. And thanks to you DB, I now know it is Colby in those Schick commercials I like so much. Why then, did he have so much stubble last night? No day games today, guess I will work like a dog and get caught up. If Bethie doesn't heal that leg soon, I will be carting her around in a wheelchair in 2 weeks and that will totally suck! Gosh Bethie, there ARE better ways of getting out of working! :p

Yeah, tonight should be interesting. I didn't really WANT Kim, and now that I see Buffy picked him, 5 of us are screwed!! :p PL vs DB (Mutts vs Ariz) - Only one of yooz can get the W tonight. Which SP Mutt was listed as Probable for today -- I don't think it was AAA James Baldwin who was just called up... As for my no DH today - there was no one better for $2.9 or less than the non-playing Sierra I already had there for $2.6. I put the $ elsewhere and am just hoping for the best... As for the rest of the "Salary Cap Watching" - I think because of Mothers Day, some people had less time to think about their rosters. Who cares about Survivor? :p And again within 24 hours, when I saw "No DH" after my name for today, I thought I missed a double header for a second!

WHY THE %$@# isn't Manny in the starting lineup tonight? No big deal for us, I guess -- everyone (who's playing) except LD and FS had him today... ALTHO it would've helped Kim out Edit: I heard he's in Miami getting his U.S. citizenship. What? He couldn't wait for an off day?? I wonder if that's true...

When I first picked my team Sunday morning, they had Seo listed. Later I heard on WFAN that they called up Baldwin, and he would pitch. The Mets announcers made such a big friggin' deal about how great he was pitching in the minors (3-2, 2.90), that I figured given the poor other choices, Arizona's slump, and the cheap price, I'd just stick with the Muuts. Hence, my Buffy-esque pitching total. Actually, I believe yesterday was my worst day ever since we started playing this game. As if anyone cares....
