Sorry Pee/ Geoff- Wrong Again!
I didn't miss it. I just didn't care for either PS for both games. As you can see from my team I have seven players for todays DH.
Only time will tell, but at least I didn't miss it.

My apologies, FS.

That's what I get for taking JG's word for it w/o checking personally.

I will add your players to the chart above forthwith.

Well, it is the weekend...

Sorry for missing y'all's offense. I kinda don't blame you for not picking a D-H PS -- I almost didn't!

Hey great - is the family taking you out or anything to celebrate ? :p

Seriously you may want to remove this post. You remember when PLaw - you know him the self proclaimed Real Sports Moderator - anyway when he last puffed his chest out and noted his rankings - it wasn't long before, well before he wasn't talkin about his rankings anymore.

Just something to think about.

Remember you are number 10 - and nobody can take that away from you - at least until tomorrow.

Well, I said Friday I would be out of town. Yikes, I didn't expect to plummet THIS rapidly down the shoot.

But I have to say, it you all were where I was, doing what I was doing - being online changing up a baseball team somehow doesn't seem that important

Today will be brutal. I didn't get a chance to change my team so my crappy team from yesterday will have to ride today with an 0-0 pitcher going against who picked. I'm doomed!

Congrats Pork! As they say on VH-1 - you are having the BEST WEEK EVER!!!!

Do my eyes deceive me? Aww, thanks, Plaw! (Wait, that wasn't a curse, was it?! ) It's nice to know that OUR Top 4 share the same PS's as the Overall Top 7 (and I'm sure LD woulda, too, had she been around...)

Thanks, Buff

I find DB's absence insulting, tho! :p Maybe he's starting to get a bit nervous? Bring on more double-headers!!

Jeter & A-Rod have great career numbers against Wells, but they gotta do better than 1-6 if I'm gonna stay on that leaderboard!

You'll be on the Leaderboard by week's end, I'm sure. The question is, "where"?

The guy in 5th, one point behind you, already has homers from Rolen & Bonds. If Pedro has a good game, you're probably done s far as finishing first goes.

But if Johnson holds up and Sheets doesn't, you could be right in there.

A high top-spot is pretty much out of reach now, due to total offensive breakdown.

Berkman ($7.5m) isn't playing cuz his grandfather died. Lew Ford didn't start, and, Thome ($6.4m) is putting up a big fat zero. And no homers yet from the rest...

Ahh well... no bid deal

Going out to dinner now - hopefully things'll look different when I get back

You got skunked today, Geoff, but still had an awesome week (especially considering you had two half-assed days). I'd bet its the single highest 7 day total in our group's history.

Awesome picking, dude.

Well JG, let me be the first to congratulate you (which is more than you ever did for me) on your overall world-wide 17th place finish for the week. Quite an achievement, and one that nobody can ever take away from you. Nobody. Ever.

Although you faded like an old pair of jeans yesterday, it's still something to be quite proud of. I'm sure one day you'll be telling your grandchildren.

Well I can tell my grandchildren how I came in last in the Fantasy Baseball because on Sundays I had such a diverse and busy day that my Monday teams usually had no pitching staff and two offensive players........maybe they will each hit a couple of grand slams.

I believe I mentioned this once before, MC....

The one day you cannot afford to miss is Monday, because of the usual dearth of games.

Also, you better figure out how to find out about those doubleheaders. :p

I think we're all willing to chalk up the first half as practice for you, but if you don't make up your mind to start paying serious attention to this game after the all-star break....

Yeah, you'll win Rookie Of The Year, but it'll be by default. And actually, with only a 125 point lead over a guy who hasn't played in 8 1/2 weeks, not even that is a certainty. :p

10 Things I Think I Think (ala Peter King)

I'M BACK / VEGAS EDITION

1 - Boy, am I glad to be back. I missed ya guys.
2 - Congratulations to anybody who did anything last week (e.g. moving up a place, placing high in the overall leaderboard, going to the bathroom successfully, taking the doctor-recommended dosage of vitamins, etc). I didn't know our group was so attention-starved. :p
3 - Last week absolutely sucked for me fantasy-wise. I had no clue who I had in basketball. No time to research my baseball picks. Waaah, waaah, waaah. (I might as well put that because any subsequent sentences would have been whines anyway.)
4 - I HATE DOUBLEHEADERS.
5 - Vegas was a lot of fun. Would have been more fun if I won.
6 - I HATE MONDAYS.
7 - I will be more focused from here on out. Comeback starts NOW! (Like these little proclamations worked in basketball! )
8 - Looks like I'm the lone wolf with Prior today. What... I'm supposed to pick against the Cubbies?
9 - I didn't see as many prostitutes as I would have expected. Either (1) they don't "patrol" on weekdays, (2)I wasn't looking in the right places, or (3)my hooker-dar wasn't working. Not that I was looking to procure their services!
10 - I HATE DOUBLEHEADERS AND MONDAYS! BTW, did anyone else think there was a DH today?

Nice to have you back, Most Worthy Adversary.

I want to hear more about the Vegas trip.

Where did you stay?
Where did you eat?
What did you play?
If blackjack, did you count?
How did the counting go, if you did?
How much did you lose?

BTW, I was gonna pick Prior, too. But it's a bit early for defense (I knew you were gonna have The Big Unit yesterday, and I went with shit Sheets anyway. Shoulda had him last time, in the 16 inning scoreless game).

But I figured Prior wasn't gonna go more than six.

Thank you....I couldn't have done it without thinking about my baseball picks last week.

I stayed at the Aladdin. It's a pretty nice hotel. My sisters loved the mall connected to it. Being a rookie gambler, it wasn't the place to gamble because $5 tables were few and far between.

Where did you eat?
We ate at the Aladdin buffet (Spicy Market Buffet?), Todai - japanese buffet, Barbary Coast restaurant - (cheap steak meal), Harley Davidson restaurant, P.F. Changs... Those were the big meals. We had snacks at food courts every now and then.

What did you play?
If blackjack, did you count?
How did the counting go, if you did?
How much did you lose?
I played blackjack and slots only. At first, I was kind of nervous to play blackjack so I played nickel slots. My sister actually won $50 playing nickel slots. Anyway, Thursday morning, I decided to look up on the internet basic strategies of playing blackjack - when to double down, split, stand, etc. After studying them for an hour or so, I felt confident enough to play at the tables.

All in all, I lost about $140. $100 of that was at the tables.

Next time, I'm going to count!

I would have been more prepared this trip, but early last week, my trip was in limbo since I didn't know if I was going. Because of this, I didn't do any research. I'll be more prepared next time.

They're pretty few and far between everywhere, except maybe downtown. You're not gonna find too may $5 table on the strip.

From my experience watching people play blackjack, an hour is more study than I think half the people who play ever devote to the game.

A numbers guy like you should have no trouble mastering an elementary counting system.

Um, noooooooo.

What happened, your Palm Pilot experience technical difficulties?

As for the hookers, they have cleaned up the Strip quite a bit in the past few years. Now if they could only do something about those annoying people who hand out those (click-clack) pamphlets. I think there are so many escort services around to cater to every want and need, who needs a street walker?

Not that I know about the above from personal experience. I have heard from others

I do know though that if you walk by the Harley Davidson casino in a short skirt or skimpy top, they will rate you with big cards they hold up in the air. They have been doing that for years and I always get 10's across the board. Poor fellas must be nearsighted or damned blind

Oh and thanks for the invite for all of us on your dime
