I will wait for these pictures (popcorn in hand-and I'll let JG have fun with that comment).

Gina - You were missed welcome back!! Speaking of trainwrecks, Boston just blasted the hell out of my boys last night. Johnson didn't even last four full innings. Then Aaron Small came in to finish the 4th inning, allowed two more runs before it mercifully ended, and then two more in the 5th. ARod had errors, which is rare. They just had the WORST night. Hopefully, they'll bounce back tonight.

It's always bad when the Yankees lose, but it's HORRIBLE when they lose to the Red Sox!!

And it's even WORSE when they lose with Randy Johnson...simply because you know it's coming.

I'm really fed up with this guy. Maybe cutting his hair caused that 'Samson & Delilah' syndrome.

Send him back to Seattle...if they'll have him.

I have to agree that he's been a disappointment. But who on their pitching staff hasn't been? So far, Mussina's the only one who has been having a decent year. Chacon is starting to rebound, but Wang's and Small, who they really counted on last year, have NOT been good. As a matter of fact, Small's been awful in his few outings.

Congrats, SB!

Zia, I'm a bit less pessimistic since my post in BBC (3 runs so far - much better than a shutout!), so I retract my "darning" of you. :p

He and No-mah seem to have something against us, though - seems they've been tearing us up.

Gals, my deepest desire is to see Bonds give in to his aching body (not to mention his lying and cheating baseball sins) and just retire, but I know that won't happen. Unless some crazy thing comes up, he's basically definite to pass the Babe (*gulp*), and my concern is now regarding whether I should continue rooting against him getting it, or actually having to (*gag*) root for him to get it before our series against SF. I would just die if we were the team that gave it up (tying and/or beating the record), which is entirely possible, and if it happens at the game I'm going to on Monday...oh God.

He'd be insane to "get it" on the road... it'd be hard enough with only half of his home fans cheering him....

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

Apparently he spends most of his time in an L.A. hotel... you can come live in my pool house if you want, it's empty.

As for Bonds... I think he'll "get it" in SF this weekend against the Dodgers. 50-some-year rivalry between them... might fuel a little "somethin' somethin'." It might even get SF'ans to like him again if "it" comes when they're playing the Dodgers.

Nomar is just a nasty creep. I saw him several years ago when the Red Sox played Toronto. The team was staying in the same hotel as us. When we came down to breakfast in the morning, several of the players and their manager (back then it was Grady Little) were in the lobby and they all stopped to sign autographs for some children - that is, all except Nomar. He blew past the kids with a "No time right now!" and hopped into a taxi. Superior little snot.

Yikes, what a jerk! Although maybe he did have somewhere to go before the rest of the team, maybe he had to stop somewhere on his way to wherever the rest of them were going. Probably not, he was probably just being a jerk, but you never know.

Puh-leeze! He almost ran the poor kids over!! He was all "Gotta get to the stadium!!", when he didn't have to be there for HOURS!! He was just being Nomar. And all the little kids were like "Nomar!! Nomar!!". I swear, I expected one of them to start calling him "Shane".

My boys are playing right now, and are leading Boston 3-1, top of the 5th. Chacon just struck out David Ortiz, and although Big Papi is not having a stellar year, he was hitting well against Randy Johnson the other night! And now Manny Ramirez is up. Those two back to back are just incredible. AUGH! He walked Ramirez!!

Man, I'd hate to be a Nats fan tonight! A comeback win for Atlanta in the ninth, with a grand slam...gotta be depressing for Washington.

My boys lost today, too, but this made me feel a little better.

SB, Princess Bride is on...I am drooling.

Well, one more game in the Dodgers series, then Mr. 'Roid is headed to Houston.

I used to be, but since they traded Vinny now they can pound dirt.

Happy Mother's day to my fellow moms SB and Mig, and to any other mom's who may come to this thread. In honor of Mother's day I may treat myself to another viewing of Phantom of the opera.

Beth, I thought of you when I wrote that, but then I remembered that you're not a Nats fan anymore...just a Vinny fan.

Happy Mom's Day to SB, Mig, and Bethie, my wonderful Ladies' Thread friends! Just hearing you talk about your kids and tell stories about them, I know y'all are great moms to them, and I hope you all enjoy your special day.
