I think that DS and SC are the only two exempt from the Cooties Alert. Don't know if you guys take that as a compliment or not!! JG and DMC, on the other hand, rate HUGE alerts, so take that for what it's worth!!

Gina, Sorry about your boys. Man, Detroit is just amazing this year, aren't they?? The Big Unit pitched a good game for us last night, and we ended up winning. Hope it continues. We're still two and a half games out of first.

Edited to Add: Hmmmmm....Gina's Willy and my Jeter on the same team??? The thoughts are multiplyin'...

Even if we don't start winning more games, I think it'd still be the ultimate fantasy team...if you know what I mean.

Our manager, Garner, threw a tantrum last night after Berkman was ejected from the game arguing a close call at first - I think he was trying to steal some of the spotlight from the minor league manager. He threw a chair on the field, but he didn't pick up first base like I hoped he would.

The Braves kicked our butts tonight and scored a whole bunch of runs in the 8th inning, after Wright pitched a beautiful game. Damnation!!

Gina, I think it's so funny when there's a fight at a baseball game. Did you see the video of that minor league manager?? It was hilarious, when he actually picked up the base and started to make off with it!!

SB, it's always hilarious to see an argument or a fight at a game - if it's my team, I feel proud (like "Atta boy, way to show some fire!" ), and if it's anyone else, it's just funny to watch happen.

Thanks again for posting that article - I didn't notice the video until later, but I did watch it and got quite a kick out of it. I sent it to my mom, and it had her laughing, as well.

Rocket must be a cursed man. He pitched a great game, which was our silver lining, but as usual, we refused to give him any run support.

Okay. I confess. I'm a YouTube addict. Not only that, but I'm a winekone addict. Let me explain.

"thewinekone" is a user on YouTube who posts video blogs, and he's got quite a large fan base - for good reason. He's really funny, and he's one of the few people that I've found on the site who can make talking into a webcam entertaining.

And somehow, he's also attractive, which even he claims to not understand. He's got a whiny voice (which he has pointed out), he supposedly is a nerd who never gets the chicks (which he has pointed out), and he supposedly doesn't make funny videos (which he has pointed out), but I find him hilarious. I don't know. You might not see what I see in him, but I know I'm not crazy, because he has a decent female following...it must be reverse pyschology.

OMG that guy is hilarious!! That's exactly how my cousin gets when he's high. (The famous Bruno's younger brother.) He'll go on these rants talking nonstop for a while, and then he'll turn to me, put his fist in my face like a microphone, and go, "Letizia. Your thoughts."

That's too funny!! Zia, I know exactly what you mean. We've always said that my oldest brother should've been diagnosed as ADHD, but since the condition didn't exist back then, he was just considered "bad". He's always running around, he asks the most bizarre questions, and we always kid around that a conversation with him is like being interviewed by Mike Wallace, with hot lights and a microphone in your face.

Edited to Add: By the way, just to make this post sports-oriented, ARod hit a game-winning home run in the bottom of the 12th yesterday. It's about freakin' time he snapped out of that slump!!

CS, that's awesome! See? Everyone likes YouTube!

But no winekone on his list?

And check out how many views each video he listed is getting - he's making good publicity for them, I'm sure!

Oh my gosh...I remember seeing this one a while back. It's literally too painful to watch.

SB, do you watch the USA channel? They're showing previews for a new tv show coming in the fall with Dule Hill in it. It's called "Psych", about 2 guys who run a detective agency I think, and they call it Pysch. Dule seems to play the smart, level headed straight man again. Maybe something to check out to ease a little West Wing dry spell.

Bethie, my mom was just telling me about that show last night. We try to keep up with Monk, another USA show, though we haven't watched much of him lately...anyway, we'd like to get back on that, and we were thinking about getting into Psych, as well.

After an already great night, Mike Lamb was robbed of a homer in last night's game against the Rangers by Gary Matthews - however, even Lamb admits that it was an amazing play. Check it out here , by clicking on "Matthews' amazing catch" under Multimedia on the right.

Congrats on 9000, Beth!

Beth, I saw the ads, but didn't realize that they were showing the previews. I love Dule Hill. He's so cool, and so hot at the same time!! However, there's not much of a chance of switching any channels tonight with the Subway Series on.

Gina, my boys have not been doing well!! They got their asses kicked yesterday against the Mets, and right now they're losing against them 4-1 in the 3rd inning.

I take it back!! Top of the 4th and the Yankees are now winning 9-4!!!!!! ARod hit a grand slam home run in the 3rd, and the Yankees seemed to never stop! It's just a slugfest!

Alright, SB! Make sure they keep it up!

I was too scared to discuss my boys' game until the last out was made.

Are any of you Twilight Zone fans? I mentioned it in the random post thread, but I figured I'd also post here that SciFi is showing a marathon through the 4th. I absolutely love this show.

West Wing got nominated for an Emmy this morning. Woo hoo!
Alison Janney and Martin Sheen also got nominated.

