:p

I deleted my comment when I realized that Bethie's whole sentence was making innuendo on purpose. Bethie almost never does that.

I am glad you're following the dress code though.

Gina, Sorry I wasn't the first, but Congrats, my friend!! So glad for you (and the Astros of course). I know that they consider themselves true Texans, but, to me, Andy and Rocket will always be Yankees. Therefore, I must admit that I was rooting for them. On to Chicago!!!

Edited to add: Ralph was too tired! Hee!!

Thanks to all of my lady (and non-lady!) friends for being so sweet about the Astros and for saying such kind words. I love having this thread to talk baseball with such wonderful people!

Zia: Thanks! Oh, I hope they can go all the way, but I think that just getting where we are now is huge. It's just crazy to think about how historical this is.

CS: Thanks!

This made my day. Thank you so much for that. So, who are ya rooting for? I have a Band friend who lived in Chicago until he was about three or four, and he's been teasing me constantly about how he'll be rooting for the Sox, even though he likes the Astros. And, apparently he found two socks in the Band room today (there's always clothes everywhere due to marching practice), and he had them hanging on my locker until my cousin took them down...white socks...see?

Bethie: Thank you for the congrats and the sweet article! I didn't notice any innuendo in your post, though. I really am proud of my Willy, though. How lucky and exciting for him to be in the WS his first season when Biggio had to wait eighteen!

SB: Thank you so much. You're one of my favorite Yankee fans (besides Geoff!) because you're always such a good sport, so kind, and so supportive. I'm glad to have Roger and Andy, but I know that NY will always have a special place in their heart.

I must admit that I posted that because I wasn't sure if it was Willy or Willie, and I am way too anal about spelling . Glad to see your boys in the lead. By the way, the idiot announcers on FOX were just talking about Willy Taveras, the rookie, and how great he's been for the WHITE SOX!!! I hate the FOX announcers.

Well, it still sounds cute. I'm the same exact way - if I'm worried about spelling or grammar, I just avoid the situation completely.

They said White Sox?! I've had the volume up, but I'm trying to get all my homework together for tomorrow (last Wednesday, after the clincher, I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep messing with HW...and watching post-game fun! ), so I must've missed it. I miss my regular season announcers. Thanks for the well wishes!

Gina, I am so, so sorry. I fell asleep during the game, but woke up to see the White Sox jumping up and down. I was hoping it was just a bad dream.

But be proud of your boys for making it this far!

Thanks to Mig, SB, Zia, Beth, DM (with your genius Trish Law.. ) and all the sweet people here who have given me so much support and faith. Don't worry about me - I'm doing better than I expected.

No, really, I've got a positive outlook on all of this, and I'm truly happy we made it as far as we did. Who would've thought way back when we were 15-30 that we'd make it all the way to the World Series? I love my guys, and they've made me so proud. If I do end up needing a pyschiatrist, it's going to be because of the long offseason. I miss baseball already.

To take my mind off the Astro's loss, and the long, cold, baseball-less winter ahead, I felt compelled to watch Oprah today, because she had George Clooney on. I have to tell you, the man is to swoon for. He had his parents on, and he was very cute and funny with them, especially with his dad. Here's a picture from the show:

And here's one of George and Oprah admiring his villa in Italy on Lake Como.

SB, you've done a great public service by posting those George Clooney pictures. Thank you. Seriously, being that hot shouldn't even be legal. If I was a man, he'd turn me gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :p

He truly is unbelievably good looking. And so charming and funny and smart, too. The thing I like about him is that he likes his job and says that it's fun. Some of these actors get sooooo serious and talk about what a grind it is, all those hours, etc. He just talks about how much FUN he's having. Which is great, because I would damn well imagine that it is way too much fun to be George.

I remember watching a epi. of The Golden Girls on Lifetime and a young George was on it. Very handsome with a head full of hair.

Well, I say enough about me -- it gets embarrassing after a while listening to it. What else?

Well, there is that odd bit of chin facial hair.... Wait, that's you and not George Clooney. Well, there was that one Halloween...Wait, that's you and not George Clooney. Well, there were all those photos of him with his arm draped around female BB members, where it looks like he's trying to cop a feel....Wait that's you and not George Clooney. Sorry, can't think of any more ways that you are similar to George Clooney.

Ouch.

Remember, Geoff, SB isn't very appreciative of boys with cooties intruding on our thread.

Though I highly doubt that you have cooties!

Oh, how I miss my baseball boys. As of Sunday (today, technically, though I haven't fallen asleep, so I refuse to call it that...), I believe it's 155 days left until I see them again.

Ah, JG knows I'm just squeezing his shoes. Right, JG??? You do know that, right???

I know what you mean, Gina. My husband and I now have to resort to regular TV in the evenings, unless we have a new movie from Netflix. I miss baseball, too.

SB-

I've never heard that put like that before. I've heard "yanking his chain" before. I guess ya learn something new everyday huh??

Don't ya like to watch football? I use to watch it every Sunday but since I moved to Boonieville I don't watch it as much.

Have you guys seen Fever Pitch? I just saw it tonight... if you love baseball, you have to see this movie. It's soooooo cute, and I LOVE Jimmy Fallon. He's adorable in it. Awww.

Gigi, for your question from the other thread: check out Sasha Vujacic. I know he still looks really young (he's 22, I think-- but he looks younger), but I think he's really cute and has hotness potential for the next few years. Usually he's without the beard, but I thought this pic was kinda cute so I'm posting it anyway. He looks much better while he's playing though, so you're gonna have to take in a Laker game or two this season to tell me what you really think. :p

Mig, I have tried to like football, but just can't. I find it very boring, especially those last 90 seconds of a game that turns into half an hour.

And, Zia, I agree, he is rather cute.
