Here are my notes...
> "two gabbagool, gabagol and a proscuitto" > Luca shown practicing his lines was actually filmed after the main scene where he messed up. He couldn't do a good take, so FFC showed him practicing to explain it, and make it comical. Previously, it was said that his practicing was real and caught on film. > Woltz' mansion was filmed in LA > The horse's head was obtained from a dog food company. Eww. Dogs eat horse!? > Day 1 of shooting was outside Best & Co. and Polk Hobby Shop. Day 3-4 was the Sollozzo/McClusky murder scene. Day 5 were some exteriors at the hospital. Many of the exterior hospital scenes were actually shot in LA later. Most of the film was shot in NY. > Vito leaves the office at 4:30, the day he gets shot. > Vito asks for 3 oranges, but gets only 2. > Sonny writes "8:30" on the kitchen cabinet. > Castellano wasn't in GF2 because he wanted a private writer for his lines (?!!) > "Paulie, I want you to go down 39th Street. Colosanto's." (Gotta look that up) > The [A] sicker on Clemenza's car was a WWII gas-rationing coupon. > The "we can't wait" speech was at 7pm. > FFC's father, Carmine, played "This Lonliness" on the piano during the matresses sequence. He was a major composer for the films. > "Vaffanculo" > The boy on the bike in New England says "Hi Miss Adams!" > The New England scene was filmed A YEAR LATER!
Those're my notes. FFC's commentary was good, but much was repetitious from other sources. It's mosty about shooting the film; it'd've been nice if he included trivia and goofs and such as well...
Tomorrow - GF2...
JGI liked him relelling his past stories, but for a few of the great scenes of The Godfather I wish he would of talked about them more.Very good though.
