DB's record with Buffy's, um, "staff"

12 days, 13 games

6-7, 4.31, 166 Pts (13.8 PPD) Way below his seasonal average in all three categories.

Now here's he a guy who was cursed.

Thanks, Capo.

I was quite lucky to pull out the win.

The new player values for the second half are posted. Looks like the values went down about 10-20% across the board.

And all of the first half stats are gone from the site already. That sucks.

FIRST HALF - FINAL RESULTS

Weekly winners also noted:

DB won 6 weeks, the most of anyone, but is 2nd
PL won 4 weeks, came in 1st
JG won 3 weeks, SC 1 week, and that's it

PL had highest weekly total, but, that first "week" was longer than a week.

JG had the best 7-day week total with 474

DB had best consecutive weekly wins with 3. In fact, the only one to win any consecutive weeks.

If Week 14 didn't count, DB would've won by 51 points, rather than losing by 99

PL won the First Half, and that cannot be taken away from him. Ever.

Trivia: The Second Half is about 3 weeks shorter than the First Half

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Thanks for posting that, Pork. I know it makes ME feel better about myself!

Didn't I get the Consistency Award last year?

This first half I was all over the place.

Kinda like real life.

I may not play the second half if I can't even get some honorable mentions for me-self... :p

BTW - who won this thing?

As we wait for plaw's predictions/betting line, it's time to hand out the best/most awards for the first half:

Most Studious: Plaw... I don't even know how to spell Newham (sp?), much less know what position he plays!
Most Friendly: Bethie, after the stories I heard after her New Mexico trip!
Class Clown: Big Daddy Don (the Wuss)
Most Handsome: Still Pork
Most Beautiful: Interestingly enough, Still Pork as well! He is, after all, a metrosexual!
Best Legs: Buffy (because she threatened me after she didn't win it last year)
Biggest Nerd: Still Me
Cutest Couple: Two words... pom poms
Most Likely to Shoot or Vomit on Pork: SC
Most Outspoken: FS
Most Whiny: Me
Best Rookie: MC (barely edged out non-playing IM! :p )
Most Likely to Succeed: Plaw. His championship to lose in the 2nd half... No pressure!

Really? You must be getting them straight from the proverbial horse's mouth as I haven't TOLD any or HEARD any.

Then again, I may be assuming I was around for these stories. Maybe I wasn't! There were a few times I left Bethie on her own, though I thought at the time she didn't notice!

Getting back to the bizz-ness of baseball. How many times in an All Star game has a pitcher intentionally thrown a ball at his own catcher?

Does Buffy need to hop on a plane and defend her man Piazza's honor tonight?

Oh noooooooo. I am no Piazza lover. Just because he was a Dodger and a friend of Eric's but no way!! Ick.

But I do love Clemens. In the biblical sense - sure. Let him bean the retard to a bloody pulp. Fine by me.

Wasn't he Eric's roommate or something? I remember you got "upset" when Piazza was called gay or something. Nice to see he's been upgraded to retard.

Note to self: RENEW MAXIM NOW!!!

My subscription ran out. I missed out on one issue so far - the Kim Smith (?) cover for Catwoman. Kournikova again? Didn't she just do Maxim or was it Stuff?

Let me know when Jessica Alba does another cover...

How does one "do another cover"? I'd like to see that.

Why isn't Vinny ever on the cover of anything. I'd buy an issue of "Big Mud tires" if he was on the cover.

You know you're getting old when the baseball players you watched growing up are now doing hair loss commercials, (ie. Wade Boggs). It's bad enough 40 something's are doing Viagra commercials. This is just getting too depressing.

Just a little pick-me-up. Don't shoot the messenger.

12-year-old Jeff Maier reached out and caught a fly ball at the Yankees-Orioles game, causing Baltimore to lose the first game of the playoffs.

This means that Maier has already caught more fly balls than the entire Mets outfield...
....................

A conceited new rookie was pitching his first game. He walked the first five men he faced and the manager took him out of the game. The rookie slammed his glove on the ground as he yelled, "Damn it, the jerk took me out when I had a no-hitter going."
...........................
A doctor at an insane asylum decided to take his patients to a baseball game.

For weeks in advance, he coached his patients to respond to his commands.

When the day of the game arrived, everything seemed to be going well. As the National Anthem started.......the doctor yelled, "Up Nuts" And the patients complied by standing up.

After the anthem ...he yelled, "Down Nuts". And they all sat back down in their seats.

After a home run was hit, the doctor yelled, "Cheer Nuts". They all brokeout into applause and cheered.

When the umpire made a particularly bad call against the star of the home team, the Doctor yelled, "Booooo Nuts!!!" and they all started booing and cat calling.

Thinking things were going very well. The doctor decided to go get a beer and a hot dog, leaving his assistant in charge.

When he returned, there was a riot in progress. Finding his assistant, the doctor asked," What in the world happened? "

The assistant replied, "Well, everything was going just fine till a vendor passed by and yelled PEANUTS!"
.................
Confucius Say: Baseball very funny game - man with four balls, no can walk!
....
During that big NBC fire at Rockefeller Center, a man was actually forced to leap from windows. Luckily, he was caught by the kid from the Yankee's game.
...
I love autumn. It gives me a chance to sit at home and watch the world series.
Kinda like the Dodgers.
(Sorry Buffy).

Clay is performing at our State Fair Sept 3.

Mister Buffy wants to go.

I told him I would accompany him to see Clay if I can go with my girlfriend to see Dave Matthews Band next month.

Do I know how to deal or what? The Sweet Life, indeed.

Sidebar: Poor Rog. That was bru-tal. As you all know I am an NL fan. Time to play Catch-Up.

Clay is a traveling fool. I think he's here in Baltimore next week. Alas, I think I will be out of state then. *sniff. Little Crabby didn't want to see Clay anyway. She was a Reuuuu-ben girl. Oh well.

Clay's going from inner city Baltimore to a State Fair? I guess he's going from seeing one pig to another.
