I love seeing "+ anything" next to DB!

Looks like I'm a lone wolf with Oakland today. I must have missed the "Pick Pittsburgh" memo today.

You guys are very fickle in what you like to look at.

I like seeing a muscular, half dressed man run down the street.

I like seeing the birds fly high, up against a bright blue sky.

I like seeing a full glass of wine or beer headed my way with the words, "Free of charge" coming out of someone's lips..

Ooops! Sorry, got carried away.

It doesn't take a wise man to figure that one out. :p

Funny that you wound up with Mulder. I figured Perez (especially vs. the hapless D. Backs, was a no-brainer.

Not like yesterday with Pedro, Zambrano, Sheets, Peavy, Clemens, Santana, and Hudson.

That raises a question in my mind. Do you think that 17 points out of first and given the sometimes wild fluctuations in pitching scores, that you are better or worse off having the same PS as I do?

If you were behind by a lot, or if was close but we were down to the wire, then obviously you wants a different PS, at least on days like yesterday when there are loads of viable options.

But being so close, with so much time to go, I would think you're better off with the same PS.

True, if you have a good day you could move into first, but with a bad day you could lose 25 points worth of ground.

It doesn't seem worth the risk at this point. I'd rather try to make up 17 points a few ata time.

Now, the same question could apply to me. Would I be better off with the same PS as you?

Answer: Yes. Even with such a small lead and so much time left, every opportunity that I can take away from you to gain points is a plus, albeit a small one, for me.

Hmmm... lots of questions in there. Here are my thoughts...

- On my choice of picking the A's - I know it's not something you'd expect from your MWA, but I picked the A's out of sheer laziness. I figure the A's were a good pick, and since I got them, at least for one game, at a lower "locked" value, I could do a bit more on my offense...

- Yes, with the point differential so small, it would serve me better to pick the same PS as you. My offense picks have been pretty good this half and would feel comfortable letting the race go down to who picks better offense.

- If I were in your position... same thing. Let the offense decide. Pitching is too wily. Any opportunity to play defense when you have the lead is a plus.

You're not supposed to let people know when you have a Woody. It takes all the excitement and anticipation out of it.

All these Johnsons and Woodies and, of course, I'm not playing with any of them.

Did Atlanta do a pitching change? I could swear it was Ortiz listed as SP when I made my pick.

I think I remember seeing Ortiz's name also, but he pitched last night. He had a no-decision in an Atlanta loss. Very weird.

Great! Why is it whenever the system has a fluke it's always against me.

Here's to everyone's Woody and Johnson going long and strong!

At my age when I know I'm gonna have a Woody, well, it's a major event. I just hope my Woody can go the distance.

The old windbag here (me) found this quote on a website.....

"Writing is a lot like sex. At first you do it because you like it. Then you find yourself doing it for a few close friends and people you like (like my fellow fantasy players). But if you're any good at all...you end up doing it for money." --Unknown

Italics mine.

Haha. Good one, SC. There are some people who like it so much they don't even let that stop them.

Plus, good writing and good sex are all about the "stroke".

Ummm....plaw does it for his "fantasy players"? Beings I'm the only "chick" here for now doesn't that sound kinda homo?

I like to write. What can I tell 'ya? So what if I'm a windbag?

Plus, when I was a kid, my father taught me how to figure batting averages at around age ten, so I love baseball stats.

Now if only someone besides DB would read what I write....

MC's Woody seems to be shrinking a little.

See, that's what happens when you reveal it too soon. It can't handle the pressure.