I like Law and Order:SVU too and Chris Meloni got nomitated for best actor, so kudos for him also.

I miss The West Wing so much. Even Bravo's not showing the reruns as often as they used to. I thought for sure that we might have a WW 4th of July weekend, but no such luck. However, I did DVR almost the entire last season. Now, if I could only figure out how to download that to my VCR. I hope Martin Sheen finally wins. Ridiculous that he hasn't so far. Keep shaking those pom-poms, Beth, and maybe he'll win.

My boys won another one tonight. It's amazing how they win when they actually have good pitching.

I hope Martin wins. I know Allison has won once already. If she wins that'll be fine, but I'm not her biggest support. I actually like Marishka Hargitay of SVU better.

I can't believe Bravo isn't showing West Wing anymore. I think I've seen it on there twice since it was cancelled on NBC. They're screwing up my whole schedule.

You know what Gina - I've gotten into the 2002 version of the Twilight Zone. I'm sure it pales in comparison to the original (of which I haven't seen an episode), but for some reason, I find it enjoyable.

CS, before I start yelling at you to go watch a couple of the original episodes ( :p ), can you explain this newer version?

I'd heard there was a Twilight Zone movie, and my friend has mentioned the "new version" of this show - I suppose it's a television series, right? Is it on the SciFi channel, also? And I suppose the plots are somewhat similar...?

I just might have to check it out, though I doubt it compares to the good ol' black and white classic.

I'll watch the new one if you watch the old one.

SB, I'm watching Pysched now. Are you psyched?

It seems like an ok show. Dule is playing another straight guy to the other person's funny man. Although his partner seems somewhat like a bafoon.

I meant to mention here that I went to see Pirates 2 with my parents yesterday. I'm no movie critic, but personally, I enjoyed it. I'll leave it at that, because everyone's going to have their own opinion, anyway...

But regardless of the film's success, here are two perfectly good reasons to go see it:

I mean, come on. There could be no script at all, and I think I'd be fine with watching these two on screen.

I was thinking about buying the Pirates I dvd just for that reason. What could be better then oggling two hunks for 2 1/2 hours. I'd see anything Gerard Butler's in just to be lost in his eyes for awhile. I actually was flipping channels yesterday and came upon Lara Croft II, just in time for a major kissing scene with him and Angelina Jolie. Best 5 minutes of my day.

I bought my parents a DVD of the original for their anniversary, but I think I've enjoyed it far more than they have.

My mom adores Johnny, though. And I guess the action and visual effects are good enough to entertain my dad.

I suppose you've seen the first one, Beth? Jack Davenport stars as Norrington again in the 2nd one, but he looks a lot better...his character doesn't require the stuck-up British style, and the scruffy look definitely fits him well.

I keep meaning to watch my daughter's Pirates DVD, and haven't gotten around to it. She adores Depp, but I just don't find him attractive.

Beth, I haven't seen Psyched yet. It looks like it will be good.

OK, now I have to share a shopping success story. I was in Lord & Taylor tonight shopping for a new bathing suit for my daughter. Of course, I had to stop and look at the pretty dresses (I'm such a girl) on the clearance rack. I saw a very pretty pale aqua Adrianna Papell in my size. So, I tried it on, and it fit perfectly. The sign said to take an extra 50% off at the register and I had a 20% off coupon. The dress was originally $140 and I got it, tax and all, for $21.30!!!!!!!

The Yankees are on right now, bottom of the 9th and they're winnng 9-1. Wang pitched beautifully. He lasted almost 9 full innings, but then allowed two men on and they took him out. They're now two strikes away from the win.

I've already done my fair share of complaining in BBC, but I wish I could send this quote to our manager. Garner would never do that. As much sense as it makes, he'd never take notice of a pitcher needing relief and decide to pull him for somebody else. Instead, he thinks it's fine to leave a guy in to lose a 2-run lead and still let him finish off the inning, running the risk of completely blowing the game.

SB, be sure to check out Pirates sometime! Even if you don't find Johnny attractive ( ), it's still a great movie. But I just gotta ask...does Orlando Bloom do anything for you?

Ahh, Orlando Bloom. I haven't seen Pirates I yet. I'm so behind the times. If it's not Phantom then I haven't seen it.

$140 dress for $21.30? Remind me to go shopping with you in Philly, SB.

Orlando Bloom is handsome, but I must admit that I'm not gaga over him or anything.

Beth, shop we will. I do LOVE a bargain!!

Well, the Yankees pulled Shawn Chacon out of the rotation and instead are starting Kris Wilson (I think that's his name), who I know nothing about. I hear that it's not just Chacon's performance this year, which has been dismal, but his attitude, which has been rather surly. Joe Torre usually gives his players full-throated public support, and he has NOT given it to Chacon. Not that he's slammed him publicly, but there's no lovefest going on, that's for sure. We'll see how this new guy does tonight.

Hey, SB. Did you see Jeter on 60 minutes tonight? Nicole called me from a pool party to tell me to tape it for her since she won't be home. If you missed it I have it on VHS.
