I really think you're taking Plaw way too seriously!! But, this is a good opportunity to test out the "private messaging" function if you really need to continue busting each others balls.

Before I'm accused by the sore losers here, who don't share my "passion" for the game, think I'm a "windbag" or "anal retentive", consider me "mean spirited" and "arrogant", "old and cranky", and "full of hot air", and shall remain nameless (FS, SC and MC know who they are), allow me be the first to offer my congratulatons to DB, my Most Worthy Adversary, on his ascension to first place. Just a few things, DB........ 1) It's lonely at the top. You may want to consider that you're more comfortable in second place. 2) If you drop back down to second, there's no chance that you will choke like you did in the first half, and blow the win the last few days. 3) There are still 35 days to go, and my comeback starts tonight, so kindly do not rearrange the furniture in the penthouse just yet. 4) My manual with strategy tips, which now runs over 600 pages, was a little to heavy to carry. Just leave it in the top drawer of the desk. Don't bother reading it, though. There's very little in there that you don't already know. 5) The maid comes in today. If she's surprised that I'm not there, just tell her you're watching the place for me for a few days and that I'll be back. 6) Feel free to enjoy my collection of Bill James books, my MacMillan Encyclopedia, and my 33 consecutive issues of "Who's Who In Baseball". Please note, however, that the "Who's Who" collection is in anal-retentive chronological order, and I would appreciate finding it that way when I get back. 7) The wine rack is full, and the wine glasses are in the kitchen cabinet above the sink. Most of the bottles still have their prices on them. Feel free to imbibe, but nothing over $12.00, please. 8) My "Devil Suit" is in the hall closet. I don't think you'll be needing that, unless you're planning to make some kind of deal that involves you winning and the Cubs not making the wild card. My pitchfork is there also, though, and it sometimes comes in handy for shoveling out some of the shit that people throw at the occupant of the penthouse. Of course in your case they'll probably be throwing bouquets of flowers. Tell the doorman you're expecting some deliveries and he'll hold them for you at the front desk. 9) There's one cute chick in the building, who lives on a lower floor. She used to be a cheerleader, and has a great set of pom-poms..... 10) Don't bother to unpack. My comeback starts tonight. :p

You're starting to sound like someone else around here, who shall remain nameless (FS knows who he is). Doesn't play to win, just plays for the "fun" of it. (But at least you're having fun, even if you are making a travesty of a mockery of a mockery of a travesty of the game by going with the entire roster of one of the worst teams in baseball. Sure, it's supposed to be fun. If it wasn't, none of use would play. MaryCas, you have to admit he does have the best line of bullshit in the league. Like any great show, there has to be a person that you just love to hate. JR on Dallas, Simmon on American Idol, you know the type. Like Geoff said, just take him for what he is. Passion for the game- Hey, DB check the bedroom I bet he has a lifesize poster of himself on the wall. Hey, Pee while you were worrying about who would be playing on Saturday night. We were all hanging out eating ribs and pork sandwichs and listening to the band play great tunes over at the State Fair. Dancing with the lovely ladies and downing some ice cold wine slushes to cool us down. While you were getting up in the middle of the night to worry about missing a rainout I was snug in bed getting my rest. Isn't life grand! You should try it once in a while. But then again there is only 30 something day to go and you have slipped to 2nd place. TUMS PlEASE. The purpose of YOUR life may be to WIN a Game and that may make you real happy. But in my business I have learned that the purpose of life is to ENJOY each and every day that you have left. Funny how life has taken us in two different directions. By the way, have you had any of the sweet corn this summer. I think it has been the best ever.

I'm back home after a short, unexpected jaunt out of town and for those who are asking - yes, I deleted my team - didn't think it was fair for Pork, et al to keep figuring in my scores when I wasn't even playing. Hey, sometimes life throws you some really big potholes in the road and you have to do more than slow down the car, you have to actually stop and assess the damage which pretty much takes you out of the race. That is okay. There is always next year. Glad to see you are in 1st DB!! Hang it there, I am rooting for you (when I can't root for myself!). And strangely enough - I LIKE that Kiss poster. Only my opinion but I much prefer women in skimpy white cotton than frilly maid costumes.

Welcome back, Buffy. Now.....get your team back in that lineup! You still have the month of September in which to play. Hell, you were still doing better than me while you weren't playing

Hey Buffy - as an FYI, when I stopped playing that old "windbag", "anal retentive", "mean spirited", "arrogant", "old and cranky", "full of hot air" Moderator PL called me a Wuss. And than the other 'self proclaimed' Board moderator, windbag, anal retentive, mean spirited, arrogant, young and cranky, full of hot air, FS scolded me for posting in this thread since I wasn't playing. Just a warning. Personally I welcome you back with open arms.

Read my post again: Originally posted by La Dolce Vita: Glad to see you are in 1st DB!! Hang it there, I am rooting for you (when I can't root for myself!). Nowhere did I even mention you...how could I be picking on you? Are you one of those "It's all about me" kinda people?? Much of what you people say perplexes me. Perhaps I should go back a few pages and read up on all I missed. But then again, if I had time to do that, I would have time to play. And I really don't at this time so I will just trust you guys are having a good time. I picked my horse here, I will see how he does when it is all said and done. And Pork you are absolutely right. It is almost Football season! I did my first draft of the season yesterday morning. Poor SC - I DID beat you without even trying!! I really can't devote the time right now to play, but I will always have time to WATCH baseball!

Sure, and since you jumped back here and shot your mouth off again: TAKE NOTE ONE MORE TIME: Mud slinging is for players and good looking women only. Since you are neither take a hike- and we don't want to see your long lost team pop up in the last few weeks either. and Pee may be ant old "windbag", "anal retentive", "mean spirited", "arrogant", "old and cranky", "full of hot air" Moderator but he is ours and only players can pick on the crusty old fart! Even if he did call you a wuz. Take it like a man and stop crying like a baby: See what fun you are missing!

At first I thought FS was welcoming back Buffy like only he can. Then the remark about not being a good looking woman threw me. I know he's not talking about Buffy cause I for one can vouch that she is one fine looking woman. What's all this talk about fun? I for one am having a freakin lousy time.
