That beautiful piece of music is: Intermezzo by Mascagni. It is also the same piece played in the intro to the movie Raging Bull, in the opening credits.

Composed and belonging originally to the Sicilian Opera Cavelleria Rusticana. Mascagni wrote it long ago. It's an old piece; or so i believe.
