Well, at least Jeter's not married!! Beth, I always wanted a sugar daddy. That would be a nice, if shallow, life. Just hang around in your fabulous apartment, and your only job is looking good and waiting for him to show up. There could be worse things.

The Yankees are playing the Rangers. Bottom of the 3rd and the Yankees are winning 6-5. Soriano just scored a two-run homerun.

We won ours 11-1!

Well, I sure wish we could've sacrificed some of those runs for the Cardinals series, but I'm just glad our offense finally woke up! Willy was hit by a pitch, but he seemed to be okay...hope so!

SB, I've always wished we could have Fonzie on our team...almost had him for fantasy, too. Hope your guys can pull off the win!

Oh, I just realized the Yanks are on TV for me!

Poll question for the ladies:
On the ball players, do you like socks/pants rolled up to the knees or worn all the way down?

I'm not even sure how many players do this, but I know some of my 'Stros do (like Willy T!), sometimes, and I think it's cuter.

(Edit: Uh-oh...tied game!)

I guess if I had my pick I'd say the pants rolled all the way down. Rolled up to the knees looks too 1950's ish. I don't know, it just looks snobbish to me for some reason.

Roll them down!! I've noticed that most of the Yankees wear them rolled down, so I may be prejudiced.

Sorry about your boys, SB.

My guys swept their doubleheader today...very exciting! I'm hoping the Cardinals were just a speed bump and that we can keep up the good play, now.

I guess my sock preference is biased by Willy... But he's worn it both ways, and I really do like socks up better on him...

Gina - Glad to hear that Houston's doing well. The Yankees are starting a pitcher tonight that hasn't had a major league start since the 1990's. And it's not like he had the greatest record then!! It should be a nightmare.

I saw y'all's pitcher when I was doing fantasy last night...I was wondering what the deal was with him. Well, good luck, regardless; perhaps the offense can pull off a win, even if he doesn't pitch well!

My guys had an early game today, so hopefully I'll find some baseball on TV tonight to keep me busy.

Willy Taveras was ejected from today's game! He was trying to beat the throw to first, and he did beat it (I thought he did, at first, and the replay made it certain), but the ump called him out. Willy turned around and threw down his helmet when he heard the call (I was surprised at that...and apparently you get a fine if you throw equipment), and then the ump ejects him from the game!!! Phil Garner, our manager, came out to argue the call, and he gets thrown out, too! I was annoyed that they were thrown out, but it was sort of nice to see some spirit in the guys...Willy was definitely showing some fire!

The same thing happened to Sheffield not too long ago. He threw his helmet, was ejected, and I think he was fined.

Small did pretty well tonight. I was actually quite surprised. The Yankees Win!!!!!

Washington is no longer in first place.

Sorry Gina. But your boys picked the wrong time to be playing The Nats. I'm afraid I have to put a voodoo on The Rocket. Hopefully he'll crash and burn.

It's nothing personal. It's only business.

I'm just about going crazy because I just realized I won't even get to watch the game. It starts at six, and I've got something to go to at seven that I completely forgot about...it'll probably take up the exact middle of the game, where it's not worth watching just the beginning and end.

I would say you could put a hex on Vinny, but I'm not sure if he'll be playing. Earlier this week he was given a couple days off to nurse his bad knee he's had all year. So he might not even be in the game.

Poor baby. I wonder if he needs a total body massage.

I remember hearing about him missing a game...forgot where, but now that you've reminded me of the knee thing, it makes sense.

Maybe if you're distracted with massaging Vinny, you'll forget the hex.

Vinny will be back in action starting Tuesday night, against his old homies, The Braves. His knee won't be 100%, but he should do good. He's always done his best work at Turner Field I think.

It's funny. I first became a Vinny fan when he was with The Braves. But since he's left, along with Javy Lopez, who really is there? The Jones' boys and the midget?

See. I give Vinny his full body massage, and now he's almost back in business. The heck with the 14-1 loss The Nats took the other night. A woman has to have her priorities in check.

Beth, when Vinny came in late in today's game, I thought to take a picture of him off the TV on my camera for you to see, so you could have a "live game" picture. Unfortunately, this idea didn't come to mind until what would be the last 2 pitches of his AB. I ran to get my camera and had the perfect chance, but it ended up coming out bad.

Anyway, just to show you I tried, here's the picture .

I've tried taking pictures off of TV before, and I know they don't come out in the best quality, but I think it's fun, 'cause you can get such a variety of shots.

Glad to see the massage healed him!

Wow! They put him in today's game? My healing touch works quicker then I thought!

See what happens when Vinny's missing in action. They fall out of first, they can't seem to find their bats, there's chaos in the streets.

Thanks for the attempt Gina. It actually doesn't look that bad of a pic. Now watch. They play The Braves and TNN shows all The Braves games. I bet Peter Angelos will have them block the Games on tv. I hate that bastid.

Hey Gina, I was watching The Insider, or one of those rag tv shows today and Eva Longoria was on there. There's some kind of charity thing her and Tony are doing, so I guess she was on to promote that. But in the interview Eva stated how she's taking French lessons because Tony and most of his friends and family speak French. She wants to be able to carry on coversations with them. It's funny how about a week ago they were still hiding their relationship, now she's coming out with tidbits like this.

And, yes...I am watching gossip shows. I'm on vacation this week so I'm indulging myself.

See that? Vinny's the backbone of that team! What's terrible is that, a while back, my brother mentioned to me that the Astros begin their "turnaround" from their terrible start right around when Jeff Bagwell was taken out for his surgery...yet it did seem to make sense!

Hmm...wonder if it has anything to do with him being on the championship Spurs? Okay. That's the jealousy talking, I guess. Well, now we know, all we have to do is learn French!

Gossip shows are such guilty pleasures...I claim I hate them (sometimes, I do, I guess), but I usually still end up watching them.

A ladies' thread announcement, from the Spurs site:
Thu, Jul 28 Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Manu. We missed Vinny's. His is July 4th. He's just a good ole American boy at heart.

I agree with you about Eva and she's being public with Tony because they won. I don't know any hollywood diva that would want to be seen with a loser on her arm.
