Gina, Taylor is a real cutie. Since I'm probably old enough to be his mother I won't say he's a hottie..hahaha.

Imagine, having to guys for you to oggle at when you watch your boys.

Like me having ARod and Jeter, although Jeter has my heart.

So, Beth, are you ready for a little West Wing action tonight? I think that Rob Lowe returns tonight. And the coming attractions promised a little Josh/Donna action as well. What did you think of the funeral? It was nice to see everyone, like Ainsley, Joey Lucas, Toby, Abby, Mallory, etc., but overall the episode was just meh. I thought that John Spencer deserved a better send-off. I mean, we only get to see the END of the funeral?? What a gyp.

I can't wait to see Rob Lowe tonight. I hope he does take a job at the White House. It appears Josh will be Chief of Staff, but I'm still hoping that he somehow is named VP.

The funeral last week was extremely sad, especially with Bartlett welling up as they carried Leo's coffin away. But I have to say I was hoping it would be more of an hour of retrospectives of Leo, not right back to business as usual. I think I actually cried more on on the previous episode where Leo died.

Can't wait for tonight. It appears Donna and Josh might actually touch..hahaha. Hopefully there won't but weeping tonight, Nicole got me a musical Phantom of the opera figurine, and it got me sentimental. I've been listening to the Phantom soundtrack all weekend it's very emotional. I guess I should have appreciated it more when we saw the play then I would have understood it more..hahaha. Am I the only one who was rooting for the Phantom? What can I say, I go for the bad boy.

It's so funny that you say this. My friend called last night, and before she handed the phone to me, I hear my mom telling her that she's in love with Taylor Buchholz but not to tell her husband... She's really crazy about him - she likes his dimples. Anyway, I think it's perfectly safe for you to say he's a hottie.

SB, that's certainly cause for celebration! Don't save the ice cream only for losses...or maybe it could be cookies for losses and ice cream for wins? No matter what, sweets are necessary in baseball, what with all of the emotions involved!

That was a pretty decent episode. Not quite as good Seasons One and Two, but pretty good. Liked the President and President-Elect strategizing without their CoS knowing. Good to have Sam back. Glad to see the Josh/Donna love. Glad to see that Donna wouldn't back down from her time-frame. She's been his doormat too long.

Yeah, it was a decent episode. Seeing Josh'e somewhat meltdown was refreshing. It was sad to see the ending credits that there's only 3 episodes left. Kind of makes me wonder if they're even going to address the Toby situation at all.

What's up with Charlie being gone again? Dule Hill's pic is not on the opening credits, but John Spencer's still is? How weird. Also love the prospect of having Vinnick as VP. He is smart, and it may make for the Santos campaign to bring unity. We'll have to see.

I had heard through spoilers that Vinick was going to be Secretary of State, not VP. Who knows??? I mean, how can he make a Republican his VP?? I'm a little confused.

My niece's husband is a huge West Wing fan and he said he heard that they originally had Vinnick winning, but with Jonn Spencer's death they thought it would be too sad. I hope Vinnick gets nominated for something. I couldn't stand any of his staff, but I thought he was a smart man who would do a good job.

Agreed, Beth. Alan Alda played the part perfectly. Well, if they knew that the series was going to end, then having Vinnik win would've been interesting, because then they all would've been out of jobs along with Bartlett!!

Something interesting - I noticed at the funeral that Toby looked awfully scruffy. Someone told me that he was observing Jewish law. The men don't shave or trim their beards or hair for a certain amount of time when they are in mourning. Nice touch.

I didn't notice that. To me Toby always looks like he slept in his suit..hahaha. It would be a nice touch, showing Toby in "mourning". Now, let's hope these last 3 episodes bring closure for his character.

Did I miss them mentioning Sam's character in the past going back to being a lawyer. Didn't he win a congressional seat or something? I wasn't aware that that gig was up. I loved the nice touch of Sam saying he was engaged, which is a carbon copy of what he told Josh in the beginning when Josh asked him to come on board for Bartlett's campaing.

