Mary, Mary, Mary......

Where were YOU last night? I know I was out and didn't have a chance to tweak but it appears that all-day 18 inning fiasco yesterday screwed us up for today. Seems the Mariners used up all the bulls in 'da pen. I think we have Freddy throwing tonight. Better get down on your knees and say a prayer. Maybe two.

I know speaking for myself, I am hoping Pedro pulls a groin or breaks a pinkie or something.

Hey, I'm a bit late with my whining, folks. I could have whined first thing this morning, but I was busy. Better late than never with the Whines, huh?

U-G-L-Y...you ain't got no alibi...you're UGLY! you're UGLY!!

I KNEW it was gonna be like this. 3 ER's in the 1st inning? Thanks Larry Walker....his points might actually offset some of my negative PS points.

I am otherwise occupying myself for the rest of this Friday night. I will "peek" in the wee hours to see the damage.

Carry on, kids.

Okay, Peeps -- in 7 hrs I'll be on my way to Mary-land and won't return until Monday afternoon/evening. I will (better!) have internet access, but won't have my usual time to update scores (but I will try here and there). And, if for some reason I don't have Net access, one of you can expect calls from me Sat and Sun nights!

I'll be on here when I can, tho, so behave. :p

Where the heck is everyone?? I'm on my brother's computer, and it's awkward not having all my links handy, and tabbed browsing in Mozilla, so it's too much effort for me to do math and such. Besides, I'm pooped and am actually going to bed -- like 4 hrs earlier than usual I'll check in tomorrow - maybe someone will have something to say

BTW - Is it my brother's computer, but are the fonts used on this site HUGE?? Could be his display settings, but I went over them and didn't notice anything weird. And his browser text view is on Medium. On MY machine, Medium is the equivalent of his Smallest. Hopefully it's just this machine, cuz if it's been looking like THIS for everyone since day one, I should be shot!

Wow... I'm speechless.

All I can say is that I pulled a Buffy and have been nowhere near a TV or a computer (other than the 5 minutes I took to change my team last night) to see any postponements, if any. I guess there was one.

Well, this sucks. No biggie though... I still have a couple of weeks to make up for this mistake.

I lucked out.

I left NYC Friday night headed for a an annual weekend function my industry holds every year in a dumpy hotel deep in the Catskill mountains.

No "business center", no computer access, and no laptop (which probably wouldn't have worked up there anywhere, since my cell phone didn't).

I had selected my original Sunday team on Friday morning the same time I did my Saturday team (a real pain, BTW, writing down all the matchups with probable pitchers for Sunday, then checking both Saturday and Sunday's pitcher vs. hitter matchups), and left my Sunday selections to be entered on Saturday with someone who is reliable, dependable, and familiar with how the game works. And who also knew I would kill him if he forgot to do it.

It was only from a chance remark overheard after dinner Friday night that I learned of the Yanks-Mets postponement.

Undaunted, I called my helper early Saturday morning, and after confirming for me that there would be a doubleheader on Sunday, was able to, under pressure, pick an entirely different team.

Hope that makes you feel better, DB

Anyway, you guys know how much I detest doubleheaders. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise (and yes, that IS what I'm telling myself! )

Hi all, I just got home from a wonderful wedding held here in Central New York. The place is called Geneva on the lake. What a place and the rooms were plush and fit for a king. Copy and paste the link to see the place if you would like or try the link: http://genevaonthelake.com/
Don't forget to see the pictures of the rooms. Many famous people have stayed there.
We had a grand suite and the views of the lake and gardens were as good as it gets. The service by the staff and food were to die for and we had the whole place for our family and friends so it was like having your own family estate for the weekend.

I was lucky and caught the double header early Saturday so I did get in on it. I did my team in just under 4 minutes so I have no idea if all of any of my players will be playing.

Hola Peeps!

I lucked out as well. Friday night on my way out I saw the rain postponement and knew I would NOT be near a computer to make changes if they made the DH for Saturday. Luckily for me, I saw it was scheduled for Sunday.

Gosh DB, my heart bleeds for you as you are so close to 1st.

Tell you what....as your number one fan - it would not hurt my feelings to see homers galore for all your offense (sans your Center fielder), Posada, Zeile, Floyd, Cameron and Spencer (for moi, of course) and see the Reds get 30+ points.

A win-win situation for the both of us. Not too shabby Good Luck.

Starting next Friday, I am gone for like a week or more. But no worries, I will have to get a "helper" lined up  to protect my 4th place berth.

So pl was off in the Catskills. Did you see Freddie Roman? Tony Orlando? How about a nice knish? There are only a couple of places open up there; Grossingers, the Concord, Villa Roma. But things are going to break soon...here come the casinos.

I can't believe yesterday's totals. My offensive points total (68) was the best day I've ever had here, and I still end up losing ground.

The bitch of it is, I was going to pick the Yanks as my PS, but I never thought the Mutts would roll over the way they did....I was expecting a split.

OK, people....JG is coming back today....we better clean this place up before he gets back.

DB - climb up and get PL's shorts off the moosehead.

LD - clean up the shot glasses, and don't keep any!

MC - wake up FS and get the phone (to dad) out of his hands.

I'll vacuum, since my game already SUCKS anyway.

Man, I coulda been a contendah.....

In case you haven't noticed, I have turned this game around. I have held my own and stayed with (or even DOMINATED) you bad boys the past 3 weeks or so -placing 2nd last week by only 5 points. In no way possible am I able to make up 400 points in 3 weeks (that is 3 WEEKENDS!! ) but after the break, there will be someone else in town nipping at your heels and breathing down your neck.

I echo that. Since Geoff stopped smoking he's killing us...He's scored 1804 points since the last week in May (when he stopped), and the next closest competitor (Buffy) is 113 points behind. The rest of us trail badly.

Kudos to LD, too, for her recovery from a poor start.

Tell me about it... If I would have known about the doubleheader, I KNOW I would have picked the Yanks. Oh well. No use crying over spilled milk.

On the upside, Plaw also had an opportunity to seriously increase his lead and end this race in one day. I'm glad all I lost is 26 points to him.

Oh Horse BALLS!

Hell, summer is here, the weather is great and this game has dropped on my things to do list the last few weeks. Any more then 5 minuites a day is too long. So factor that into how great you are doing! Sc if you want my spot feel free to come on up, because I know there will be a few nights in the next few weeks when I will be gone once again. There is never enough hours in the days this time of year. You have to enjoy them before winter hits once again.

The days are on the shorter side now and each day we lose a few minutes of sunlight. So enjoy it while you can.

By the way we just got a new Yellow Lab Puppy at our home. She is so much fun and has given us so much joy around the house. Just like taking home a baby and almost as expensive!

Oh HORSE BALLS!

I would GLADLY sit down with you and compare social calenders. And I would win

Magnolia Queen, you ain't. You aren't doing so shabby so don't act so nonchalant about playing well. You've earned it - and if you can shuffle a rich social life with it all, more power to ya.

For some of us, this game is a hobby - just like playing golf, shooting pool, singing karaoke or going to the movies. As long as you have fun, that is all that matters. Some of us ARE more competitive than some, but what game or sport is worth playing if there isn't a LITTLE something at stake?

Maybe I should call FS my "most worthy adversary"?

That is, at least until after the All-Star Break. Then all bets are off.

Dam, I guess I will be cut out of the will now....

I'll just have to write a tell all book instead.

Of course this is like a hobby. I don't see anyone putting money in my pocket

Hell, I am still looking for some perks around here.
