OK, just to prove that this thread is not all tight uniforms and pictures of pretty boys, I was very excited to hear today that the Yankees are going to try and negotiate with Bernie Williams to bring him back next year. Granted, Bernie is old, and his arm is pretty much gone, but he's still got potential for another season or two as a DH. If Bernie does decide to retire next year, he should retire as a Yankee. Bern, baby, Bern!!

I see Don Sicilia found the perfect smiley before I get to know what's happening here. Originally posted by Sicilian Babe: Afs, JG loves to hang out in the Ladies Thread, trying to pick up women. The Ladies Thread is supposed to be for us girls. We post photos of our favorite athletes, and talk about sports (only baseball for me, though). JG, DMC and DS drop by every now and then. When boys stop by, we usually post Cootie Alerts, but that doesn't stop them from coming back. Thanks for clearing that up. I just browsed the main board and saw JG posting in Ladies thread. You wanna know what's going on when something like that happens.

In honor of my baby, Roger: It's so weird. I think it's going to take a while to sink in, because right now, I'm just in shock. I really don't have any hard feelings against Rocket or the club, because both made reasonable decisions, but it's still hard to deal with. I'm not going to completely give up on the May 1st possibility, because even Alan Ashby (one of our announcers) believes it's likely he'll come back then, but I really don't know what to think. Regardless of what happens, here's to one of the best pitchers in baseball, for his dedication, determination, warrior spirit, and true love for the game. I'd love to be greedy and keep him forever, but I will never forget the two amazing seasons he spent with us.

Well, I have to tell you, my husband wasn't always so respectful!! Hey, Rocket's a great pitcher, and we sure could've used both him and Andy this past season, but, as Don Vito would say, every man has but one destiny. And just in case DMC is lurking, I thought of you while I was in the Christmas Tree Shop yesterday buying wrapping paper. They had a Hot Cocoa gift set that included some cocoa mix and a Trish Stratus mug. There were actually two mugs, but I can't remember the other chick's name. She was obviously unimportant in Trish's presence.

I'm here too, girls! Since we're here to talk about how well "our boys" do, I'd just like to mention (using JG's patented Anti-Jinx) that the Lakers have won 8 out of the 10 games they've played this month so far!! They're doing fantastic, and it makes it so much more fun to go to the games when they do so well. Too bad they were on the road for 6 games straight. It looks like we're back... not back to our 2001 team, but back to winning, at least. However, I shake my finger at those idiots who stop being fans when we're not winning. Either you love your team, or you don't. You can't jump on and off the wagon depending on the scores! Right? Right? Also, my boy Sasha's playing so many more minutes lately! This month they've doubled his minutes on the court! And we're winning more... coincidence? I think not!!! He's doing great... he's no Kobe, but he's rebounding, assisting, scoring a little, and most of all, his form is improving so much! I think he's got so much potential. I'm very proud, as you can see.
