Yes, Beltran's very good. He was a great pick by the Mets, although he doesn't seem to be helping them actually win too often.

Glad to hear about the Astros.

Thanks. Just wish things could've been happy for the both of us.

By the way, for Zia, or anyone else interested, FSN is supposed to have some kind of Victory Parade broadcast tomorrow for the Spurs. I think it starts at 8:00, but I'm not certain. Anywho, perhaps a glimpse of Manu?

Oh, and check out these videos! They're a little ways down the page.

Those videos were funny. Poor Manu though, I don't think he got the Wheaties thing.

Oh, I know! Poor Manu! Gotta love the accents they've got going on, though. I love Tony Parker's voice! I never knew he was French until here recently, but he's so cute.

Yeah, I love the accents too.

Eva Longoria gets on my last nerve though... she's so annoying!

Really, why'd they have to put a chick in the video and ruin it for us? Can't I at least pretend Tony doesn't have a siginificant other?

Oh, and in one of the post game interviews last night, a reporter was talking to Manu about how much good has happened to him recently, such as the Olympics, this, and him getting married...I'm happy for him, but it really ruined the moment for me.

I found this page on Manu's site...is it real? It looks as if you can leave him a message and he responds! Seems too good to be true, though. We oughta write him a joint message and see if he replies, but we'll have to control how much we gush over him. If it's real...hmm.

I've recently caught some new commercials for Pepsi featuring A-Rod and Vlad Guerrero that I knew you would enjoy, and I found the page where you can see it!

I could've sworn I saw two, but there seems to be only one on this page? Anyway, you can watch the commercial, and it looks like they have trivia and wallpaper for the two guys, too!

I almost said something...that you probably wouldn't like him being in it...but I refrained. :p Doesn't Alex make up for it, though?

You really hate those Angels, don't you? I'd actually go for a Tim Duncan type personality (though maybe a little more outgoing!), but Rob is just a cutie.

Edit #4: Where are all the ladies? Maybe I've become addicted to the Internet (well, I have...) and can't tell the difference, but it sure seems slower around here.

My Yannkees got their butts kicked again yesterday 10-3.
However, today is Jeter's birthday. Maybe that will bring them some luck. Happy birthday, baby!!

Tony Parker is my favorite basketball player. How cute.

Don't kill me, but who's that in the pic with him?

Gina, weekends are usually dead here. Most people use their boss' time to be online.

SB, did you catch this post of mine earlier? I don't mean to nag; I just wanted to make sure you got to see it.

Happy birthday, Derek!

Bethie, I meant to ask you about Tony, because I was looking back on the first few pages here, and I noticed you mentioned him. I guess back then, I hadn't heard much about him. He's got the cutest face, such a sexy voice, and he's so funny! I don't know who that is in the pic, either...

And thanks for the info about it being less busy on weekends. I figured it could go either way, with more free time on the weekend, but I suppose people choose to spend it elsewhere. Unlike me... I won't be able to come on here near as much when school starts back, but this summer, I haven't done much of anything, so I've been on here nearly 24/7!

I don't follow basketball much, so there's not too many players I know. I just remember seeing him a few times and thought he was cute. Plus he's shorter then most. I gotta root for the runts like me.

The more I look at that pic it kind of looks like Jason Seahorn with him. But I can't imagine what those two would be doing together.

Gina - I did miss that the first time. Thank you. I was especially impressed after reading ARod's bio and learning about the philanthropy he does. He has so many amazing stats, now if he could only get that championship ring. It certainly doesn't look like it's in the cards for this year.

Well, the Yankees were tied with the Mets 1-1 until a minute ago, when the Mets scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th. Well, they have two innings to come back.

You're going to be so proud of me! I've watched nearly their entire game tonight! I was at my grandparents' house helping my grandma organize her photos, so we had the TV on, and my grandpa had it on ESPN right when the game was starting, so I decided to watch it. I don't get too many Yankees games (unless I'm missing them all?), so it was nice to watch any one, but it being up against the Mets made it even better! My grandparents aren't exactly fans of the Yanks (sorry!), but just talking to you has given me a soft spot for them now. I got to see Beltran do nothing at the plate and throw home after a run scored instead of throwing to the cut-off man, so that made my day. Also, I saw a couple of posters for Jeter's BD, as well as Jeter himself (and A-Rod!) which was quite a treat... By the way...what do you think of Joe Morgan as an announcer? Honestly...he drives me nuts. ) chick flicks, but this kind of chick flick I just adore. Tom Hanks as Joe Fox is just the best man you could meet. Well (hopefully not giving away too much), he's mean at first, but he becomes just the perfect guy. And I love when The Godfather is mentioned through this movie. I like Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks coupled up in Sleepless in Seattle, as well, but I think this is my favorite of the two. And I can't help it, but I always cry (or come near crying) at the end. I'm such a chick. Anywho, nothing to do with sports, but have any of you seen this movie?