It was a nice echo back to that episode, when Josh came into the meeting and pulled Sam out, etc.

Sam did run for Congress out in CA, but I thought he lost. They never really said, did they? Just sent him off to Mandyville, along with Ainsley.

You know what I just realized and found ironic SB? Watching an old episode of The West Wing tonight Rob Lowe stars in this with Martin Sheen, when in the 80's Rob starred in the 80's with fellow Brat Packer Emilio Estevez, Martin's son, in St. Elmo's fire.

That's true. I had forgotten all about that horrible movie.

Btw, I saw Apocolypse Now, and I was amazed at how much a young Martin Sheen looked like Charlie Sheen. Try to catch one of his older movies. I never saw the resemblance that much, but it was amazing.

And to turn the back to Sports, my Yankees won last night!! Moose did a great job on the mound, and the bats followed suit. Sheesh!! It's amazing what good pitching can do! Tonight Wang is pitching. He's been so uneven, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The Yankees always do so much better at home.

Oh, there have been several occassions when I saw Martin and thought he looked like Charlie. It might have been a scene I saw on tv of Apocolpse Now come to think of it. I think if we saw younger pics of Martin we'd be blown away by the similarities.

Aaahhh, I've never seen that movie. Funny, with that 80's era of The Brat Pack ruling the movies I would think there would be so much more they were in. For a minute I thought of The Breakfast Club, but Emilio was in that, and Rob wasn't. Then again, I don't think that cast of characters were in that many movies. It just seems like an eternity.

Here's a still from the set of Badlands. The resemblance between Charlie and Martin is amazing.

You're right, Beth, it does seem like a lot more.
And SB, it's creepy how much they look alike! Almost like they're related, or something! :p No but really, even for a father and son, it's a lot of resemblance.

Such a great Laker win tonight, by the way!! They evened out the series, 1-1. Not even on our own court!! Someone tell me, after watching tonight's game, why Nash is more MVP than Kobe? Craziness. Like Nash is good and all, I agree... but not better than Kobe. The media/press just loves to hate Kobe, that's why they won't give it to him. He deserves it way more though!

Wow, that Wright is cute!

And Piazza!! Awww. He was one of the first baseball players I was ever a fan of... remember, he was a Dodger first! Tommy Lasorda is even godfather to one of his brothers.

Thanks for the pictures... always nice to see some new hot players! Nice to get back to what this thread was originally about, too.

I know. We've been very, very bad. Beth and I are slowly turning this into a West Wing thread!! But there are only a few episodes left!! And President Bartlett did go to Notre Dame, so isn't that sort of sports-related? No??

In spite of the fact that Tampa walked 14 Yankees last night, my boys just could not score. They did tie it up and the game went to 10 innings, but Tampa scored two runs in the top of the 10th, and that was that.

Be warned....I'm not going to post something West Wing related.

I've been in a Phantom of the opera mode lately, so I watched the DVD again today. Is it just me or is the Phantom HOOOTTTT!!! I think I'm the only one in the universe rooting him on. When Christine broke his heart I cried with him. But I googled the guy who played the Phantom, Gerard Butler. Where the hell has this hunk been hiding? Gotta definately rent some of his movies.

Beth, He is very seriously hot, hot, hot!! I know that the music is beautiful, but all I can think of is the scene from the Billy Crystal movie Forget Paris, when Debra Winger makes him go to Phantom, and he makes fun of the play, and says that everyone thinks it's so romantic to see a guy with a broken plate on his face, and the song is just a ripoff of School Days!! Of course, pretty much anything that Billy Crystal says is hilarious. AND he's a Yankee fan!! Who won again today, by the way!

And the West Wing is on in a few minutes. I wonder how Donna and Josh's vacation went??

