God, I miss the Rocket. We sure could use him back. Everyone was talking about the lack of Yankee pitching, but in the past two seasons, we lost Andy, Roger and El Duque. They were the backbone of the Yankee bullpen, and have yet to be replaced. Now, with the addition of Wang to the DL, I really don't know what they'll do.

I honestly don't know how we managed to get Roger and Andy, but I've been very happy to have them. I don't know where we'd be without them (well, Andy's had injury troubles, but regardless...), because pitching is sometimes the only thing keeping our team together.

Part, You'd think that with all the time you devote to the garden, the pond, Charlie, etc., you would have a little less "energy". What the hell were you like when you were 17?

PS Notice I didn't answer your question.

Part, you broke my heart. Or, you're breaking my heart.

We need to just stop talking to each other when the 'Stros and Cards are playing, if you can't act like a man about it! :p

Clemens has a 0.20 road ERA, so hopefully that'll count for something today. I'm not going to discuss his ERA against St. Louis, because that's not quite as impressive.

If I trust anyone for the job, it's Rocket. I sure hope they can at least pull off one win, but if they don't...go easy on me.

SB and I have reason to hang out here...

...as she says, to talk about the "athletic prowess" of our favorite ball players!

What about you? Huh? If you just wanted to make fun of the Astros, you could do that anywhere...you seem like you can't get away from here, though.

Yeah, it's adorable. I couldn't find any pic of a small enough size that I could use as an avatar that showed a close up of his face. I guess I'll have to settle seeing him holding his wood.

How 'bout this one I found on his personal web site?

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Hey, Geoff's pulling a Bad Daddy and is hacking into people's computers.

That message must be pretty old considering he's in a Brave's uniform. :p

Sure you are! If so, you'd let us win at least one or two in this series, because we really needed them, whereas y'all have practically clinched, anyway.

Baseball is killing me. Too much stress. And stupid fantasy along with it does not help. Willy even made the last out.

End of my whine alert. Well, probably not, but I'll stop being a baby for now. Did you have to resize it or something, or was it already sized correctly? I'm not familiar with avatars, but maybe I'll try making one for Willy.

It was already that size. Pardon the stupidity, but who's Willy? I'll look for a pic that you can use for your avatar.

Geoff! That certainly cheered me up! It's perfect.

Bethie, I don't think Willy's very well-known, anyway, but he's Willy Taveras, our rookie CF on the 'Stros.

Yes, you've got to get Jeter! Try those pics Bethie posted...they're very nice! We'll start a ladies' thread fad, here.

Well, I'm watching the Yanks game tonight. All those ESPY award commercials got me geared up for a full day of baseball, so I'm excited about it. Plus, I got Jeter and Mirabelli on fantasy. I don't think I've ever watched the ESPYs, but I'll take a look at it tonight...any of y'all ever watch it before?

The second pic looks more like A Rod. But in the properties it says it's Jeter.

SB, exactly my thoughts. I make a post and end up just staring at my avatar instead of moving on... Now, I'll be staring at your avatar, too! Close game for y'all, tonight! I was sad Jeter didn't get me any fantasy points, but I just can't get mad at him!

Beth, guess what? My close friend's sister is going to catch the Astros/Nationals game this Friday! She's an Astros fan, but she's going with three friends who are Nats fans. My friend isn't really into baseball, and she told me she'd been trash talking the Nats fans, and I warned her that we might run into trouble in the series...especially with how the past series went. I also told her I knew someone that is a huge fan of Vinny... I wish I could go...I've always wanted to catch a 'Stros road game.

Part...thanks. You are a good sport.

Edit: Completely off topic from sports, but I have a new addition to the ladies' thread: David Blaine

I was watching one of his "street magic" shows, tonight.

I wish I could tell your friend "good luck", but I wouldn't mean it..hahaha. I think The Nats do all right as long as they don't play The Brewers. They're the team we played when I went to the game, and they beat us this weekend. I also wish I could see the game. We still the The Nats games blocked here in Baltimore.

Oh, I didn't expect you to wish 'em good luck...it's not personal, it's business!

I just thought it was so cool they're getting to go! I'm still planning my baseball stadium tour of the country, and currently, I'm just working on the budget.

So no Nats games at all for you? That's terrible. Have you ever looked into one of those things on mlb.com's page? I think you can pay to watch them online, but I'm not sure how fair the prices are.

Yeah, I've seen mlb.com where you pay to watch it. If I'm gonna pay for it, I want to watch it on tv..not a tiny computer screen. I think Peter Angelos has a deal in the works for a local pay per view channel for The Orioles and The Nats. I'm on a strict budget, and my cable/internet bill is now $105.00 a month. Unless I get a sugar daddy I doubt that I'll get anything else that costs money.

It's definitely a huge extra expense...and like you said, a computer screen isn't the best place to watch a game. I get most of my games on TV, but when I don't, I'll sometimes end up just watching GameDay (I'm surprised they don't charge for this!) at my computer and listening on the radio. Drives me nuts, though.

Marry Vinny? Is bigamy legal in Mexico? I hope so.

I'll settle for just being his mistress.
