What is really ironic? DB told me in a PM that he is taking back what is his (first place) tonight and doesn't plan on giving it back. Said he had a slip because of some birthday celebrating, said him and a few other of his financial co-workers went down to the stock Exchange to watch the numbers change. Such the life. :p He says this year he will be the first champion of both halves. Don't let that bother you though - you are #1 in Bass Fishing.

And not that anyone cares but I have been changing my roster while I could - my point total would place me at 4th place overall. The new work responsibilites with my job really starts next Wednesday so I may have jumped the gun a bit on retiring by a few weeks. Oh well.

Thoughts on last night's finale (I had it taped, but I didn't check my tape and it only taped half)

- Fantasia's performance the night before, especially on the last song, was great.

- How much did they pay Jennifer Love Hewitt to come out of hiding? Took the twins for a walk.

- I did see Camille and Jasmine. You know, those two make me feel like an old uncle. Jasmine makes me feel like the proud old uncle. Camille makes me feel like the dirty old uncle. And yes - they were singing happy birthday to me.

- I don't think Camille sounded horrible. I just think she doesn't know how to sing into a microphone. She has some sort of projecting problem.

- Paula Abdul also took the twins out for a walk.

- And now, here's Clay Aiken with the counter guy from the Greensboro 7-11 who once sold Fantasia a Diet Pepsi... :rolleyes:

- Kelly Clarkson looks like the hot girl from Shallow Hal.

TIVO rocks - I have two of them, doesn't sound like it does much but once you get it you can't imagine not having it.

For AI, I missed the entire first hour although I don't really think I missed much. I did see Reuben and Kelly - Kelly did look a bit hotter than the past, Ruben looked like well he looked like Ruben :rolleyes: , still no personality - they Ruben, Kelly, Fantasia and Diana sung The Impossible Dream. Then all this year's 12 finalists sung a big medley to all the guest judges, that was painful in spots but seeing JPL and Matt again - uggh the men on the show were brutal. Guess they were ramping up for the big AI tour this summer - better hurry up and order your tickets now. Fantasia sung that I Believe song I think twice and Diana sung it once - ok so I am already sick of that song - five times in two nights. Diana was a gracious loser - I was hoping to see a cat fight or something.

And I hear you about Paula bringing out the twins it is just a shame she has to talk though.

Basically you missed very little - but still no excuse for not getting TIVO.

They had Jennifer Love Hewitt introducing acts at the outdoor concert (LaToya, George, Jasmine) and some girl from a past AI who interviewed B-celebrities (I don't know what she asked because I fast-forwarded). You got Seacrest interviewing Diana, who was surprised by having a TV showing her a live feed into the Georgia Dome where some past AI contestant interviewed the gov of georgia (later on she interviews Diana's choir teacher). Same treatment for Fantasia (Clay interviews mayor of her hometown and later on interviews the county commissioner). Seacrest goes on to interview the judges.

And that's about it...

Hit batsmen should have the same positive/negative effect on offense/pitching as a walk.

Offensively, it's certainly somewhat of an art, and the same players have the highest HBP total very year.

From a pitching POV, it's something negative that the pitcher has complete control of, so he should certainly lose a point.

And if I lose this game by one point at season'e end, it will be because Derek Jeter was hit by a pitch on what would have been ball four. So instead of getting a point for the BB, he gets nothing.

First off, you mean "WHINE ALERT".

Secondly, apparently the pitcher doesn't have "complete control of" a wild pitch otherwise he wouldn't have hit the batter. Tho, sometimes it is purposeful, for retaliation; but in this case, I have no idea whether it was or not cuz I didn't watch the whole game. If it was intentional, I do agree it should be -1 like a walk.

Anyway - You're bitching and whining about a potential one point rather than taking responsibility for your piss-poor offense for the day (except for the LUCKY Tony Clark and Jeter picks)?
