How hot is James Blake!? I love watching tennis anyway, but he makes it all the more fun.

This picture was too big so I took it out... you can click on it though, it's a good action shot.

I think he looks so much better now than he did a couple of years ago, with his dreads... Don't you?

I have to tell you, the dreads just frighten me!! That action shot is WAAAAAAAY hot, though!! Oh, my! I think I'd better get a fan and a cool drink.

Although it's been fun reading about baseball in the Sports section of the paper, I would like to see an actual game soon. And I found out that Boston is playing the Yankees here in NY on Mr. Babe's birthday. Of course the game is sold out. I found tickets on stubhub.com, but they're $180 each, and for semi-okay seats. The really good seats are close to $1,000 each. For that kind of money, I could take him down to spring training!!

I don't know how often you go to the ESPN sites, SB, but I saw this beautiful ad banner while I was making my basketball picks for tomorrow, and I figured I'd better let you in on it.

Here ya go.

Thank you, Zia. How sexy are those eyes?? They are a true hazel, which is kind of unusual. But sooooooooo hot, hot, hot.

Yeah, they are beautiful. I'd never noticed how nice they were before I saw that banner. Thank you ESPN for this new revelation.

Btw, it is an unusual color, but my bf's eyes (which are usually green) turn that color if he's wearing certain colors, like dark gray, or if he's really tired. Very sexy indeed. Or also when he's angry or talking about someone he hates... but I don't like it as much then.

Eyes are the window to the soul, are they not?? Zia, isn't it weird how eye color can change with mood?

Looks like Gary Sheffield is up to his usual grumpiness. He reported that the Yankees GM Brian Cashman told him that the Yankees would pick up his option in '07. Then Cashman denied that there was any deal struck. Sheff goes on record having his usuall hissy fit about not being appreciated, plenty of other ball clubs that would want him, blah, blah, blah...

Sheff is one of the 3 nominees on the Mike and Mike Morning shows on ESPN for tomorrow's "Just shut up award". I'll vote for him if you like.

Giving new meaning? I've followed him since his Atlanta Braves days and he was arrogant then. Some guys just make it so that you don't want to root for them.

I hate when he gets like this, because in every single game, he really and truly ALWAYS gives his all. It's times like this that I want to just take him out and smack him around.

Well, we lost our spring training game 5-2 yesterday, but I think all of the runs were given up by a pitcher named Scott Sparks, whom I don't even know - as long as it's not Lidge or somebody on the regular season roster, I'm okay.

Any of y'all planning on catching any WBC games? I think that ESPN2 is showing China vs. Korea tonight at 12:30 a.m. Eastern. The only problem is that some games are broadcast on tape delay, so you have to be careful not to check the web site after the actual game is played, or you'll see the score. Speaking of which, here\'s the television guide. Apparently "local time" is the time at the place where it's played, when it is played, and "ET" is the time it'll be shown on TV (unless there's a tape delay time given.)

Chicago Sox vs the D-Backs, if you have the Superstation channel!!!

My first televised game between two MLB teams of the season!

I caught some of the China/Korea game last night, but I was wiped out, and I wasn't familiar with most of the players.

This game should be great to watch!

Thanks for the heads up Gina. I just turned it on. I haven't seen any of the World Baseball Classic. I don't know when or what channel it's on.

Now if the wind would stop blowing about 20mph outside it would really feel like Spring.

EDIT! Damm, the home plate umpire just got clocked in the head with a bat. Injuries are piling up already.

Man, when I glanced over at the TV, I thought they were styling hair or something, until I saw they were cleaning blood off of him! He was tough about it, though.

Bethie, check the first of my two posts above yours - I put a link to the TV schedule for the WBC. Some are at odd hours, though.

I just checked out your link Gina. No wonder I've never seen any of the games. Who the hell is up at 2:00 in the morning?

Sorry, forgot where I was for a minute there.

I stayed up for last night's game (11:30 - didn't start until almost midnight), and the game ended up being shortened due to "time constraints." I thought I was going crazy as I noticed it skipping from the 1st to 3rd to 5th innings. Anyway, if I hadn't had the oven timer on for what I was cooking, I would've fallen asleep at the table. And I noticed that some games will be on when I'm at school, which isn't much better.

That Konerko play was hilarious. I mean, are the White Sox even playing this game?

Apparently not! 9-0 now...

I don't even have much hard feelings from last year to celebrate this massacre of the Sox. Maybe that's a good thing, though.

I know it's only spring training but that game was just sad. If they keep that up the White Sox will go from first to worst this season.

I watched the Yankees get their butts kicked by the Phillies the other day. I know that they don't go all out in these exhibition games, but still.... At least I got to see Johnny Damon in pinstripes. A little weird, but not terrible. He sounds and looks like he's really trying to be a team player, something that NEVER would have happened with Manny Ramirez.

And, btw, with all the NY talk about spring training, I am so sick of hearing about Pedro's toe. His big toe is sore, and he can't pitch. Some sneaker company (I think it was Nike) was going to actually make him a custom shoe to ease his toe pain. It's actually gotten to the point where it's a bit amusing to keep reading these huge headlines about Pedro's toe.

With this talk of Pedro's toe gave me a flashback to the Bill Murray movie, "Stripes".

"I'm gonna volunteer my leadership to this platoon.

An Army without leaders is like a foot...
...without a big toe.

And Sergeant Hulka isn't always gonna be there to be that big toe for us.

I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy and big toe, Sergeant Hulka.

Well, okay, hotshot. We're gonna see what kind
of soldier you are. Revelle is 0500. We're gonna fall out
with locker boxes and we're gonna have a locker- box inspection.

And then we're gonna do 6 miles, rain or shine. So you better hit them bunks, my little babies or Sergeant Hulka with the big toe is gonna see how far he can stick it up your ass.

Hahaha. For some reason I just noticed this comment. I could see it now, game called on account the umpire thought he didn't have enough mousse in his hair. I didn't realize the game had gone so metrosexual.

Beth, You're daughter is so beautiful, and fun, too. I heard somewhere that she and I share two common interests (ok, I heard it from her): Louis Vuitton knock-offs and Derek Jeter. Hmmmmm...now if LV could only come out with a Derek Jeter bag, it would be perfect!!

Happy Birthday, Nicole!!

Nicole actually just go another LV bag. Her friend knows someone who works at the LV warehouse. She brought a big bag, decided she didn't like it, then sold it to Nicole for $100. I think she's hooked. BTW, this bag was no knock offm but the real deal. I feel sorry for her future husband. Between her LV bags, clothes, shoes, hair and nails he's gonna have to work jobs to keep her in the life she's accustomed to.

Now, to work on the Derek Jeter problem. Do you think The Yankees would miss him if we hatched a kidnapping plot?
