Don't worry Bethie, I hear you loud and clear. You let it all out, does the heart good to just let that anger go. I hope you noticed that I put a fresh towel and a fresh roll in the bathroom for you.

How nice of you to tidy the place up before you left. Desert me why don't you. It's ok. You'll find out it's a cut throat world up there and you'll be back down here with us simple folk before long. You mark my words.

OH YES, I feel so much better now. As someone once said. When you do well, you have to crow some. (or something like that ) Now a couple of stars showing a move up would be nice.

Pee, you better get your eyes checked. They seem to always be rolling around.

Thanks for posting them! It is not everyday that I get 80 points without a Doubleheader being played.

great, that was nice of you. I will have to drop Geoff a line and let him know what a good job you are doing.
Now if I only had taken Pujols, it would have been one hell of a night.

You would have been over the cap with Pujols, and would have had to have had a different team.

So who knows?

By the way I hate this game and may not play next year.

Apropos of nothing, you know what I find amazing?

That since the season began, the game site has been calling Barry Bonds "San Franscisco OF, SF".

You'd think they'd have fixed it by now.

Plaw, I believe it has something to do with the licensing of Barry Bonds's name. The same problem occurs in a video game I have (MLB 2004) - the makers had to create a player in place of Barry Bonds because they couldn't use his image.

All stems from money, of course.

That makes sense.

Steinbrenner does something similar with he Yankees, I think.

I'm hazy on the details, but I believe that all of MLB signed off on a licensing agreement in which they share the revenue derived from anything licensed by MLB, except Steinbrenner.

He doesn't share, MLB can't use the Yankees name, logo, etc., and George cuts his own deals wherever, and keeps all the dough.

Um, up past your bedtime, aren't you DB?

Was there ever any doubt?

Still a looong way to go. And if the Balt or Bost PS has a real good day and/or Schmidt gets bombed, my strategy for today could easily blow up in my face. . Believe me, I thought long and hard about my PS for today.

An equally spread out 25-30 runs between the two teams today would be nice, though.

Things are slipping around here. Before you would have a list of who had what players in the double header to compare.

Thanks Bethie. I told you it wouldn't be long.
It may get worse as I leave in the morning so i have to pick a team for the weekend.
I do hate DHs and these two teams get my guts turned.

I was going to pick a third team not in the DH but just couldn't bring myself do it. As it was, I went with Boston so I had less money to spend on the rest of my players. I hate when you don't know who is going to pitch. It sucks.

Wednesday: 7 offense, 34 pitching

Then you miss yet another doubleheader. You may want to consider sticking to golf.

Wow, instead of diatribes, we get complaints...

Anyway, here you go...

Players in DH:

PL: Javy, Palmeiro, Newhan, Tejada, Ramirez, Damon, Garcia, Ortiz

JG: Javy, Palmeiro, Roberts, Newhan, Tejada, Ramirez, Damon, Garcia

LD: Javy, McCarty, Roberts, Newhan, Garciaparra, Ramirez, Damon, Garcia, Ortiz

CB: Javy, Mora, Garciaparra, Damon, Nixon

MC: Manny, Matos

CC: Javy, Palmeiro, Bellhorn, Newhan, Tejada, Ramirez, Matos, Millar

FS: Javy, Palmeiro, Bellhorn, Garciaparra, Bigbie, Damon

DB: Mirabelli, Palmeiro, Roberts, Newhan, Tejada, Ramirez, Damon, Kapler, Ortiz

SC: None (banking on his non-DH players)

Players in DH that people hope do REALLY well...
PL: Ortiz (to pull away from JG)
JG: Roberts, Tejada
LD: McCarty, Nomar, Ortiz + players she's not sharing with CB
CB: All (each point his players score, he'll either pull away from MC or catch up to LD)
MC: Manny, Matos (to catch up to CB)
CC and Below: NEED ALL THE HELP THEY CAN GET!!

For the players who either maxed out or close to maxed out on DH players (PL, JG, LD, CC, DB), here's what I see as the price for picking Javy (or not picking him in my case):

PL: Had to pick a less expensive pitching staff; San Fran ain't a bad pick though; Cheapy 2nd baseman

JG: No Ortiz; Durazo a good pick though

LD: No Palmeiro, Garciaparra over Tejada

CC: No Ortiz, but she did get Bellhorn - a slight upgrade over Roberts

DB: No Javy, but wanted both Ortiz and Palmeiro, gamble on my part

I just picked Javy cause if he doesn't catch he usually DH's, so more of a chance he'll play both games.

With that being said he probably won't tonight.
