Got a 10-pack of those Al Capone Sweets (Cognac-dipped cigarillos) -- pretty cool for those times you can't smoke

Anyway - guess I'll do the honors...

A few weird looking rosters there....

It should be a real "Anything Can Happen" Day.

I laughed at DB for picking Texas in a single game.

I really wanted the Mont PS, but didn't like any offensive team I came up with for them. I also wanted Kendall figuring he would catch one game, and might DH the other.

Hopefully someone will do the lineup breakdown before I get up tomorrow -- I'm way too tired/lazy right now!

OMG!!

You should see my transaction log!

I had my roster all set for today by noon yesterday.

15 minutes before quittin' time, I see the Mon/KC DH and think ...eeeew! So I tweak and adjust then but decide not to take any PS. I already had Johnson and Rivera of Montreal on my roster so I just added a few KC's and kept my PS as LA.

(That's right, ...Ishii on the road )

Then the 2nd rainout gets announced early in the evening. My home computer is whacked out, I drive to the office which is luckily a whole 2 minutes away and tweak and adjust some more. I am just soooo nervous about taking ANY of the 4 teams involved because for some reason, I just have this vision of -50 pitching points in my head. So I keep Ishii and stack my off players with DH.

I run errands, go home, watch some tv and I am unsettled so before I go to bed, I tweak and adjust SOME MORE and decide something is just pulling me to pick Texas. (I figured Pork was gonna pick his pal Reyes after what he did for him LAST time! )

THEN - I realize I have no Pitts players on my roster to offset the TX PS, but at this point it is late and I dont care.

So no matter what happens today, you will see, in my world - on this particular day - APATHY RULES!

What do y'all think about the BPC now???????

Your transaction log? Take a look at mine for the last few days.

When the Texas-Pitts game was rained out on Tuesday, they said it was rescheduled for Thursday.

Not only did I not realize that Thursday was an open date and there would be only one game, for some reason I thought there would be a Texas-Pitts DH on Wednesday .

So my original Wednesday team was loaded with Tex-Pitts guys. When I awoke in the middle of the night (actually early Wednesday morning), by some gift of God I realized thatt there was no Texas-Pitts DH on Wednesday, and hurriedly changed my entire roster. Look at the times on my transaction log. I barely got done before the deadline, and it's a good thing I did, since with the rainout on Wednesday I would have wound up with a big fat zero for the day.

As it was, I didn't do so great yesterday because I didn't really have the time to look at the things I normally do when selecting an offense.

I wondered if there would be anyone who thought the FIRST rainout of PITS/TX Tuesday was a DH on Thursday.

I surely didn't expect it to be ;

And for the record, OFFICIALLY I am 3 points ahead of FS. Officially, has one LESS point.

Hey, I crawled my way up to 4th. I make it my business to notice these things!

For the record II - I cannot tell you how much I DESPISE double-header days. We all end up with pretty much the same people and I always think how good my team was BEFORE I had to pick scrubs I don't ever pick just to see them go to bat 8 or 9 times and HOPE for them to hit for the cycle or grand slam - which never happens.

Just makes for some loooong days.

I mean how many rainouts can Pittsburgh have? We are sooo not done with these guys.

Sounds alittle like SC was talkin a while back, when he passed me. Now look what has happened.

You have worked hard LDV. You showed what hard work can do. Moves you right up the rungs.

Look out JG!

I was worse than than that. I thought the originally scheduled single make up game on Thursday was a doubleheader on Wednesday .

You are getting soft in this game if you admit that. That's playing like a rookie!

But what I wouldn't have given to see that. Oh well, missed opportunities make some people come out smelling like roses!

I paid somewhat of a price for my stupidity.

Look at my transaction log. Like I said before, changing my team for yesterday at the last minute (I finished at 2:56 AM Eastern) without my usual study probably cost me some points on offense yesterday.

That's ok, , I'm really wishing Texas to blow out Montreal and KC today. Too bad they play so late.

Yesterday was so disapointing. So many possibilities and we end up with +10 for the Giants and +13 for the Yanks????? I thought there would be so much more movement.

I could have picked ANY catcher I wanted to, especially today. I freakin' had money left over! I didnt go for any DH Catcher because I WANTED Estrada. I CHOSE Estrada. I now LOATHE Estrada.

Could I be ANY whinier you ask?

Oh it is still early.

I dunno, there's plenty of room for movement.

DB and I differ on 6 selections, including our PS.

Besides Fullmer and the Texas PS, you share only Blaylock with FS, and Beltran with SC.

Only JG is pretty much out of the action. Being 168 Pts out of first, 157 points out of second, but with a 336 point lead over fourth can take some of the fun out of things.

He does differ with DB on 8 picks, though including his PS, and on me with 5 including PS, so he has a shot for serious movement too.

There's always the chance that with all these different picks we could still wind up with very similar scores, but I just have a feeling that today is gonna wind up being very interesting.

And long.

Um, sure.....

But all I know is I have had a Catcher play every day for WEEKS, hell - MONTHS!.....I must've been doing something right till today! Must've been concentrating on too many things - just look at my log!

A stupid mistake. Today of all days.

As a Wise Man once said to me, as I was reaching the snowy mountain's apex: "In a double header, you know the catcher has to play at least once" -- or maybe that was the devil who said that...

Freakin' Game 1 is rain delayed!! That's what I was afraid of. I knew it was supposed to be decent in Texas as of last night, but chance of rain in KC... could be a looooong day!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol
