I think it was a good scene because it showed how embarrased Fredo was that his fear and resentment of Micheal was obvious.
Yes, it was an excellent scene. So were all of them. One of the things I like about the Fredo/Deanna scene is that Fredo pulls up in a '55 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing coupe, a magnificent car in its day, and one of the most valuable collectables now. Fredo must have been doing very well for himself in the "Mickey Mouse nightclub" business!
