Gosh, and all along I thought it was the scintillating conversation. I mean, where else can you read ad nauseum about Derek Jeter's butt?

OK, just to prove that this thread is not all tight uniforms and pictures of pretty boys, I was very excited to hear today that the Yankees are going to try and negotiate with Bernie Williams to bring him back next year. Granted, Bernie is old, and his arm is pretty much gone, but he's still got potential for another season or two as a DH. If Bernie does decide to retire next year, he should retire as a Yankee. Bern, baby, Bern!!

When boys stop by, we usually post Cootie Alerts, but that doesn't stop them from coming back.
Thanks for clearing that up. I just browsed the main board and saw JG posting in Ladies thread. You wanna know what's going on when something like that happens.

Phew! What a load off... that was SO on my mind. I was like DAMN, when's her birthday?! Thanks DM. :p

And Afs, it's good to have you here. This is the fun thread. We get the occasional guy, but hey, what's a Ladies' Thread with no guys?

In honor of my baby, Roger:

It's so weird. I think it's going to take a while to sink in, because right now, I'm just in shock. I really don't have any hard feelings against Rocket or the club, because both made reasonable decisions, but it's still hard to deal with. I'm not going to completely give up on the May 1st possibility, because even Alan Ashby (one of our announcers) believes it's likely he'll come back then, but I really don't know what to think. Regardless of what happens, here's to one of the best pitchers in baseball, for his dedication, determination, warrior spirit, and true love for the game. I'd love to be greedy and keep him forever, but I will never forget the two amazing seasons he spent with us.

Gina - I can honestly say that I know how you feel. We NYers were heartbroken to lose the Rocket. He had such a great season last year, so I hope that you get him back. He's one of the greatest pitchers ever.

Ladies' room?! :p
Tell that to JG! :p
I've a better idea. We should change the name of the thread into the Ladies' Room. Then we should ask for a female moderator, because no man is allowed there.

Thanks, SB. I know you do understand. In fact, I should be telling you that now, I understand. I always thought it was so great how you were always so respectful of the Rocket around me, even though some Yankees fans have hard feelings about it - I really appreciate that. I'm going to do the same, and no matter what Roger does, I'll be happy with it.

Well, I have to tell you, my husband wasn't always so respectful!! Hey, Rocket's a great pitcher, and we sure could've used both him and Andy this past season, but, as Don Vito would say, every man has but one destiny.

And just in case DMC is lurking, I thought of you while I was in the Christmas Tree Shop yesterday buying wrapping paper. They had a Hot Cocoa gift set that included some cocoa mix and a Trish Stratus mug. There were actually two mugs, but I can't remember the other chick's name. She was obviously unimportant in Trish's presence.

Thank you though for posting that, I will have to look for it now

It is a good thing we have someone on these boards that has posted A photo of Trish so that you were sure it was her

Yes, a truly great man. I have to say that it's bizarre to be in a store with your kids picking out Christmas wrapping paper, and then you come across a cocoa set with a Trish mug, and you say out loud, "Wow! If only DMC were here to see this!" And then your little girl looks up and asks, "Who?"

I'm here too, girls!

Since we're here to talk about how well "our boys" do, I'd just like to mention (using JG's patented Anti-Jinx) that the Lakers have won 8 out of the 10 games they've played this month so far!! They're doing fantastic, and it makes it so much more fun to go to the games when they do so well. Too bad they were on the road for 6 games straight. It looks like we're back... not back to our 2001 team, but back to winning, at least. However, I shake my finger at those idiots who stop being fans when we're not winning. Either you love your team, or you don't. You can't jump on and off the wagon depending on the scores! Right? Right?

Also, my boy Sasha's playing so many more minutes lately! This month they've doubled his minutes on the court! And we're winning more... coincidence? I think not!!! He's doing great... he's no Kobe, but he's rebounding, assisting, scoring a little, and most of all, his form is improving so much! I think he's got so much potential. I'm very proud, as you can see.

That stinks, Zia. Sorry. I wish it were spring. Not only am I already sick of winter and it hasn't even officially started yet, but I want my Yankees back!! We've had almost a foot of snow already, and the first day of winter is still two days away! This sucks.
