I love the bear one! I don't know why, but he reminds me of Fonzie in that picture...

Let BDD explain that one, he has the most fun with it. [/b][/quote]So the Mopsie and Flopsie saga ... Well you have seen the BB version of it. PL in a PM gave me the sordid details of which I cannot fully explain to you as you still under the age of legal consent. So the short 'clean' version is that while on a 'business trip' to Vegas PL was scheduled to have dinner with La Dolce Vita. She had been looking to get together with him for dinner since she owed him two from previous baseball bets. Her friend Crabby told me later that she believe LDV lost the bet on purpose but that has never been confirmed. Anyway LDV stands PL up for an opportunity to go hmm 'horse back riding' and PL was left to fend for himself in the city that never sleeps. He describes that story as a coming of age for a young man. Most of us giggle at the young man part but that is not the point. He meets these two ladies at night, guess you could call them ladies of the night and the rest is hmmm for mature audiences only. A few lines of dialog from the PM that I could probably post are;

PL - Maybe later I'll show why I'm the Fantasy King

Mopsie - Me Love You Long Time ...

Flopsie - You want happy ending - that will cost extra ...

I believe you can fill in the gaps - remember though what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas so we only get snippets of the actual story.

Hope this helps .... :p

Probably more than I ever needed to know, but now I do, I guess.

Thanks.

Yea, SB!

Well, my guys split their doubleheader yesterday. Then I tried to say that the 4th of July is all about eating hot dogs and watching baseball, and while it is just the 3rd, baseball still needs to be watched.

Thank goodness for the fact that I have cable channel WGN and the Nats are playing The Cubbies. I get to actually watch a Nationals game.

But I was out earlier and didn't catch the 1st inning, so I missed Vinny's double.

Beth, I saw most of the 12th inning today! I went with my parents to visit a couple they know, like I said, and I was desperate for baseball. I had headphones on the whole trip there to hear my Astros, and then later on, I caught your Nats on TV, just too late. Seriously, I'd never heard of him, and he's just so cute, and then I saw your Vinny...

This is him...Ronny Cedeno:

He's only 22! And I think, like many guys, he looks much better on the field than in his mugshot.

Gina, I've noticed that about some players. As handsome as ARod is, there aren't that many really good photos of him. I guess they're just like everyone else, some are more photogenic than others.

And the Yankees won again yesterday! If they can beat Baltimore today, that would be very helpful!

Yeah, Ronny definitely looked better in his AB than his pic. He looked sort of like good ol' Benny the Jet. And I love his name! Reminds me of Moonstruck...

Good luck to your boys! I'm hoping for an Astros win for the team and for fantasy ball (well, at least good pitching for fantasy).

Beth, your Nats better beat Beltran's sorry team!

Have y'all done the All-Star Game Final Vote thing? I think there are five players from each league, and you get a chance to add on these players last minute by voting, apparently. I voted for Roy Oswalt and Derek Jeter (for you, SB!) several times. If y'all do it, and if you don't have a particular pick for NL, could you get some votes in for Roy? I'd love for him to make it, and I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: I've found the Yankees on TV! Oh joy! Now I get to watch A-Rod and Jeter...

Do you mean this is the first time you've posted here? :p Part, thank you so much for voting for my guy, and 25 times, at that! You are a sweetie. And I just read on MLB's main page that Jeter and Oswalt are leading, so that's good to hear. Thanks!

My man didn't make it. I may have to boycot the game.

My job can't say I'm not dedicated. I'm at work when I'm sick as a pack of dawgs. My ears hurt; my neck hurt; my throat is killing me; I've got a fever and body aches. I actually have goose bumps, and the heat index outside is over 100 degrees. This news about Vinny did not make my day any better.

It's just a popularity contest, Bethie, and all the "popular" players always steal the show, so don't worry about Vinny not making it. You're still his true fan, and that's all that matters.

Sorry you're feeling so bad! It's terrible just to be sick, but when you have to keep up with all of your work and social stuff, as well, it's not very fun. And the heat rarely helps.

To make you feel better:

Beth, Sorry you're sick and hope that you're feeling better by the time you read this.

Gina, glad you got to check out the Yankees. It was a pretty exciting game. And they won again today!!! I think this may just put them in 2nd place. Just voted for Jeter and Roy a whole bunch of times, btw. ARod is already in, but we can still vote for Jeter and Roy.

SB, I didn't get to catch the Yankees game today, but Giambi certainly helped me out in fantasy baseball!

Thanks so much for voting for Roy. It's much appreciated! I went through one "limit" of voting, and I've now created new info to keep voting... Let's make these boys all-stars!

Sorry to be just talking to myself on here, but I just read at MLB's site that Podsednik takes first ahead of Jeter!!!

The voting ends tonight...I'm going to try to get some more votes in for both our guys!

Thanks for the well wishes gals. I actually have been in bed sick since Tuesday. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I am soooooooooooooo out of the sports loop. I have no idea what's going on. You know I'm sick if I haven't had ESPN on for 3 days.

Beth, hope you're starting to recover. Jeter didn't make the All Stars either, which is just plain silly.

SB, I was sad to hear about Jeter not making it...

I made a post in the fantasy baseball thread about my recent trip to an Astros game last night, and I posted pictures, but I thought y'all might like to see them posted here, as well. I actually was lucky, and got to go to today's game, as well, so I'll try to host those pictures and link them here, too. Here are last night's pictures:

I found this Willy Taveras picture on an Astros message board, and I thought it was so cute that I made it my desktop.

Gina,
Great photos!! Glad you got to see them play. My boys lost last night, and they are losing right now. However, Matsui just scored and they are only losing 2-1 and it is pretty early in the game.

SB, I see your boys won today!

Mine did, as well, so that was a good 1st half end for the both of us.

I actually missed most of the game (my friends came over to "raid my fridge," supposedly...I felt like Seinfeld... ), but FSN usually plays a replay late at night, so I'm hoping for that. Apparently Willy Taveras made a great play at the end, because he came running in from center with this huge, very cute smile on his face!

Glad you enjoyed the pictures. I was thinking about creating an entire thread here in in the sports section for people to post pictures from live games they've attended, but I'm not sure if many would have photos. I've been to three more besides the game I posted pictures from here, as well as some last season that I might have some from, so I've got lots I'd like to share. Do you think I should make an entire thread?
Well, there was no reason to lie, here. :p Though I think the guys there enjoyed it, too....

I guess they just like seeing pictures of "our" men... Not that there's anything wrong with that... :p
----
Morgan Ensberg is now an All-Star! Apparently Scott Rolen backed out at the last minute, and Tony LaRussa chose Big Mo as the replacement! Everyone felt he was completely snubbed for not being chosen, so I'm really happy he's getting to play, now.
----
Gals, I mentioned that I was going to watch the replay of last night's game to try to catch whatever happened at the end that I missed. Well, I caught the replay, and taped it, feeling it would be something I'd want on video. Anyway, it'll probably show up on MLB.com as a highlight, soon, anyway, but I actually recorded it with a camera off of my TV so I could show it here... ), and it was just amazing. Note Willy T's cute smile! (Sorry for the bad quality, but at least y'all can see it, I guess...)
