Oh, great. Now the Don and his Consgliere are both against me . (I was at the Borgata today, BTW. Never saw such a crowded casino in my life. Had to wait over an hour to get a seat in a poker game. Pulled a straight flush to win a big pot, and still came out losing for the day.)

Of course, it obviously does me absolutely not a bit of good this year. I'm the slumpin' Jeter of these boards.

Monday Looks like the official scorers at ESPN screwed Schmidt of 3 points. That let's you non-congratulators off the hook for another day. And SC remains in 4th.

Now that we're halfway through the First Half I thought it'd be interesting to see how consistent we were in our standing positions. Below represents our rank in the standings, for that week.
Week 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
DB 2 1 2 3 1 1 1 2
PL 1 4 4 1 2 2 2 3
JG 3 3 5 2 5 4 5 1
SC 6 5 1 8 3 3 8 4
FS 5 2 3 7 4 6 7 5
LD 4 7 8 4 7 5 3 6
MC 8 8 6 6 8 8 4 7 DB and MC have been the most consistent overall (each tying 4 weeks out of the 8 in their overall spots). SC and LD have been the most inconsistent in relation to their overall spots.

Looks like LA vs Atl... (And don't worry, Buffy - I won't bring up the nervousness that I'm feeling because you picked the same PS as I did -- I wouldn't be so insensitive! ) EDIT: Hey, not so bad, Buffy! P.S. I've been getting really nervous about FS, creaping up slowly but surely like he has been. I feel like I'm playing against UU again! :p

Pulllleeeze, SC - I have a decent day and am semi-excited I picked Sean Casey and didn't see a hyphen (-) in front of my pitching score BUT---- Didn't matter much today. I needed a day like today when everyone else tanked. So Curse Alert - I took the Dodgers tomorrow. There is your fair warning. Now y'all don't have an excuse to pick on me. Run, run for the hills, hide your grandmothers and assume the crash position. This cheese is used to standing alone.

He also has a lower ERA. I must have a lot more K's, and given up less hits and walks. 4 - After PS, I spend the most time picking catcher. 5 - I am in a rotisserie fantasy baseball league where I am currently 7th out of 12 people. My roster looks like an infirmary. I have 6 people on the DL with only two DL spots available. Ugggh. 6 - I am currently reading The Sicilian right now. Really good so far. 7 - My first trip to Las Vegas next week. I'm really looking forward to it. 8 - Mark Prior coming back from DL. Now the Cubs season begins. 9 - Anybody make any foolish holiday weekend purchases? Unfortunately, I didn't - although I was giving a particular plasma screen a really long look. 10 - To Buffy and Crabby, welcome back to the land of the living! Hope you two didn't give any pool boys a hard time (like you said you were going to!)

I can tell you that because of rainouts, extra innings, DHs, etc., you have four more innings pitched than I do. There's 12 points right there. 4 - After PS, I spend the most time picking catcher. Picking the PS is usually easy for me. So is catcher. (I know you won't spend much time on tomorrow's). It's picking a team that fits in under the cap after picking a PS.

Funny, DB...I went to check the scoring summary for our pitching, and discovered that including yesterday you have 39 wins, not 40. I guess I credited you with a win somewhere that was actually a loss. Anyway, here's the breakdown:
PL DB PL Pts. DB Pts.
Innings Pitched 588 592 1764 1776
Strikeouts 426 469 426 469
Wins 38 39 190 195
Total Positive Points 2380 2440
Earned Runs Allowed 218 229 -654 -687
Hits Allowed 526 530 -526 -530
Walks Allowed 178 171 -178 -171
Total Negative Points -1358 -1388
Total Points 1022 1052 N.B. Our totals don't match the summary I posted on the other page because the totals above include yesterday.

Us, give pool boys a hard time? Surely you jest. There were some men at pool, but it was billiards, not the dunking kind. But they all lived to tell about it. I think New Mexico is just cleaning up from it's visit from "The big city girl with the thick Baltimore accent". At least that's what a couple of people we met at a bar told me. They were from the Maryland/DC area and when I told them I was from Balimore they just said, "No shit, we can tell by your accent. Pronounce water, pronounce park". I was dumfounded. I gotta look up in some book exactly what the "Thick Baltimore accent" is. And btw..it's pronounced war-ter, not wah-ter. :p The one crazy thing I did was get a naval ring. As the kiddies would say, "I got an owie on my belly. Anyone want to kiss my boo-boo.
