Considering there's a chance of thunderstorms tonight it may not matter. Maybe that's what SC was concerned with.

You guys do have baseball fever.

Keep picking on me, every time you guys pick on my team I wind up getting a great score.

The trick here is to try and beat the Buffy Curse! Now, that is more of a challenge then picking a team.

I take it that everyone is off today?

Great night for fireworks last night. They did get them in before the rain came and they were the best ever. Every year we seem to get rain on the night of the big fireworks display. It is almost like it is to wash out any duds that don't go off. It keeps the kids from looking for theem and getting hurt.

Where were the fireworks at FS? I saw something on TV last night where I believe was NY. I don't know whether it was live or not. But it looked awesome. I keep meaning to go to NY for fireworks. I bet they'd be amazing to see in person.

I'm off pretty much everyday. But that has nothing to do with whether I'm at work or not.

It's not worth fighting the crowds, IMO. But they are spectacular. I can just about see the whole show from my terrace even though I'm about 10 miles away.

Being able to just see them in the confines of your own home is just as nice. That's how the apartment was I lived in the city a few years ago. I could just hang out my kitchen window and see the fireworks from the harbor. Where I live now they shoot fireworks off at a little park literally 10 blocks from me. But I just stand on my back porch to see them. They're nothing special though.

Yeah Pork, I got access at the most crucial time. I have been out of town, and back for one day then off again tomorrow through next weekend.

I will have to set THE most amazing roster for the week to make up for the sloppy team I had all weekend. I had no time to research picks - just had to plunk some useless people in.

Either THE most amazing roster or find a way to persuade the baseball Gods to take care of me while I am away

At this point, I can't wait for the All-Star Break.

Looks like +4 for Newhan owners: The BBC boxed scores didn't include him for some reason. He has a single in the first game, and 2 singles and a run-scored in the second.

15 pts for PL's Hairston pulls him over 100

My only non-dh pick, Jason Bay, of course didn't play today. I wish ESPN would update their player news earlier

It looks like it'll be ok. That's Baltimore weather. If you don't like it, wait 15 minutes, it'll change. Although it's still pretty cloudy.

Something's screwy with the scoring Geoff, cause he played both. Did anyone pick the long shot and have Hairston? He was on fire.

Buffy, Buffy. Why oh why did you pick TB? I think we all need to duck and hide next week when she gets back.

I needed yesterday, DB. I have a strong feeling that this race is gonna come down to the very last day.

Aside from our PS and our both finally jumping on the Richard Hildago bandwagon (is this guy hot, or what?), we have completely different players today, so there's plenty of room for movement.

I just checked the official scores, and they are considerably different than what JG posted above

-6 for DB, PL, and JG; +3 for FS and LD

Baltimore PS is only +48 for the day (not +54), and TB PS is only -14 for the day (not -17)

Prediction: PL gains 12 points for the day.

FS vs. LD

3B Blake vs. Blum. I don't think Blum'll play two. Slight edge for FS.
SS Nobody vs. Tejeda, Huge edge for LD
CF Ford vs. Matos. Matos should play both, medium edge for LD
DH Huff vs. Stairs, Big edge for FS

Prediction: LD gains 8 points for the day [/b]
Not bad Pee- The first half with you and DB you were right on. With Hairston playing well it gave you a good lead.

The next section betwwen LD and FS you were a small bit off. Still not bad I would say.

Tejada didn't score at all the first game, but came back in the 2nd game with a good score of 8.

Matos did play both games, but Ford doubled his score only playing in one game.8/4
and you were dead on with Huff over Stairs 7/0

FS 32 LD 28 LD lost 4 points on the day.

Very good Pee, I enjoyed this with the predictions. Again good job.

I guess we know who you will have for your PS then.

If you are really Lucky, Buffy will pick the same PS as you.

Anyway have a good time and have a brew or two for us.

Yep....if he doesn't do well, and you see (on the sports news) some guy running onto the field (after Martinez), screaming, "PLAW DROVE ME TO THIS", send my bail to the Boston Police Dept.
