Looks like it's opposite, today, SB! I'm glad y'all won, but I hope my guys can turn this around.

Bethie, where are you?

I've been wondering where she's been, too, but it is summer, so maybe she's away. Maybe she and Zia are lounging on the beach in Sicily, while we're here!!

I hope you guys turn it around, too. Maybe they should just keep playing the Mets!!

If they're in Sicily, where were our invitations?!

Another loss last night. Poor Andy made a few mistakes then got into a pretty good groove, but our offense just went dead.

I hope the Wizard can help us out today - without giving JG too many fantasy points, that is.

I found this picture on the Astros MLB site - Taveras is apparently one of our nominees for the Hank Aaron award, along with Ensberg and Biggio!

I cropped it out, because it was such a cute picture of him!

Looks like your nominees are Jeter, Sheff, and A-Rod!

I guess I'm in the mood for photos! I posted in the random post thread about how I got to borrow a CD from a relative called "Oh Say Can You Sing?" - a collection of music recordings of MLB players - and I've just finished listening to the whole CD and watching the nice special feature DVD that came along with it. It is so cool how these guys got together to do this, and they have some real talent. It was a great variety of music styles, and the DVD part had "behind-the-scenes" type stuff that was so cute.

I "discovered" Coco Crisp through this, as well. "Discovered," meaning, I'd never realized what a cutie he is!

Not only is he cute, but he's a heck of a player and has, without a doubt, THE COOLEST NAME EVER!!

My boys lost yesterdy, but the only consolation is that so did the Red Socks (sorry SC!). They are winning right now in Toronto, so that's a good thing.

We were in the lounge yesterday, and they were showing the scores on the TV, and I saw that Houston had lost. I said to JG, "Gina's going to be pissed!" and he replied, "So am I! I had them for fantasy ball!".

I read that Coco is short for Covelli, I think, but "Coco" is very nice! I love his smile.

Looks like your boys won today - I'm watching mine, now. We've been lucky to stay one ahead in the WC so far, despite our losses, so I hope we can keep that spot.

It was so nice to see a picture of you in the BB Weekend thread! I'd actually imagined you looking almost the same! You and your husband make a lovely couple.

Oh, thanks for thinking of me when you saw the Houston score. I was worried about lack of offense, so I didn't go with them for fantasy, but I was willing to "allow" JG some points because I still wanted a win. Didn't work out well for either of us.

I finally came across someone else who loves Willy Taveras. And now I'm extremely jealous. A girl came to my web page last night and commented, talking about how much she loves the Astros and how she does the same kind of things that I do, such as taking pictures and video of the guys off the TV. I went to her page, and I think she's got me beat on being a fan. She's crazy about Brandon Backe, Brad Ausmus, Morgan Ensberg - ones that most girls already like - but then I see that she loves Willy, too. She had pictures of him that were definitely "stalker-distance" and I could've cried at the thought of her being so close! One was where he was signing, and I've never seen him signing. Another was the fan thing, and he was in "regular" clothes, and he looked so cute.

I think I might post some of them here...I don't think she'd mind.

*sigh* Someday I'll get this close, I hope.

Gina, thank you for your very kind words. You're a sweetie!

I see that both of our teams won today. Hooray!! Unfortunately for the Yankees, so did Boston. Oh, well!

Those are some very cool pics. He's looking good!

I'm glad you had a good time, there, too - though isn't that expected?!

Sorry y'all couldn't gain ground, but at least a win still keeps you where you are! I was watching the Cubs/Mets game and had to root for the Cubs since they're farther behind in the WC race...it was the lesser of two evils, I guess. Anyway, I switched to the Godfather!

Man. I've always said I love guys in baseball uniforms, but when I see a player in regular clothes, it's so cute. I can't get over that!

Are you sure you're just a "spy"?

If it weren't for your wispy little beard, you could be a very ugly woman. :p

JG,
What do you expect, lurking in the Ladies Thread?? Although we do talk about our favorite teams, we sometimes do get sidetracked by the, how shall I say it? By the way that certain players fit in their uniforms.

Btw, I think you have a lovely personality, and an excellent sense of humor...

Would you rather I said, "Why Geoff, I think you're a very pretty girl?" Now, stop spying in the Ladies Thread!! It's like the little boy that looked up all the little girls' dresses.

My Yankees are winning, but barely. Mussina did well, but started unraveling in the 6th.

ARod was just in a commercial speaking Spanish. I don't know what he said, but he sure looked pretty while he was saying it!!

It looks like PL was smart enough to post and run, but that pesky JG wanted to hang around and post in our thread!! We probably have cooties now!!

As I said, I was glad to see the Yankees win, since Chicago is kicking such serious butt this season. They are truly awesome, so I sort of half-expected the Yankees to get swept. It was a nice start. Let's hope they can keep it up for the next two games with them.

Eww...cooties!

I'm sure the Yanks could get on a roll, easily. I was getting worried about the 'Stros because, here recently, their offense just went dead - it was like I could "sense" they'd have trouble scoring runs. But they got seven runs in two innings to win the game against the Giants yesterday, so hopefully that woke them up.

Along with some of the other fantasy gamers that gambled as I did, I had a terrible day with that, thanks to the Florida/Colorado doubleheader, but Florida losing both games will help my guys' chances in the WC. Gotta put my boys first.

Good luck to them! I'm going to miss about half of the game tonight because of Band. I wanted to tape it and watch it later, but I have to get to bed early.

That's usually a problem when the Yankees have late games in September/October. My daughters say that all the kids walk around in a daze the next day.

That's good the schools have dedicated fans, there! I'll always remember that the summer before this one, I was taking Driver's Ed classes early in the morning - one particular week, we were playing a West coast team (Giants or Dodgers, I think), and I just came into class hardly able to open my eyes. I don't know how I convinced my mom to let me watch them!
