By far and away the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart has such an influence on manufacturers that many companies (including music and film producers) sell them sanitized versions of their products.
Theres an excellent article on Wal-Mart's power in the October 6th issue of "Business Week".
I can't, and won't, say for sure that their differently packaged version of "The Godfather Trilogy" DVD is an altered or editted set, though.
