If it was Green for Harrison and Toomer, I wouldn't have taken that trade. By giving up Green, I'd be starting Tiki, Mr. Fumbleitis himself. Ugggghhhh.

I gave up Portis because I needed more depth at reciever position because I just gave up my star WR with my previous trade. I am confident that Curtis Martin will have a good year, so I felt I was justified in making the trade. And as far as Tiki being a fumbler, if you really dont like him, then drop his ass. I will be glad to pick him up.

I said I think you got the better of the trade with Portis - I like Harrison have him in my other league. Toomer is a stiff - there is nobody that can throw the ball on that team, I don't understand why they got rid of Collins so fast.

Hey DB - sounds like RB is calling you out here. If I read between the lines - which you know is a gift that I have - I think he is calling you a Pvssy. :p

DS--How about Portis for Green?

Forgive him BDD, for he knows not what he is doing.

I'm sorry for making fun of Tiki, RB... I'm also sorry he costs the Giants so many games because of his fumbles! :p

Waivers work as follows...

If a Free Agent isn't on waivers, anybody can pick him up at any time.

Otherwise, if someone drops a player, that player will be on waivers for a couple of days. Primarily, the waiver system is to allow time for all players to see that a certain player was dropped (in order to avoid collusion).

Once a player is on waivers, any manager can claim him and what determines who gets him is according to a waiver priority. Our waiver priority was initially based on the reverse order of the draft.* You can check your waiver priority on the "Team and Manager" list on our homepage.

Here's how the waiver priority system works:

- If only one person claims a waiver free agent, then he gets him and gets moved back to the waiver priority line (to #12) and everyone else moves up one spot. For example, Michael Vick is released by Plaw and after the 2-day waiver period, I'm the only one who wants to pick him up. I pick up Vick and my #8 waiver priority will drop to #12.

- If two managers attempt to claim a waiver free agent, the one with a higher waiver priority gets him and he moves to the back of the line. Everyone else moves up a spot. For example, Michael Vick is released by Plaw and after the 2-day waiver period, Pat with his #2 priority and I, with my #8 priority, want Vick. Pat picks up Vick and his #2 waiver priority will drop to #12. Everyone else moves up 1 spot.

- If you pick up a free agent that isn't on waivers, your waiver priority doesn't change.

Well, that's about it. Hopefully, that made sense.

* If you look at the current waiver priority, it's different from the reverse order of the draft. That's because after the draft, all undrafted players were on waivers. Some of you picked up players during this waiver period - hence your waiver priority changed.

And to give up a stud QB, I don't see where that is a good trade.
My 2 cents
There's a reason for my madness. I love Burress and this is really his audition year for another team next season. He's got fantastic ability and one day should be the number one target for QB's. But he isn't at the moment and drops far too many balls so he's benched for the moment. I've lost an amazing QB but I think it's a fair trade. I now get probably the third best reciever in the league, a reliable QB who is backing up my risk but potentially awesome QB in Cincinnati.

Traditionally we're not a passing team and this year we'll be emphasising the rush again. But we were ranked 31st in rushing last year compared to 14th in passing.

To run the ball you've got to pass it too.

Wow - look at all this analysis from a guy who when he thinks 'football' means you can't use your hands - unless you are a goalie.

Anyway all this analysis makes me

Plexiglass has never amounted to anything and won't so this year. Hiney Ward is nice but Tommy Maddox is throwing.

I got you next week 'Brit' - better get your game face on. A battle for Pennsylvania - Pittsburg vs. Phila. Bring it on. :p

Oh and regarding emphasizing the rush this year, I hope you are right, I have Bettis as a reserve RB in my other league.

Hey Commish - hopefully you have gotten your head out of PLs a$$ - referring to your mushy sentiments in his congrats thread.
:p

But a question - if a pickup is made does that change the Waiver Order for the 'owners'. Does this apply to only Waiver pickups or FA's also ?

Well if you read my description above...

The only way the waiver order changes is if someone picks up a "waiver" player. If you pick up a regular free agent, make trades, or make any other transaction, it will not change the waiver order.

Yo Yo Yo - Commissioner DS

If a game ends in a tie - is it a tie or is there some sort of tiebreaker that gets used, i.e. most points on the bench ?

What week is it that I get to play your sorry-ass team ?? I got 'the Brit' next week, gonna teach him a thing or two about 'American' Football :p

Ties go down as ties. In the playoffs, there is a tiebreak system.

We play in Week 10, BDD. Better get your game face on, now.

Since we have 12 teams in a 14 week league, we play 3 teams twice. I get the honor of playing Plaw (last place finisher last year), RB (one to look out for, I think, with his two shrewd trades), and Da Brit (who knows how he'll finish).

I don't know how I feel about that.

Like I said earlier - a Fantasy Football League without a Draft - is like Sex without ForePlay. Not very much fun.

From looking at the team you 'drafted' it is probably good that you are in the cap league. :p

Wow, bad news out of Washington (for Pat, that is)...

Portis out 8 - 12 weeks with an arm injury.

RB, you're a lucky man.

Well, we got you, Pork, Turi, Spike, MC, CB, and Turi in the league - all, I imagine, very competitive and know their football.

I don't see any of us making that mistake.

And oh yea... I'm in there, just in case you didn't notice.

OK, I went back to CBS Sportsline (where I found the original headline) and now the headline is gone. I looked out for other sources and couldn't find any. Either people are slow on the ball or someone was playing a joke at sportsline - fantasy-related, I imagine.

More news later, probably. Or in Pat's case - hopefully no news.

Portis is not hurt - heard from a source.

I still think RB should make the trade back just in case - I still think this is a test. He might be losing his place in heaven because of this selfish act. :p
