Toodoped: Cheers and stay tuned for more free information.
Toodoped: Cant believe that some posters need to open three different threads so they can advertise their projects, and also talk to themselves with the help of different accounts. What is the world coming to?!

Toodoped: a bird told me that the zipper pants site is slowly going down lol lol lol

Toodoped: Any idiot can face a crisis - it's day to day living that wears you out.
Toodoped: Thanks buddy! We should continue fighting against these lying paying sites and to protect everyone on this forum, especially the younger generation or posters.
Toodoped: these days lots of people that I know lost their families and everything they had because its legit and even youngsters can chip in
Toodoped: Same as the mob paying sites...ppl pay for "Disneyland" and wiki mob stuff, something which they can find it on their own with a simple google search
VanillaLimeCoke: Lousy school violence these days. Not even a 6th of the way through September and we've already had a psychotic violent school shooting.
Toodoped: Word. Few days ago, over here, they caught one teenager with a gun and more than 60 bullets, while going to school. I wonder what was his plan ?!

VanillaLimeCoke: I’m hoping and praying that 2025 will be so much better. …. for real …. Too

I don't understand how watching the movies in VHS is considered watching the "original" or "old school" version. First of all, the DVD shows the movies as they were presented in the theaters, which is what FFC's vision was. The VHS shows them in full screen, which is not how they were intended to be seen. Second, the DVD shows you a much clearer picture, which is how they were shown in the theater. VHS quality goes bad after several viewings, and after a while you're watching a blurry movie.
I don't know much about DVD rot, but the Godfather Trilogy doesn't have it, since I've watched it way more than 10 times. And any one DVD is only put out by one company (Paramount in this case), so it's not like there would be some GF DVDs produced by one company and some produced by another.

Originally posted by Patrick: vhs's have widescreen format and i've never had a VHS go "blurry." when you get a movie that was released the year it came out or before, it's considered the original. it has more value then a dvd released 6 or 7 years later. dvd's didn't come around until 1999 or 2000. Yes, there are some VHS movies that are available in widescreen, but that's a very, very, very small minority of them. For DVD they are considered standard. Tapes do go blurry. The actual "tape" in the tape goes through rollers and is wound and re-wound every time you watch it. The quality will obviously deteriorate over the life of the tape. I have some tapes that I bought in the mid-90s that look like hell. Especially if you watch one scene over and over again. That section of the tape will deteriorate quicker than others. With DVD, it's a laser reading the grooves, so nothing on the DVD is actually getting touched. As for VHS being original, just because it was released in the same year, I wouldn't consider it original. If it's in full screen and up to 40% of the picture is chopped off, that is not original. Why do you think they have that message saying that the movie has been formatted to fit the screen. If they had to format it, then it's not the original version of the movie. Also, you can't get stereo sound with a VHS, but you can on DVD. There is really nothing better about VHS except that it's way cheaper in the stores.

(this is very rare that i need to buy a fvf to replace another. i've only had to do this once.)

I prefer the DVD's but recently purchased the 25th Anniversary Widescreen Edition VHS boxed set because it came with a book, The Godfather Legacy, and a personally autographed certificate from FFC. This set had an MSRP of $149 when it first came out in 1997, but I was lucky enough to grab this one on Ebay for a measly $26...and part 1 and 2 were still sealed.
