Oh, Beth, have fun!! I have Seasons One and Two on DVD. It's my routine to get up early on Saturday mornings to do my ironing, and I always watch WW when I do. I rewatched Celestial Navigation this past weekend and almost wet my pants laughing over CJ and her "woot canaw" and Josh and his secret plan to fight inflation. And almost cried watching In Exelcis Deo, when Mrs. Landingham was talking about her boys. Enjoy, enjoy!! Gina, give the melatonin a try. It's completely natural and has no side effects. Glad you can get to sleep when you have to once school starts. Even though she gets up at 6:30 for school, my daughter STILL has trouble falling asleep at night. From her report card, I'm assuming that she caught up on her sleep in health class this year. Oh, and the Yankees won AGAIN last night, on a homer by Melky Cabrera in the 11th inning!! Cheers all around, please.

Bethie, I'm so sorry! After reading an article regarding it, I decided to make a tribute to Vinny, using several quotes from the story. He's an absolute class guy, the ultimate pro.
Those are the guys you don't like to lose -- substance guys. He's just a good dude.
He was pressing, wanting to do anything he could for the club. Whether he was in a pinch-hitting role, playing defense, whatever you needed, he kept a great attitude. He's a team player.
- closer Trevor Hoffman The strength he had for him ... he was like a grandfather figure for Adrian (Gonzalez - Padres 1B), a calming influence for him.
It's been a pleasure and an honor to manage him.
- manager Bruce Bochy
Vinny's as good a figure on a club as you could ever want. He's so down to earth, for someone who's accomplished what he has. He's really close to Adrian, but he took an active interest in all of us.
Guys like that, you hate to lose. Vinny said his goodbyes this morning, and he seemed fine. He's really strong -- just a good dude, in every way. I hope something happens for him.
- outfielder Ben Johnson Sounds like Bethie picked out a real winner - I wish him the best!

Oh, dear. That is too bad, Beth. Wonder where he'll end up??
I watched a rerun of Oprah yesterday. Seems there was a young boy who lost both legs at 16 due to freakish complications from mono. Oprah, during her Wildest Dreams phase, read many letters written about this boy and how courageous he was, and decided to make his dream of meeting the NY Yankees come true. Donald Trump donated his helicopter to fly my Jeter to the boy's high school and surprised him at a pep rally. Then Jeter flew back to Yankee Stadium with the boy and his parents, had him come back to the locker room, meet all the players and coaches, and Jeter even cleared out his locker and let the boy use it. Then, they took him out to the field and Jeter even played catch with him. They also gave him box seats and he and a bunch of his friends attended the game. I was bawling my eyes out the entire time, even though I've seen this episode before. Even better, by the time the episode originally aired, the boy was using prosthetic legs, and walked onto the stage (albeit with great difficulty) and Oprah gave him $50G for medical bills, and sent him and his family on a cruise. It was too sweet. What an amazing kid he was!!

Things haven't been so swell for my boys. Berkman's been putting up a great fight for RBI leader in the NL, but we're still losing games. We're 3-6 in the second half. I hope they can break out of this and go on a tear... And no, even playing the Mets (with cuties like David Wright, Jose Reyes, and Carlos Beltran) isn't enough to make me happy. :p

Yesterday I finally got see baby Joshua for the first time since he was released from the hospital. Here's a pic of him and his big brother (my buddy) Christopher. Where are my ladies??? We haven't kept this thread going, and it's sinking further and further down.... Thought I'd post this photo: Seems that Jeter is introducing a new male fragrance called "Driven". I thought this was a pretty cute picture of him. The oddest thing is, I actually went on avon.com and couldn't find it, though.

Here is another lady present and accounted for. I believe Gina may be on vacation, not sure. I haven't found much in the way of male conversation since I lost my Vinny. I hardly even watch baseball anymore, unless one of my fantasy teams or players is playing. Plaw would be so pleased..hahaha. All I've been doing is melting in this sweltering heat. The heat index was 105 today, it will be 110 tomorrow and on Thursday. It's supposed to cool down to 90 on Friday. Woo hoo! Nicole is surprised to see I've slipped away from my Phantom obsession...but I've literally watched my West Wing DVD all weekend long. I think I'm up to 16 or something. The last one I watched was the one where Zoe had to tell Charlie they couldn't go to the club opening, and at the end Charlie brings movies and popcorn to her dorm room. Awww. Bartlett cracked me up with his talk down memory lane with Danny in hopes of getting him to reveal his source. Bartlett: You're helping my bodyman woo my daughter? Danny: Anything I can do to help. Bartlett: YOu can leave now. I'll clue Nicole in on Jeter's cologne. If it's out there, she'll find it.

So good to hear from you, Beth. My Yankees were doing so well, just a half game out of first. Then Boston won last night, and they're now losing 1-0 against the Blue Jays, although it is only the top of the 4th inning. I love that episode with Zoey and Charlie! I was really hoping that there would be some resolution to their relationship at the end of the show, but Zoey was nowhere to be seen. That really sucked. I miss WW, since even Bravo hardly shows it. Tonight they showed the episode where Josh, Donna and Toby get left behind by the motorcade and it takes them forever to get back to DC. Josh makes Toby a bet and every time he introduces himself, My name is Toby Zeigler and I work at the White House. Toby could make me laugh every time. On Saturday morning when I was doing my ironing, I watched Celestial Navigation again. That's the one where the president's nominee to the Supreme Court gets arrested for drunk driving and Toby and Sam have to drive to CT to get him out of jail. And CJ has "woot canaw" and Josh invents the secret plan to fight inflation. I almost wet my pants, I was laughing so hard!!

No vacation, gals - just taking a break from the BB...too hard to stay away, though. I want to know where Zia is, though. I miss her! Bethie, baby Joshua is an angel. Thanks for posting those pictures. I had a revelation, by the way. I'm using some school tickets to go see my boys soon, and they're playing the Padres... If only Vinny were still with them. I could've taken some photos, and I would've even been tempted to steal him for you. SB, your boys have fought their way to the top! Can you get them to lower a rope for my boys to climb?

SB, I caught some of the Yankee game today, and I saw something soooo cute...of course, it concerned Jeter. He was standing on deck, waiting to bat, and he was positioned right near the fans. The cameras panned over to him right when this little boy in the crowd was offering him a spray from his water bottle fan. It showed him spraying Jeter, and it was just adorable. Of course, I immediately thought of you. They'd just been discussing how hot it was - can you imagine playing baseball in that kind of weather?! ---- By the way... I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to Roger Clemens! Today, he turns 44, and he currently has a 2.09 ERA. Amazing. I only wish we could give him run support and a reliable bullpen as presents. A tribute to his entire career - regardless of the team.

Congrats to your boys! Oh, it's that stressful time of year, when the playoff race really heats up and "every game counts." (Not that they didn't before...we just finally realize they do! ) Watching the standings, those "magic" elimination numbers...lost are the calm days of spring. My boys got a much-needed win against Arizona today, but we did it our way, leaving everyone on the edge of their seats until the very last out. Our bullpen is going to give me a heart attack one of these days. In Ladies' Thread news, Willy had a great game with 3 hits, 2 RBI, a stolen base, an outfield assist, and his first homer of the season!

SB, I always know to expect it from you. :p Tough game for the boys today - they had plenty of opportunities but couldn't win it. Luckily, Cincinnati also lost, which helps in the WC race...would've helped more to gain a game on them, though. Looks like your boys capitalized on Boston's loss!
