Marycas, you know if you didn't have three missed weeks, based on an average of your scores you would have been in the thick of it competing with me Plaw and JG for third at least. And that's with your last pick of 3 bringing your average down. Cardi's another if he didn't miss the first two weeks and week 16 he'd be a competitor too.

Well done DB and Just Lou. Joint winners for the spread game (Lou you must be gutted but DB's strong last week performance) and well done DB for comfortably winning the straight up game.

Congrats, Douche!

And Lou, I guess. Too bad he wussed out and only played one game. It would've been easier to declare one overall winner. :p

Whadya mean I did alright this year? This was my first year playing. I can't wait till next year now I think I can be better.

I can't manage the cap for shit but I'm ok at picking winners and working the spread.

Nice going, DB and MOAAFS. Congrats.

Just as a basis for comparison, it might interest you guys to know that I've been in one of these games for money - $10 a week, about 100 people, $250 weekly prize, $2000 for first place for the season, $1500 for second, etc. - for about 20 years.

I won it twice, finished second once, and had maybe 4-5 other "in the money" finishes.

Anyway, this year's winner had 158.

They guy who finished 15th, the last money spot (except for the bottom 5, who also get something) won $150 with 146 wins.

To put it in another perspective, if you were betting real money and laying the typical 11-10 on every game, you would have had a W-L record of 140-116.

That would translate to a net win of 124 units (140 x 10 for the games you won, minus 124 x 11 for the games you lost).

To break even, you need a winning percentage of .524 (you need to win 11 out of 21).

Your winning percentage was a profitable .547

In other words, if you were betting $1 a game, you would have won $12.40 for the season, at $10 a game you would have won $124, $20 a game would have won you $248, etc.

I know JL is familiar with all of this..... :p

So let's see. I played 14 out of 17 weeks and got 109 pts. for an average of just over 7 points per week. Add 21 to my score and I tied plaw for second, but rounding up, one of those weeks would have been an 8, so I took second place. Cool.
