I was wondering if someone can help me on this one, maybe Harlan Lebo can. I was curious as to why Francis did not include the alternate Fabrizio killing in the DVD set. You know the one where Michael actually kills Fabrizio with his own gun in the pizza parlor.

Mr. Lebo writes of this scene on page 181 of his brilliant book "The Godfather Legacy," and he alo includes photos of the killing on pages 180, 184 and 185. This would have been a phenominal addition to the DVD, and maybe Francis could have spoke about it and why he went with the car bomb in one of the alternate versions (like the Epic).

If film of Michael killing Fabrizio with the Lupara exists, I would love to see it. Can anyone help. In my opinion this was the only thing lacking in the DVD, everything else was brilliant!

I can only surmise that the producer thought death by car bomb was equal justice considering thats how Fabrizzio killed Apollonia. (I believe that death by Fabrizzio's own lupara was a more "personal" touch).

Back when I was in college, and the movie came out, and movie posters were hung throughout the college dorms, one of the most popular was of Michael Corleone wearing his white hat and holding the shotgun. It always surprised me that the scene was never in the movie.

Was it Fabrizzio's own lupara??? or did I misunderstand and you meant it to be the weapon Fabrizzio used frequently?

Yes, although I didn't see neither scene, I agree that the lupara would be one of my favourite killings of Fabrizzio.... (maybe baking him with the rest of the Pizza as an alternative lol )

I'm not sure I understand the difference you're pointing out, Sonny. The lupara used to kill Fabrizzio (in the deleted scene) was the same weapon that Fabrizzio used in guarding Mike in Sicily.

I'm sorry SC......I must've been drunk when I made that post.....I think (as far as I can remember) that I wanted to make a drunken joke that it was Fabrizzio's very own Lupara (the one he carried while protecting Mike........)

Now that I'm sober, I don't find it funny.......sorry that you weren't as drunk, you might have had a good laugh.....
