That was a pretty insignificant number. You got it half right. The number was my lucky number '5'.

I have a baaaaad feelin' about this ChiSox PS all of a sudden. Schoeneweis was supposed to pitch the second game as of last night's press release. Now we have a debut of our own? I wasn't all that confident in Garland in Game 1 as it was... this could get really ugly!

Sure hope Schilling doesn't get Schillacked tonight

Pork, I saw last night that a rookie was pitching one game for WS and ANOTHER rookie was pitching a game for Baltimore. It was a train wreck at best trying to decide what to do. But of course, a high scoring game with Baltimore winning is the recipe for a successful day for me. Speaking of recipes, have something with a citrus flava!!

Of course, I had to get rid of my INITIAL lineup I had....you know, the one I gave you with the players with * thingys next to them? :p Bummer, huh?

BTW - I was quite happy w/ my team yesterday, before these D-H's. (I figure if I keep whining, it'll turn out okay. But then again, I just reversed-jinxed myself. But that reverse-jinx was intentional, so it'll turn into a positive. But just saying that, I jinxed myself).

And as far as players I hope that do exceptionally well go, those would include the players I share with those below me: they'd gain no ground on me, but, I'd gain ground on those above me. Capisce?

I capisce.

Just my luck the bottom 3 would end up with the same pitching today. I just HAVE to have a good offensive day and burn rubber leaving the rookies in the dust, and hope to nip the heels of FS and SC in the very near future.

True, but if I had to list all the players that each of us hope do exceptionally well - taking into account standings - that would take a long time!

Just curious, for those with DH pitching staffs, what PS staff would you have chosen otherwise?

If you think this will reveal any strategy, don't answer.

Well, I have to look at the potential (even though there's a potential for double disaster ) -- it's a gamble either way.

A PS can get a W but win 15-14, and a PS can also get a loss, but lose 0-1. I'd rather have two losses combining 0-2 than two W's combining 30-28

We'll see... All I know is, neither of us have Buffy's pick

I was tossing Schill and Peavy back and forth: I probably would've gone w/ Padres. I'm surprised none of the 4 took them. But Schill's not a bad bet either (even though Schill gave up 7 ERs to Toronto last time :p )

Heeeeeeeeyyyyyy now!! Was that supposed to be funny???

Like anyone is going to take MY pitching strategies to heart, DB, but my initial roster before the DH was Zambrano and the Scrubbies.

Only time will tell if I spend the better part of the late afternoon kicking myself. I mean, don't I suffer enough? I have to torture myself with the woulda/shoulda/couldas.

If y'all want, I can tell you my pick for tomorrow so you all can run, run for your lives!!!

Know what's funny? I never even thought about Schilling.

It was squarely between Padres and Cubs. Weird though, EVERY time I have ever bet against the Reds, I have suffered.

What was harder for me was to bet against my Dodgers. But I just HOPED it would be a low scoring game for LA. Thought maybe at worst, Cubs could keep them at 2.

Why Schilling at the last hour? Simple. Everytime I have taken him, he has sucked. Everytime I have not taken him, he has shined. I am hoping he was not paying attention and that I am "due"....

I have probably jinxed our rookies good.

Magglio Ordonez not in the lineup for the first game.

But since the top three all have him, BFD

And it begins... 1 ER already in the first inning of 18... Gonna be a loooong day!

I will have to go out in about an hour and a half and won't be able to come up with the total PS score for Game 1 before Game 2 begins. If someone can do that after the W has been assigned for Game 1, that'd be great - or, I'll just calculate from the box score when I get back...

I may be wishing I hadn't known about these D-H's... two of my "regulars" (JD Drew and Sierra) both hit HRs so far today...

You can pretty much count on Catchers only playing one game though.....

Mack is a scrub for sure, doesn't even play every game, I was unsure taking him but well, you know money and all (or lack of it, thank you Big Hurt... )

I was at Applebee's at lunch with a friend. Peeked in the bar and saw them putting a tarp on a field. I hurtled over about 30 people to see if one of MY games was getting rained out.

Not an easy feat in a skirt and 3 inch heels!!
Fortunately, noone was injured....

And funny considering my attendence to many a Rockies game, I didn't even know who Greene was!!

Only Greene I am familiar with is Shawn!!

Strategy? Ha! No worries. No would ever listen to MY strategy tips. I am the Tokoyo Rose of Fantasy Baseball. My lips move but noone takes any merit in what I am saying.

That will all change when and IF I ever get back up to my cushy 3rd place berth....
