Round 1 (Complete)

1 PL 110
1 IS 110
2 DB 100
2 JG 100
3 TM 90
4 SP 80
5 CC 60

Now I insist that imasoldier tells us who he is! Tho I'm suspecting Irishman12 cuz of the "12"...

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I thought maybe Crabby because of

1) The "Saucey" (Remember "Saucey Chick"?) and
2) Besides you, she's the only one who's cared whi IAS is.

But I don't know if you can have two teams in one league, unless the other team isn't her (maybe it's LDV)

Here's an update on this game

PL (110)
Indy in 5
Det in 7
LA in 7
Sac in 7

IS (110)
Indy in 6
Nets in 7
LA in 6
Minn in 6

DB (100)
Indy in 5
Det in 6
SA in 6
Minn in 6

JG (100)
Indy in 5
Det in 7
LA in 6
Minn in 6

TM (90)
Indy in 4
Det in 6
LA in 7
Sac in 6

SP (80)
Indy in 4
Nets in 7
LA in 6
Sac in 7

CC (60)
Indy in 6
Nets in 6
LA in 7
Minn in 7

My prediction for the most likely scenario for the remainder of this round would be
Indy in 7
Nets in 6
LA in 6
Minn in 7

Which would make the standings

IS 160
JG 140
PL 130
DB 120
CC 120
SP 120
TM 110

Looks like Imasoldier, with all of his picks in this round appearing to be poised to advance (assuming Indiana wins), has the inside track right now.

CC would be in the best position to move up with four live teams also.

JG and SP would have three live teams, and everyone else only two.

I'm not sure, and I'm not gonna figure it out, but based on the predictions for the next two rounds, the results of this round may very well mathematically eliminate some of us.

And who is this guy Imasoldier?

On some post, plaw asked me if I saw the Det-NJ game...

Tree-mendous game! Although I chose Detroit in the Pick and Roll game, I have no vested interest in who wins and I was actually rooting for the Nets because you're one of the few real people I know who cares who wins.

Three overtime games are great!

That was about 8:55 this morning. I thought you were around, and I think I asked on the baseball thread. When you didn't answer right away, i figured you were gone, so i just deleted it.

Unbelievable game. Shades of two years ago, first round against the Pacers. Nets up by three, Jefferson misses two foul shots, Reggie Miller hits a miracle 3 pointer, Nets win in double overtime.

"Veal" (really his nickname) Scalabrine was amazing. He's kind of the team mascot, and a fan favorite. His first two years he got virtually no significant minutes. This year, with injuries to K Mart and Rogers, he got some.

The fans love him. As soon as it's garbage time, they start chanting "Scala-Brine, clap-clap, clap clap clap. I'm gonna be there tomorrow, the building should be rocking, and we're gonna start a Scalabrine chant as soon as theam hits the floor.

And it's funny. My son and the guy who sits behind us are the only real people I know who care if they win or not.

Lone wolf to pick San Antonio and guess who loses...

Anyway, looks like I'm all D-U-N in this game, so good luck to rest of yous. Now I can concentrate on fantasy baseball!

Anyway, back to the Det-NJ game. Scalabrine looks like the type of guy that every team needs... You know, the annoying guy on the bench with not much basketball skill but will outhustle everyone just to make a contribution. The guy who cheers just a little too much.

Mark Madsen is annoying like that. That guy bugs me.

It would be cool if NJ wins the series, but I'm hoping Det wins tonight and NJ wins in a game 7. Game 7's are the greatest to watch. That's one reason the March Madness tournament is so popular - the whole tournament is just a series of Game 7's.

Never mind, I got it

I hadn't figured in last night's Ind-Mia result.
You got an extra 10 for predicting Indy in 6.
I'll redo the above.

The 70 was wrong, because we only gave everyone who had the Lakers 10 points for the series win, not remembering that you get 20 points for a series win in the second round.

So the 70 should have been 80. Everyone got an extra 10. To your 80 we are now adding 30 -- 20 for the Indian win, and anextra 10 for getting the number of games right.

Hope this helps

Right.

What's listed above are the four possible outcomes for the remainder of this round, and what the standings will be for each possibility.

You can actually still win the whole thing here.

If the Nets win tomorrow, and then beat Indiana in 7, and if Minnesota wins tonight and then lose to the Lakers in 6, and if the Lakers beat the Nets in 7 in the finals, you and Soldier Boy will finished tied with 290, and it will come down to your tiebreaker.

Lotsa "Ifs", though

As promised...

There are eight scenarios left:

Code:
Minn-Det-Minn: JG wins
Minn-Det-Det: JG wins
Minn-Ind-Minn: JG wins
Minn-Ind-Ind: JG wins
LA-Det-LA: IS wins
LA-Det-Det: IS wins
LA-Ind-LA: IS wins
LA-Ind-Ind: JG wins, unless LA beats Minn in 7
and Ind beats Det in 5, in
which case we'd have a tie
I did this fast, so I can't vouch for it's accuracy 100%, but I'm pretty certain that this is how it plays out

This is not good. I picked Minn vs Indi, with Indi to win it all. Damn you, Lakers!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

There goes this game I guess -- the best I can hope for is a tie according to Plaw's "what-if" chart... Damn Lakers!

No, according to the chart if Indy pulls out their series and goes all the way, you would win.

Again, though...I did it fast and can't vouch 100% for its accuracy.
