My girls made me a scrapbook, with their own words, and photos of them growing up. Of course, I cried, even though some of it was quite funny, other parts were extremely touching. And I'm a huge sucker; I cry at the drop of a hat. Then they started making me laugh so hard, making jokes, that coffee actually came out my nose during breakfast. My Mother's Day was wonderful, except that the Yankees lost . I don't think it was a coincidence that Randy Johnson was on the mound. Man, is he turning out to be a disappointment. Happy Mother's Day to my fellow Moms here in the Ladies Thread. And thanks for all the good wishes.

Ok, SB. We have to have one final West Wing conversation. (You other guys will be happy to know last night was the last episode). Would I say the show was nice, and it ended on a good note? Probably. But I can't say I was wowed by it, or it left me crying. Here are a couple of my pet peeves about last night's show. *We only got 2 minutes of Sam. And I think the only words he spoke were, "Thank you Mr. President". *Toby gets pardoned, but not one glimpse of him? C.J. or someone could have given him a call or something. *No Josh and Donna wedding. And did they even speak to each other? *We never did find out who Toby's "leak" was. I did like the scene of Jeb giving Charlie the book that was handed down to him by his father. Very touching. I'm so glad the last scene they showed what Molly gave Jeb from Leo. I was getting antsy knowing what it was. So it seems "Danny" and "Josh" will be in a new series together. I might give it a shot. But they won't be the same characters, and there won't be Donna, so who knows how that will be.
How about a little less questions and a lot more shut the hell up - Brian Griffin

Beth, I must agree. I was sort of underwhelmed by the episode. I wanted my Toby. And there was WAY too much CJ. I wanted to hear Donna and Josh have their "conversation" and where was Zoey? Why didn't we get to see any Charlie/Zoey closure? I mean, last season we saw POTUS catch Charlie sneaking out of her room, but never got any resolution on that. WTF???
Agreed, Jed giving Charlie the book was a killer. And we finally got to find out which one was Ed and which one was Larry. And I loved the good-bye that Nancy got (Martin Sheen's actual daughter) about seeing her mother soon. Very cute. And the whole Ronna/Debbie scene was nice as well. btw, why is Donna's office immense, while Josh's is tiny in comparison? Will Josh develope Office Envy? Too much unresolved, and after all the VP crap, it gets a brief mention as Baker? John Wells, you stink!!

West Wing is gone, and that sucks. The rain hasn't stopped here, and that sucks. My stupid pool from hell can't be finished because of the rain and I'm expecting 55 people on Saturday, so that sucks. The fence man came to install my fence, started to install the wrong one, came back to put in the right one, but it was still raining and he had to leave, so that sucks. I had topsoil delivered at an absurd cost, and then they seeded the topsoil, but that is all washing away in the rain, so that sucks.
And the Yankees lost again last night, they played like crap, Matsui is out for the season, Sheffield is still on the DL, Giambi hurt his neck last night, and that sucks, too. Damn the suckiness!!!!

SB, hope things start to look up for you. I'm with you on the baseball stuff, at least - check out some recent scores for the Astros. No, Zia, I'm not much into the rap scene, but I feel quite special to know that I have my own song that reminds you of me. I thought you were going to mention this other song (can't remember the name - something about "shine on"), because it's about the Astros. It's probably just something popular in Houston, but I can remember all these people at school were telling me about it and asking me if I'd heard it...I was clueless, of course, but it was cool to know that there's a baseball rap song out there. Ugh, I didn't have a chance to report on "Bonds Night" last night. I did end up going to the game, as planned - it was a sorry, pitiful, depressing loss. Also, it was the only night that I even slightly wanted Bonds to hit 714, because my cousin, two friends, and I all were hoping to catch it...that didn't happen, obviously. We still had a great time, though - we booed Bonds, held up posters, and at the end (when Barry was out and a win was quite improbable), we begin to cheer for a comeback of 9 runs and "extra innings!" and so on...half the crowd was gone, so we just enjoyed ourselves. It was a pretty bad game, but the company made up for it. Something else I wanted to mention - tonight, at my band's spring concert, one of our directors was on stage announcing someone's name. Well, his name is Manuel, and everyone calls him Manny - when the director said his name, he said, "Manny Ramirez." And I know he wouldn't have done that on purpose...he apologized, laughed, and corrected himself, but I was cracking up.

Sounds like last night's game was quite the experience, Gina!! Mr. Babe was invited to a Yankee game by one of his vendors, but no ticket for me! He's going to tonight's game. After Posada's game-winning homer in the bottom of the 9th last night, tonight should be another interesting match-up between Texas and NY. And boy did the pitching stink last night! 27 runs were scored. It was more like a basketball score than a baseball game!

See, I know some things. :p And it was called that when they'd play vs. the Dodgers too, back when they were in Brooklyn, right? Our Freeway Series starts today too, and I'm gonna try to go to at least 2 games. It's always so much more fun when there are a lot of fans from both sides at the game. Makes a loss a little harder, but it's still fun.

Thanks, Gina! I'll let "Babette" know.
My boys have lost two in a row since then. Well, with Matsui, Sheffield and Crosby not playing, Damon out of CF and only playing as DH, it's a huge hit. However, Sheff is supposed to be back tonight. And as much as I love me some ARod, it would've been nice if he hadn't abandoned 7 men on base Sunday!!
Ah, Well, there's always tonight!! Congrats on Houston's win yesterday!

Craig Biggio is being linked to steroid use. (Let me let this sink in...) This guy just might be another Barry Bonds. Yep. Oh, wait, let me clarify. According to David Wells, Biggio uses steroids. He was recently quoted as hinting that Bidge uses 'roids, and I'm just wondering what kind of drugs he must be on. Of all people to pick on, why Craig? He's one of the most classy, hard-working, honest, consistent, and fair players I've ever followed. Here is a great article regarding this, from the Chronicle.

Not to mention, the movie was made years ago - he's a man, now. I'm a "boy", too, remember? ...All right, so maybe I just act like on. :p

Damn, I missed Sandlot!! Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez. Wow is he hot!! Gi, I know at one point you posted a picture of what he looks like today, and thankfully, he is not one of those good-looking child actors that turned out not-so-good-looking. He's STILL hot, if I recall. I was also impressed with the guy that they got to play Benny as an adult. It was amazing how much he looked liked "young" Benny. And he was hot, too!! There, JG, did I express enough admiration for the opposite sex??

Well, SB, you'll be surprised and happy to know that the adult Benny was played by the real Benny's older brother, Pablo Vitar! Pablo and Mike both acted in this movie, and they're both real-life brothers... and they're both cute! How 'bout that?! I didn't have much luck finding current photos - Sandlot and Mighty Ducks were pretty much all he did in the movie business, and I guess, whether intentionally or not, he faded away after that. But, here's what I came across: This page has several nice photos, as well. And here\'s a very cute Benny the Jet photo that I just couldn't resist posting!
