Apologies if this has already been brought up, but does anyone know why they just pulled the bonus scenes from the TV version rather than using the original footage? Has the footage been lost or destroyed or something?

You can tell it's from the TV version, in case you hadn't noticed, because it's all full screen, the dirty words are cut (Pentangeli says "Fredo, you son of a gun"), and, of course, the credits are superimposed over Kay's candle-lighting scene.
