Straight from the Washington Redskins website...

NOTE: News reports that Portis is injured and will miss 8-12 weeks are ERRONEOUS.

Sorry to give you a scare there, Pat!

If you had anybody good on your team, Bad Daddy, I'd make the same joke. Too bad, though... :p

Yeah, Big Daddy. I agree.

I think you should be ashamed of yourself, and furthermore, I think that you should immediately post a retraction.

And, I think you should be penalized 5 points for being out of line.

Commissioner, can we have a ruling here please?

CBS Sportsline retraction...

Portis not injured, as reported by CBS SportsLine.com
Sept. 9, 2004
By Mark Swanson
SportsLine.com Managing Editor

Contrary to a CBS SportsLine breaking news bulletin from CBS Sports insider Billy Devaney, Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis will not miss significant time this season with an injury.

CBS Sports, Devaney and SportsLine.com regret the error, which was prominently displayed on CBS SportsLine's home page for about 5 minutes late Thursday afternoon. It was egregious and, frankly, unforgivable, and we apologize to our readers, Portis and to the Redskins for publishing the misinformation.

Accurate information is a user and reader commodity we take very seriously, and this story did not meet those standards.

Again, please accept our apology.

Yes, by decree of the Commisioner, BDD will automatically lose Week 10.

It is said.

It is done.

Thank God.

It's PC btw, not PP.

Well, I was thinking more Pat's Packers - hence PP...

What, you don't what PP jokes coming at you?

PP jokes like... Looks like PP is coming up short today.

or

PP needs a Bulger on his team (followed by the mandatory "I think they got pills for that" line)

or

etc, etc, etc...

Believe me, this crowd has a million of 'em. :p

But if you want to be PC about it...

You know with football season upon us reminded me of a bet that you and I made last year. I don't believe you ever 'paid that bet off'. Funny, just thought of that today - think about it over the next few days - after this weekend I am going to have to consider the bet cancelled and you to be a Welsher.

We're going to Shula's Steakhouse in Itasca, Illinois - a podunk suburb not too far from where I grew up (at least for high school). It'll take me about 40 minutes to get there.

Shula\'s

Get it, Don Shula's... Don... Shula... OK, that was really bad.

BDD - I am not a welsher. This weekend, I settle ALL Family business.

Oh I most certainly think it did - this was a test and you failed. However I have you know that I am one of God's personal favorites and I can help you out here. To make up for and to continue to remain in his good graces - I think that since we play each other this week that if you let me choose your lineup that will really help your cause.

Think of it this way - either I will (A) pick a good team for you and you win or I will (B) maybe not pick the best team and you will lose

but ....

either of those are better than the alternative which is eternal damnation. Of course if that happens, one good thing about it, is that PL, the old windbag on Fantasy Sports, well he'll be right there with you. He sold his soul to the Satan awhile back - something about the Nets and Fantasy Baseball or something, to be honest I fell asleep when he was telling us about it. I think he will be forced to spend eternity in a locked room with FS in an ongoing fantasy game where only those two play. And that would be hell for both of them. :p

So there is still time to 'right a wrong' so to say.

Glad to hear that - funny how simple bets are never forgotten. Kind of like an a cowboy in the old west - some days you just gotta 'saddle up' and go to places you don't wanna go.

Go get'em Cowboy, yeehaw :p

Oh I am not a Welsher either - see my new title.

Oh if you can - kick Pork in the nuts for me. Tell him that's what he gets for beatin me in the Super Bowl last year. Tell him, I only regret I couldn't do it myself.

While Brady pulled in some nice points for me last night, I was thrilled to see "Edge" got me a whopping total of 4. Gee, thanks.

Bah, let's hope my local boy TH decides to pick up the slack and rack up some points...

btw...when you are looking at your roster on Yahoo, what to the superscript red letters mean? Like Brady had a little red 'P' and McCardell had a "NA"...I'm assuming NA is a News Alert but I dunno about the others...any ideas?

We got our first win last night, 21-6.

I only had 1 catch for 11 yards, but we won.

The best thing about the win may have been the party afterwards.

I have to go to practice now. Every week we have 10 am Saturday practices.

I assume Don Sicilia that all 'family business' is taken care of now.

Notice I used your full name as a new sign of respect instead of the 'Doucebag' term of which you are often referenced by from some others. :p

P.S. Don't forget about kicking Pork in 'mummie-nubbies' for me. See if SC can get of picture of that - please.

I hope that I can change my new title shortly.

Okay, McCardell is benched because Terry Glenn has served me well in years past, and the fact that he is actually on a team and playing :p

McMichael got me 9 points today, dunno whether that's really good or bad for a TE but he had a nice day, 79 rec yards and a TD.
