I may just shoot myself if Moyer fucks me over tonight! Afraid to even watch ESPN, tho at least there's a Sopranos break soon Hmm... extra innings, or the W in the bottom of the 9th? I'll be happy with the W. WOW! A free gift! Thanks, Koch!!

PITCHING STATS LAST WEEK SEASON OFFENSE
PL 3201 5-2 1.91 144 42-28 3.21 1132(2) 2069(1)
DB 3108 6-1 3.37 124 44-26 3.50 1144(1) 1964(3)
JG 2856 6-1 5.06 79 34-35 3.99 884(3) 1972(2)
FS 2559 3-4 2.76 107 32-38 4.11 794(4) 1765(5)
LD 2522 4-3 2.77 126 26-42 4.57 629(7) 1893(4)
SC 2520 4-3 3.92 92 31-34 4.27 758(5) 1762(6)
MC 2226 5-2 3.55 97 30-34 4.14 727(6) 1499(7)
Since doubleheader loss by Cubs to Pirates, PL has gone 7-2 for 200 Pts (22.2 PPG), with a 1.93 ERA Over same span (since he lost DH with Cubs PS), DB has gone 8-1, but for only 166 Pts (18.4 PPG) because of a 3.62 ERA. JG has won 5 in a row, but for only 51 points because of a 5.40 ERA in those matchups. When FS picks the winning team, he's great, with a miniscule ERA of 0.96 in his last 6 wins, good for 174 Pts (29.0 PPG). But with his last seven losers he's been -12, with a robust 6.41 ERA. LD had her first sub 3.00 ERA week of the season, helped by her three losses in which she gained 32 Pts (10.7 PPG per loss ), with an ERA of only 3.81 Since his 5-0 streak two weeks ago, good for 136 Pts (27.2 PPG) with a 1.60 ERA, SC has slumped, going 4-4 in his last 8 games, for only 85 Pts (10.7 PPG), with a 4.37 ERA. Another one in the all or nothing at all mode, MC has gained 249 Pts in his last 12 wins (20.8 PPG) with a solid ERA of 2.17, but has been -18 in his last 7 losses, with an ERA of 7.02.

10 Things I Think I Think (ala Peter King) 1 - Sorry I've been out of commission this past week or so, guys. Work/life has been hectic these past couple of weeks/months/year or so! And I may not be around this week, depending if I go to Vegas. 2 - I liked your idea Plaw about having different values for different pitchers. It makes the game an even bigger gamble. It's like playing basketball and choosing not to play Kevin Garnett to spend on the other positions. 3 - I really liked your idea about closers. Instead of wins and innings, they can keep track of saves. 4 - Mark Prior was unbelievable. Too bad the friggin' bullpen blew it. Borowski was put on the DL with a strained shoulder. I think his disability is pitching. 5 - I usually don't talk politics, but I wanted to send an RIP to President Reagan. My perspective is one of an immigrant. I came to the U.S. when I was barely 5 years old, and America to me was the land of opportunity, where life was going to be better than where we came from. It was the most powerful nation in the world, and President Reagan was the most powerful man in the world. For a five year old, that gives rise to much respect and admiration. I have since grown disillusioned by politics, especially recently as I work to pass a bill in a year rampant with election year politics, but President Reagan remains on that pedastal. A COUPLE OF MY OWN SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE THIS GAME BETTER 6 - When I click on someone else's team, I wish it would go straight to their performance that day instead of going to an intermediary page. 7 - HBP should be scored similarly to walks. 8 - Yep, plaw, I picked Texas. [Insert Crabby one-liner "DB's all alone with his Dickey." 9 - Detroit in 4. Go Pistons! 10 - Well, like I said, I hope to be around more this week. And if I'm not, that means I made it to Vegas! Hey plaw, they got TV-internet at the Aladdin?

I'd score the closer the exact same way I'd score a starter, with maybe 1 point for a save and -2 for a blown save. So a perect inning with one strikeout and the save would be worth 5 points. Seems about right, but then they would have to change the whole salary cap, which they should anyway. Offensive Players: 2.0 to 8.5, average of 5.25 Starting Pitchers: 12.0 to 30.0, average of 21.00 Closer: 3.0 to 6.0, average of 4.5 Then I would simply increase the salary cap to 75, which would mean that typically you might spend 1/3 of your cap room on pitching, and get 1/3 of your points. Spend less or more, and figure on adjusting the percentages accordingly, just like what happens now. Yep, plaw, I picked Texas. First JG picks a PS at Colorado. OK, it was Schmidt, but still..... Now DB picks the Texas PS, at Texas, no less. My faith in humanity is shaken. Kerry Wood Woody Williams Big Unit Johnson Rich Harden R.A. Dickey Did I forget anyone? Hey plaw, they got TV-internet at the Aladdin? Have you ever used TV internet? No mouse, so it's a real pain in the ass to do a team. A lot of what would be clicking has to be done by moving the cursor around with the arrow keys and then hitting enter. Takes forever.

Can't really say that about DB's pick, tho: Dickey: 2004 Record: 4-5, 4.80 2004 ERA at home: 6.03 Career ERA: 5.09 3-YR ERA at home: 5.14 3-YR ERA at night: 4.24 (better than day, 9.11!) 3-YR JUNE ERA: 8.64 (his worst month by far) Has never faced any Pittsburgh batters Texas: (not too bad) 2004 Record: 30-24 2004 at home: 16-9 Pitts: 2004 Record: 24-29 2004 on road: 15-11 Too many numbers, my brain is going soft. I gotta worry about tomorrow first! I like interleague play, but it sure doesn't make this game any easier... DB, are you keeping Jokin' Ben-Wa (Balls) for tomorrow?

Can't really say that about DB's pick, tho Right. So what do you figure? Going a little soft in the head from too much work? Too much fantasy playing? Gee. He was such a nice guy. What a shame, going off the deep end like that with no warning or anything....

Wouldn't it be funny if DB kicked all our butts with his Dickey? It would serve you right for making fun of his....well, nevermind. Hey Pork...we're sharing a brain again? Of course the Oakland Express but we're sharing five, count 'em FIVE offensive players?????? I wish you the BEST of luck with those players!!!

Did anyone notice I placed 2nd overall in Week 9? . . No? . . . Anyone? . . . Why not? Speaking of Dickey...he has that pitch he does which he refers to as "The Thing"..... hmmm, so many jokes, so little time.

I did! I did! I've never lost confidence in you. Remember, I picked you to finish 3rd. Catching JG in the first half may be too big a hill for you to climb, but I think this first half-second half stuff is a lotta crapola anyway. Overall total is all that should count. I still have confidence in you.

I figure I semi-dodged a bullet yesterday. Five of my offensive players (Melhouse, Lamb, Pujols, Hollandsworth, Grissom) don't start, the guy in second gets a decent 19 in pitching and 47 pts worth of offense, and I only lose 20 points on the day. Let's go Orioles...

Uh-Oh...interesting. San Fran vs. Yanks could determine alot today. First place could distance well from 2nd OR we COULD have a new 1st placer with a REALLY good night. Still a good span of points there. But the other three - not a huge span of points. I could find myself in 4th if I am lucky OR I could get passed up by SC and find myself at 6th again. DB - if there was ever a time we needed to link arms and be together in this thing - THIS is it! GO YANKS! GIANTS !
