Mig, Cool! My Yankees won again today, in what seemed like the longest game ever. They had not one but two rain delays. The game went on for hours.

It's lovely when everyone's teams win. The Nats won today..woo hoo. Although I always have to wait to find out the scores on ESPN. I'm just glad with them playing at Coors field that they were the ones with the big bats and not The Rockies. I wonder how Vinny felt going back to his old stopping grounds. At least his teammates got a win for him. So I'm sure he was happy.

I watched the pathetic O's game on tv just to see how they would react to Raffy's first at bat since he's been back. He got both cheers and boos. I think it was 50/50. How ironic that he was the last batter in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and runners on and he could have tied it up. Of course he got an out. If he would have won the game I'm sure all would have been forgiven. Baltimore is such a fickle town.

My daughter went to the game Friday, I was hoping she would see if Raffy played and how the crowd would react. She actually hates The Orioles worse then I do. She's a Yankee fan. She only went because a friend of her's was paying and she would drink for free. I just reminded her she's only 20 and if she gets caught I want no phone calls. At least it wasn't 200 degrees out that night.

Welcome Back, Beth!! If it wasn't for the occasional drop in from Mig, or a yukky boy-spy, Gina and I were going to rename this as our own personal thread!!

The last time we went to a game in NY was a few years ago. It was beastly hot and my daughter thought that the game was over because the crowd cheered at the end of the national anthem, and she asked to go home. The last two games we went to were in Toronto. Perfect weather for baseball up there!!

I've actually been bad when it comes to going to baseball games. I went to the one Nationals game this year. Other then that I went to an Orioles game about 11 years ago. When I was younger, and The Orioles didn't suck, it was a ritual for my family to go to games. There used to be a thing called Junior Orioles where kids would get a packaged deal to go to about 4 games a year. You got your ticket, plus coupons for food. They were usually bleacher seats, but you could actually afford to go to games. That's also when it was at Memorial Stadium. I miss that place. It had a family feel to it. Not like Camden Yards which gear more to the big shots.

Now if The Nats make it to the wildcare race.....I'll be seeing what I can do to score me some tickets.

It has gotten soooo expensive. My husband was given Mets tickets a few years ago, so we decided to take the kids. By the time we paid for parking, lemonade, hot dogs, ice cream, etc. (thank God we're Yankee fans, or we would've had to buy souvenirs, too), we spent over $100, and we didn't have to buy the tickets!! Tickets at Sky Dome are much more reasonable, and it doesn't all cost a fortune. Plus, the US dollar went pretty far in Canada.

Beth! So good to see you posting again! We missed having you around, and we needed extra defense against those mean boy spies.

I can remember going to games at the Astrodome with my mom and brother, and we'd get tickets for about two dollars from a local grocery store - I'm not sure if that deal was just for kids, but we got some great prices back then, and we'd go a lot. Now, we try to look for coupons (Minute Maid products offer some), and we just get really cheap seats unless we can get some nice ones free from a relative. I rarely buy food at the games...it's just not worth it, considering the high prices. Parking can be tough, as well.

My guys lost today. Once again, zero offense, but eight runs would've been hard to catch up to, anyway.

My son won 2 tickets to see the Cleveland Indians play. I told him to feel free to take his mom.

Has an older brother Pablo, and an older sister Elizabeth

He and older brother Pablo played the same character (at different ages) in "The Sandlot."

Where are they now - (June 2002) Firefighter in Hollywood"

I guess Pablo played him in the end, on the Dodgers? Cool! And he's a firefighter? Wow.

Here's the mian page on him, with the other movies he's been in.

Good Picture Page
It has him in Sandlot, Mighty Ducks, then "Just Mike" alone. Maybe the JM pics are older?

Gorgeous eyes!!!

Okay. I can tell why I like him. For one thing, anything pertaining to baseball in a guy's interests makes him twice as attractive to me. If he plays ball (and can play good!), likes baseball, is a baseball fan, etc., so Mike as Benny is very attractive to me.

Another reason (which might be why I like his younger pics better) is because he seems like the "guy down the street" that I only can dream lived near me. I just imagine how awesome it would be if my cousins, brother, and I still went out every night to play ball like we used to (in our empty lot...just with grass, not sand), and he was our neighbor and came and played with us, too. I guess this is more admiration of Benny than Mike (unless he's the same), but how I would love to play under the fireworks on the Fourth of July and have him out there on the field with us, being good friends, just like they are on the movie. *sigh* I'll keep waiting for him to show up on my doorstep with a glove, asking me to play. [/b]
Hello! Sorry for dragging this picture back up but I just came across this thread this morning and this picture remembered me of The Mighty Ducks I loved these movies!! They inspired me to take up street hockey when I was younger...I got quite good and was asked to join a local ice hockey team, I didn't join..I regret not joining to this day because now its drifted away from me

But gosh he is such a cutie!!

