Well, I can certainly understand your lack of interest in the battle for first place, particularly since you're about to climb out of the basement and with a really good day could even move up two spots. But I would hate to simply PM this stuff to DB and deprive my reading public of the opportunity to partake of my valuable insights.

Whaddya talkin' about? I wrote this crap at 6:30 this morning.
"PL's Choices For A Career If He Could Go Back 35 Years And Do It All Over Again":
1) Trial Attorney. The judges would have allowed me anything, just to shut me up. 2) Sports Writer. I really think I could step right into a job doing this today if I had the opportunity. Seriously. 3) Baseball Broadcaster. I actually did kind of do a game once. I was the GM of my college radio station, and we brought a TV into the studio during a Yanks-KC playoff game in the mid-seventies, and me and another guy watched the game with the sound off and broadcast the play-by-play.

[/b] I agree with all. Trial Attorney - the tenacity, the verbal skills, the pomposity, arrogance. Sports Writer - not golf, maybe football, OK for baseball. Again the same skills above apply. Baseball Broadcaster - But do you have "the voice"? If so, this might be your lost niche.

When I checked the forecast last night, it was supposed to have cleared up by the afternoon. I just checked again, and it doesn't look good. I'm sure they'll get at least one in, though.

I guess you could ask Crabby, TIS, or SaladBar what they think; those are the only gals I've ever spoken to here. Personally, I wonder. I did do a lot of radio broadcasting in college, but I think my "Noo Yawk" accent would disqualify me from doing it professionally.

Aaron Miles leads off the first for the Rockies, and the Mets announcer says how he's 5 foot 7, and then he says how he's not the "quintessential leadoff man" because he doesn't draw enough walks.
So I look it up. In 376 ABs, Miles has walked nineteen times.
19 walks in 376 ABs for a guy who's barely more than five and a half feet tall and batting leadoff.
Come on......

Nice going, there, Crabby... Zeile, first game, 0-6. If he plays the second game instead of Phillips, Art Howe will be getting a letter from me tonight.

Cameron was a good pick - and I was gonna add "but you weren't alone in picking him" but then saw who did. Hey, but at least it took SC out of the gutter (for now)! Hopefully Burnitz will hit a few out next game (I assume he'll play)...

Burnitz is getting kinda old to be playing both ends of a DH, also. Of course, if both Cameron and Burnitz play both games, which is entirely possible, then DB gets the edge, but I think that Cameron is a lock to play two, and Burnitz isn't.[/b] Nice going, PL, picking Mike (16 points in the first game) Cameron, instead of Jeromy (2 points in the first game) Burnitz. Even if Cameron sits in the second game (which will also get Art Howe a letter from me) and Burnitz plays, it's gonna be tough for him to outscore Cameron.

Okay, who refreshed the Arsiva page 10 minutes before the end of the game so we have to wait an hour to see the final results? Now I gotta do it the "old school" way :p