Edit: And they did it! Congrats, SB!

I was very happy for the Yanks and even more so for Giambi. He's taken such a beating in the press after the whole steroid story broke and people were saying that he should be traded, etc., so I was happy to see him getting his swing back. My favorite part of the game was after Giambi came in and was being congratulated by the team, Joe Torre walked over to him, gave him a hug and kissed him on the cheek. So very Italian!!

I love You've Got Mail. The references to The Godfather are hilarious and I love the whole scene "That caviar is a garnish!". I love how she jsut can't let go of the store because it would mean letting go of her mother, but then she finds a whole new world out there. And that scene in the park, that beautiful garden, and we see the dog, and hear him calling the dog, and then she says "I was hoping it would be you." Sniff, sniff. It's just a sweet and funny film.

I didn't even see Torre kiss Giambi; I'm sure I still had the TV on, but I think I was listening, but not watching. But it does sound very Italian! That was really good for Giambi to be able to come through.

You completely are with me on You've Got Mail! All the scenes and parts you mentioned are just great!

I read on imdb.com that Tom Hanks (probably not him, himself, but someone) got one of his Godfather quotes wrong.

(From imdb.com: Joe misquotes The Godfather (1972): When Joe Fox and Kathleen Kelly first meet at the cocktail party, Joe says, "I didn't know who you were with," quoting the movie producer Jack Woltz. The actual line is, "Why didn't you tell me you were with the Corleone family?")

When I first heard it, it did sound a little odd, but I figured I just had forgotten the movie. I love when he imitates Brando, though...

That's it! That's what sends me over the edge and running for a box of tissues! Well, maybe not that bad, but it is just the sweetest scene. The expressions that are on Meg Ryan's face are just incredible. And yes, "I was hoping it would be you"...AW! And the scene right before that, when Hanks tells her that if he hadn't been Fox Books, and she hadn't been Shop Around the Corner, they would've ended up together...and you look at her face, and you can tell she wanted that...!

It's such a bittersweet film. When she is emailing him and writes that she had to close the store and that it was like losing her mother all over again, or when she is writing about all the Christmas ornaments, it is just so sad. Yet, there are so many very cute scenes, like her quirky boyfriend, or when he's stuck in the elevator with his girlfriend and the other odd people. Ever since I saw that movie, I twirl my daughter (soon to be 11, and getting too big now) so that maybe she'll have that memory one day.

Right now, the Yankees are playing at Baltimore and the score is tied at the bottom of the 4th and there are two outs. Dam! Gibbons just hit a single.

Oh, I know, the parts about her mother are so sad, yet sweet. I love how proud she looks of the "twirling" picture as she tells Joe about it, and I think that is so sweet that you do that with your little girl!

I guess Joe's girlfriend plays her part well, because I find myself really becoming disgusted with her. And I always laugh at the TV show scene with Kathleen's boyfriend slobbering all over the host ("Thank your." ). "Birdie" cracks me up, as well; they've got good supporting characters.

Close game for your boys!

Top of the 9th and they're winning 5-4, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Cano just scored on Sheff's single RBI. ARod's up (sigh, swoon). He is just not playing well lately. And now comes Matsui. Go, go Godzilla!!

Who's this "Casey Under the Lights" guy they keep showing at MLB\'s site ? Apparently you can order his talk show or something, but you can also listen to it live? Anyway, he looks cute in the picture...

Edit: And now it's not there! I was going to try to get the pic here somehow.

Edit 2: Ah-ha!

Very small, but you get the idea.

Oh, no! What happened, SB?

My Astros are really stressing me out. It was a great game through the seventh, with Clemens pitching wonderful, as usual. Morgan Ensberg even got a slammy, and we were ahead 5-1. Then, our relievers took over. In one inning, they've managed to give up 5 runs, including a slammy. Now we're down 6-5, and I'm just hoping we can get a win.

Stupid pitchers!! Wang pitched a good game, then Flash Gordon comes in in the 7th and gives up the lead, we tie it, and then go into extra innings. Mike Stanton gives up a home run with his first pitch. Yankees lose. I hate Mike Stanton!!!