I think beings The Nats are a new team, and they play at RFK, which is not a sports stadium, the tickets were a little cheaper. We had $10.00 tickets, which weren't too bad. Early on I gave someone $5.00 to get me a soda...and got NO change back. $5.00 for a lousy bottled soda. I think I would have preferred the $5.00 shake Uma Thurman had in Pulp Fiction. Then I gave my daughter $20.00 to get her some chicken fingers and me a hot dog and nachos. I got $1.50 back. There were 4 guys sitting in fron of us who brought beer. $24.00 for 4 beers. $6.00 a beer? I don't think so. NOt when a six pack is $5.25. Now if I had to pay that to see The Orioles I would have marched into Angelos' office to get my money back. But Vinny was worth every penny.

It really stinks that they made this sport so inaccessible to so many. It's ridiculous.

I'm watching the Yankees right now. ARod just hit a two-run homer off of the catwalk down in Tampa. He is just having the best season.

There's no good baseball on tv now. It sucks that I can't see The Nats. I can only take so much of watching The O's. I'm watching The Eagles/Steelers pre-season football game. More then anything to see what the announcers say about the T.O situation.

I've just seen the freakiest looking guy. In watching The Eagles/Steelers game there's a guy on defense for The Steelers named Troy Polamalu. He's got this mangled mop of what should be hair sticking out of his helmet. It looks more like a wet dog in need of a grooming.

This guy definately doesn't belong on our babe list.

He makes Johnny Damon look well-groomed! YUK! I must admit that I just can't get into football. I find it so tedious, especially those last three minutes that last half an hour!

Debz, that's really cool you got into hockey! Even though you didn't keep going, it's nice you got to try it! And there's nothing wrong with you reviving Mike Vitar's pictures...

Man, I feel so out of touch with this thread, now, what with school and homework, but I'll be catching up whenever I can! Good to see so many gals posting!

SB, A-Rod certainly helped me in fantasy, tonight!

I agree with Gina on this one, Debz. It's always nice to look at Mike Vitar.

ARod has been playing so well, Gina, that he's positively delightful, although he's pretty much always a delight. I wish that I could get into fantasy ball, but I just can't seem to get it. I think I'm just too impatient. You guys sure have fun, though, don't you?

Fantasy ball is a lot of fun!

I apologize if I've been going on about it too much, here. I think I've already mentioned it too many times to my friends at school, but things always come up in coversation that remind me of something about it - my lineup, an upcoming doubleheader, who's been good, etc.

I'm just worried about having time for it with school, now, but hopefully I'll manage.

My boys won 12-4 last night, which was great, but I missed a lot of the game due to homework.

My guys lost in extra innings. What can you do?? They can't win every game, although you think they'd be able to against Tampa.

You definitely do NOT speak too much about fantasy ball. I lurk over in the thread, and you guys seem to have a blast.

Glad your guys won.

Agh, my boys lost last night. And it doesn't help to have a Scrubs fan playing fantasy ball, either.[/test to see if CS spies here]

Oh, nobody, Don Sicilia. Just this really rude guy who seriously roots for the Cubs...can you imagine that?! (I figured we could count you in as another boy spy. )

I'm thinking that with all this trash talk, I must be jinxing my guys somehow. Glad I didn't take Roy on fantasy, or I'd have twice the stress tonight.

Didn't we say, "NO BOYS ALLOWED!"?

Sorry about your loss tonight - I saw it was tied 5-5 earlier, so it must've been close. We lost, as well, and we had some good chances to win it, so that was tough. Gotta move on, though.

It's not so bad if you just simply get your butt kicked, but when you're winning 5-2, and then the bullpen giftwraps the game and hands it over two nights in a row, it's positively maddening. You would think it was June again!!

Fantasy-wise? A-Rod all the way. The guy is a threat to hit a homerun everytime he's up to bat - a surefire hall-of-famer and arguably the best player in the game in the last 10 years.

Ooohhh, you meant that fantasy... I can't believe you ladies - objectifying guys like this. I, on the other hand, post pictures of women on the baseball thread strictly because I admire their personalities and contributions to society. :p

And SB, I don't have cooties. I took pills for it and the doctor said it's all cleared up!

Yeah I know Go us School Kids!! I can tell from the first 3 days there is going to be a whole lot of it, which I am dreading because I can NEVER get motivated to do it !! Sounds like you’ve got your History stuff pretty well organised though…I wonder how long it will last though! I am always really organised at the beginning of the year and towards the middle it begins to slip! Sounds like you’ve got a really busy schedule, but your classes sound cool I wish I had taken History instead of Geography . This year I am going to be really busy as I am sitting English, Accounting, Art & Design, Geography and Travel & Tourism. Along with all that I have part time work 2 nights a week and one morning or afternoon at the weekend. I will also be starting my driving lessons so I will have one hour lesson a week and I am still hoping to squeeze in an hour at the gym 2 nights a week!! I don’t know how much more of this I can take!! Do you have any idea of what you want to go on to do once you leave school??
