I do like that idea of a strict budget. At least it brings some reality to it. I love these huge makeovers where they knock walls down and buy all new furniture and bedding and lighting and flooring. And then are like - Hey!! You can do this, too! By yourself! At home! Despite the fact that we had a crew of 50 highly-skilled men and women and an unlimited amount of money!! Or worse, the ones that tell you that you can completely redecorate with one twist-tie and an old tablecloth. I actually watched Martha Stewart once make spun-sugar Christmas trees. You know how to do that? You carmelize the sugar and then FLING it. Imagine doing THAT in your new kitchen!

Oh, and to make sure that this post says something about Sports - Derek Jeter is really cute.

The things she does sometimes... and she really tries to pass them off as regular "everyday living"!!!

Gigi, I have some news. I was reading People Magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" issue (uh, not that I get it every year or anything :p ), which of course is the very hot Matthew McConaughey this year. As it turns out, he's a huge Astros fan! Do you have the magazine? If not, I think that's reason enough for you to get it.

My kids make me listen to the Morning Zoo on the radio when I drive them to school. The entire show yesterday was about People's choice of Matthew M. for the Sexiest Man Alive. I have to say, I'm not getting it. Is he sexy? Sure. But sexier than any other man alive??? All the callers said it's his voice and his abs (neither of which are apparent in the photo).

I have to admit that I was rather surprised by some of their choices - Heath Ledger, Ian McShane?? At least Matt Damon made it in the top 10 or so. And sexiest athlete was some football player?? I think Gina and I need to have a word with them!!

Of course, you know who I would've voted for - Mr. Babe, of course!!

Martha Stewart lives in her own little world... My mom sometimes calls me "Martha," because I like all of that interior design and craft type stuff, but I would go insane if I tried some of her "easy" ideas.

I don't know if you really could narrow it down to the absolute sexiest man...everyone has their favorites, you know.

Found me a new interest today.

There was some poker game on TV that had cast members from American Chopper playing cast members from Trading Spaces. I love American Chopper (Paulie is a whole new interest, which I'll post about below this... ), but I've never watched Trading Spaces in my life. I think I found a reason to do so, though:

His name is Carter Oosterhouse, and he's apparently the carpenter on the show. He reminds me of Brad Ausmus a bit.

I really do enjoy American Chopper, but Paulie adds to my interest in the show:

Gina, The carpenter is legendary and he is absolutely adorable. As for American Chopper, I think that Vinnie is the cutest. It's a great show, and their shop is not too far from my office. However, I emailed them last December. Three weeks before Christmas, our furnace and hot water heater died, and we had to spend thousands to replace them. Needless to say, my husband and I decided that we would give each other heat and hot water for Christmas. Well, I wrote to OCC and asked if they could send me an autographed photo of the guys for my husband's Christmas gift (I told them the whole story of the furnace and how he had been a fan of the show for years, etc.) and they sent me an email saying that if I wanted an autograph, I had to go to one of their personal appearances.

Hi SB,

I use to watch American Choppers all the time. Now I guess I'm just getting bored with the show. I haven't seen the show in a couple months now. Vinnie was also my fav on the show. I can't believe they wouldn't send you a pic. How tacky. Like it would really hurt to have someone in the office to send it out. What do they do charge ya for a autograph at a personal apperance?

From what I understand, they don't charge for them, but they were worried about sending them by mail in case of illegal reproduction. Like if I stood in line to see them, that would prevent illegal reproduction.

I think it was because they were doing an appearance at a local outlet mall to promote their new store, so they wanted people to come to the appearance. However, it was an outdoor mall, and it was about 5 degrees outside, so I passed.

DMC, Does this mean LIVE Trish??? Hmmmm....wonder what is #1 on your Christmas list? You'd better be a very good boy.

I want some baseball!! My husband wants to go to Tampa in February to see the Yankees. I think I'd rather go to Toronto again in the summer. It's almost cheaper than buying tickets to see them at home!!

I checked for tickets but the first few rows were sold out Any further back than row 5 or 6 I don't see a point to going because I could see more on tv.

I would probably kill for a front row seat though
Just kidding.

I'd DEFINITLY kill for a front row seat

Let me say that I've no idea what's going on here because I don't check this board much, but I just spotted JG posting in The Ladies' Thread, so I was curious to see what's going on. I still don't know what's going on though... :p

Afs, JG loves to hang out in the Ladies Thread, trying to pick up women. The Ladies Thread is supposed to be for us girls. We post photos of our favorite athletes, and talk about sports (only baseball for me, though). JG, DMC and DS drop by every now and then. When boys stop by, we usually post Cootie Alerts, but that doesn't stop them from coming back.
