Big Daddy, find a way to be there! I would never play in a league where I couldn't draft my own players...just wouldn't seem like "MY" team - and where is the fun in that? Go home early sick if you have to. By the way, you don't look so good!

Draft time is not good for me either, I will still be at work, but luckily I can lock myself in my office and put up the "Do Not Disturb - Draft in Progress" sign.

Hey that's an idea, you can draft for me, you did so well drafting your team last year, dead last, right? Even lost to a 'chick' in the Last Place playoff game, and she told me in a PM that she wasn't even trying then. :p

Don't look so good But I hear you about not being my team. The draft is the most fun, I never did an online draft before, mine was always with a group. You know I am such a people person.

That panty waste Salary Cap league that the Wussy Sports Mod is hosting that has no draft. How can you have a fantasy football league with no draft? That is like having sex without any foreplay.

I usually like the foreplay better....It always lasts longer, and there are a lot more variations, depending on your partner......

Hey you know I noticed that you put the 'stickys' or whatever they are to keep your league threads at the top but you never did that for your MWA and his league. As the First Half Fantasy Baseball Winner and GF BB Sports Moderator I see that as an 'abuse of Power'. I am going to have to report you to someone who will deal with this in a fair manner - the real Sports Moderator, self appointed at least - FS.

He will deal with you accordingly and restore integrity to this quickly deteriorating situation.

MWA's league is full, so I figure it's up to the members now to stay abreast of developments.

The other two games still need players, so I figured I'd keep them on top until we get a few more.

I notice, BTW, that you are still conspicuous by your absence.

As far as foreplay goes, there's lots I could say, but I wouldn't want to arouse you any further......

OK guys, I just did a draft for another league and it takes about 45 minutes if everyone shows up or leaves it on auto-draft.

Please do not be one of those people who leave their draft room open (you keep the window open) and leave it open while you step out to get a bite to eat or something. As everyone who's done this before knows, it is the most annoying thing in the world because each time it's your turn, the computer uses up the entire 1:30 to make your pick (because you're supposed to be doing it manually with the window open). Anyway, if this isn't making any sense, it will make more sense once the draft starts.

The draft starts at 6:45 PM Eastern. As Plaw suggested earlier, click on the "test your system" link on the homepage to make sure you have java.

If there are 12 teams and everyone is picking 16 players that is 192 picks. If everyone uses 1 minute that is 192 minutes if everyone uses only 30 seconds that is still 96 minutes. How do you expect it to be done in 45 minutes?

Considering the first three rounds takes about 3 minutes because pretty much everyone knows who goes in those rounds, it's much shorter. Even in the later rounds, people averaged about 20 seconds per pick.

Also, my last draft was 10 people, 15 rounds. Our draft is probably going to be a little longer than 45 minutes.

I'm using my full 90 seconds even in the first 3 rounds.

And you know that WUSS PL is certainly going to use his 90 seconds. He has 63 fantasy football and NFL web sites all bookmarked and opened prior to the draft. In addition to a wall size cheat sheet, he also has a projector connecting to his computer so he can have the draft projected on the wall. Told me he is gonna have his hot girlfriend over to watch him in action - thinks it will make her hot seeing him that way. I told him if she is there she could 'fetch' him some beers. He told me that he doesn't drink during drafts - may impare his judgement.

I had 12 people in my draft last Sunday and probably 5 of them were not present. It took about an hour and a half. We spent the next fifteen minutes discussing where we were going out for breakfast afterwards....

Just remember if we use the snake method and I am on one of the ends - that is actually 3 minutes for me.

Good thing there is a long break after that.

The GF and I live together, so I don't have to "have her over"; she'll be here anyway.

But I already told her that when she gets home from work and sees me at the computer, she is absolutely not to disturb me for any reason whatsoever.

And the only time she gets hot when she sees me sitting at the computer is if I'm on some porn site and, um, and....never mind

an um, and never mind - meaning if you are taking care of um 'personal business' :p

No, just don't disturb me tonight during the draft.

PL: That's because you don't understand how the game works. See, every day you have to pick a different pitching staff....

PL: A pitching staff. You know, every baseball team has a bunch of pitchers.

PS: But every day, a different pitcher pitches. So if you change your PS based on who's pitching, that changes the whole salry cap thing. You're either over the cap, so.....
GF: What's a salary cap?
PL: Well, each player has a value, depending on how good her is. You've heard of Derek Jeter, right?
GF: Yeah.....
PL: Well, he's good, so he has a higher value than, let's say,Alex Gonzalez.
GF: Who's Alex Gonazalez?
PL: Well, actually there are two Alex Gonzalezes. One plays for Florida, and the other used to play for the Cubs, but now he plays for Montreal.
GF: I'm confused.
PL: So am I. I got them mixed up once and took the wrong one. The one I took went 0-4, and the one I meant to take went 3-4, with a homer and 3 RBIs. Cost me 11 points. Anyway, each player has a different value, so you can't have a team of all players who are as good as Derek Jeter.
GF: Why not?
PL: Because then you'll be over the salary cap
GF: What's a salary cap?
PL: Well, the total value of all of your players can't be more than 50, so...
GF: I'm going to jump off the terrace now. I'll probably be killed since it's a nine story drop.

DB, what was going on, PL must have left the phone off the receiver for you to hear all that accurate stuff. You know when he gets smoked this year, he is gonna blame his GF. Saying something like she disturbed him during his 90 seceonds of a key round.

Gee, I have been doing fantasy football for awhile and I gotta admit that would cause me some 'distractions' during a draft. I would probably be concentrating on TEs. :p

Oh and PL told me in a PM that your Mr. Buffy sounds like a Wuss. Asking you and stuff - he says real men tell their women what to do.