God, was I disappointed in West Wing tonight. Nothing but Santos and Vinnick? They tease us by bringing Sam back, now it looks like the whole Santos team is new people? Boy, Donna and Josh's vacation must have been extended for them not to even be back. There's only 2 episodes left. Are they even gonna finish up Toby's sitation? They better end this thing with a bang, or it's going to be a great disappointment to me.

I compare it to Gone With The Wind when Scarlett was drooling over that wimpy Ashley all through the movie, then in the end she loses Rhett. What is up with women picking these he women? Give me the dark, brooding bad boy any time.

Beth,
West Wing was definitely a disappointment. Who cares where their stupid kids go to school? Although I though it was funny when CJ introduced Helen to her new staff.

My boys won again yesterday. Tonight they go to Boston to play the Red Sox, and it's sure to be a barn burner!!

Beth, I love Gerard Butler too. My sister watches crap movies like Attila and stuff just to see him. He was Dracula too, in Dracula 2000. And if you haven't seen the second Lara Croft movie, check it out... he's in it, doing pullups in a prison, wearing a wifebeater. Hot.

And so did mine-- I don't know if any of you have heard anything about the two Laker games this weekend. Intense.

Especially on Sunday, wow. It was such a close game all throughout, and then with like a minute left in the game, we were down by 5 and people were leaving. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE LEAVE GAMES EARLY!!!! It pisses me off. And to those idiots, I say ha, ha ha, ha HAH! Because they missed out on some of the biggest, most amazing plays of the whole season.

So we're down by 5 pts, there's like 12 seconds left, the Lakers pull some major hustle and tie up the game. 12 seconds!! Do you know what that is? That's like nothing. I know people who blink slower than that. And the way we tied it up was so beautiful... Smush Parker made a great three, and then proceeded to steal the ball from Nash with 7 seconds remaining, got it to George who passed it to Kobe, who of course, made a layup with 0.7 seconds left to tie the game and get us into overtime.

THEN, overtime was even more intense! We kept falling back by 3 points, and catching up, you know how it goes. Then with 6 seconds left, we're down by 1 point, Nash has the ball, and Luke Walton just goes for it. Like just straight up grabs the ball and they're pulling it back and forth, neither one is letting go. I'm SO glad Luke didn't give up, man. So they did a jump ball, and Luke tipped it almost out of bounds towards Kobe, who grabbed it, took it down and made a jump shot right at the buzzer. I've seen like 30 replays of that play, and I can't get tired of seeing it, I get goosebumps watching it. All of the 4th quarter, the crowd was louder than I've ever heard it at any game, but as soon as he made that last shot, I know I've never heard THAT much noise in my life. The place absolutely exploded. And everyone was so glad that BOTH of the biggest turnovers in the game were Nash... MV-who?

Only the Lakers can pull something like this. I love this team so much. They are the personification of the saying, "It ain't over 'till it's over."

Here's a video of both of those plays, check it out. And look at the crowd right as Kobe's last shot goes in, everyone jumps to their feet at the same time. It was SO incredible.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yb88sDhKy5s

Sasha did really well too, you know I have to throw that in. He played almost half an hour, made 9 points. And looked damn good doing it, too.

So anyway, the Lakers are up 3-1 in this series now; if (when ) they win tomorrow night, it's all over for the Suns.

AND... after yesterday's game, Kobe went to the hospital where his wife was in labor, and they had a baby girl at like 2 in the morning, I believe. What a day for him, huh?! And on the other coast, Shaq's wife had a baby girl too... the two babies were born within 6 minutes!! That's a crazy coincidence.

Within 6 minutes of one another??? What are the chances???

That must've been some crazy kind of overtime!! WOW!! Zia, however did you not just run out onto the court at some point?!

Yankees were ahead 3-1, then Boston tied the game up last night, but then the Yankees lost, or so Mr. Babe told me. I fell asleep in the 7th inning, I believe. I hate it when I do that. Although I did get to see my favorite Jeter commercial, when he's pumping iron (sigh).
