So if that makes a difference to you, spend a $100.00 and get the boxed set. Wal-Mart, and its affiliated Sam's Club, sometimes censor some of the movies and music they sell. This one (in different packaging) MIGHT be a sanitized version. Barnes & Noble, a reputable bookstore, has a website from which you can order books, music and movies, and it sells the "Trilogy" DVD set for $67.48. I'm sure there are some cheaper prices around; take the time to look for them.

[/b]I have never heard of them selling "sanitized versions", complete censorship Yes, but to go through the hassle of producing "santized" versions, this is a new one on me. With a 30+ Classic such as the "Godfather" I would doubt very seriously they would alter it at all.

By far and away the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart has such an influence on manufacturers that many companies (including music and film producers) sell them sanitized versions of their products. Theres an excellent article on Wal-Mart's power in the October 6th issue of "Business Week". I can't, and won't, say for sure that their differently packaged version of "The Godfather Trilogy" DVD is an altered or editted set, though.

[/b]There is no doubt in my mind that a company as large as Wal Mart can and does have influence on other companies, but I suspect that basically has to do with pricing. When they buy merchandise in large volumnes, they can get large discounts, and even their own packaging. I dont think the people they do business with are going to compromise the quality of their products for Wal Mart. Since the Godfather films have minimal nudity and language, I really dont see why they would santizie the product. In fact the violence would be the most objectiable parts of the film, and they are quite tame by todays standards.

I got mine for 45 at wal mart.
"Somebody told me when the bomb hits, everybody in a two mile radius will be instantly sublimated, but if you lay face down on the ground for some time, avoiding the residual ripples of heat, you might survive, permanently fucked up and twisted like you're always underwater refracted. But if you do go gas, there's nothing you can do if the air that was once you is mingled and mashed with the kicked up molecules of the enemy's former body. Big-kid-tested, motherf--ker approved."

I heard somewhere that a new DVD collection of the Godfather films are being released next year because the current one right now isnt good
