Going into last nite's games, DC was ahead of you in the standings, so when I wrote down everyone's pitcher for today this morning the final scores weren't in yet. Then when I saw you had passed DC I reversed the two of you in the standings, but didn't reverse your pitching choices. Or something like that. All fixed now.

Zia, we really should start a "Superstition Thread." Maybe we're not the only psychos - I think that would provide some comfort. And if we are, well, at least we've got each other. Last night, I nearly denied myself of checking the fantasy scores during the game, because I was so nervous, but I finally did during some of the commercial breaks. At one break, however, I was in the room with the computer, saw the game was back on and that Oswalt was about to make the first pitch - I literally ran back to the other room I was in, hoping to make it before the delivery. I did, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Then, I realized I was an idiot for believing that it had anything to do with the game. But if I had the chance, I'd do it again, I tell ya! I don't regret it one bit! Those guys are nothing without me...if only they knew what I do for them.

Oh, it's definitely me. The Curse of Pork. Many here remember it all too well, and now you're learning. Take my PS, and you're focked!! UNLESS, however, Plaw takes it, too. For some reason he's often immune... So *my* goal is to predict his PS so I do well.

Harden Have no fear. I'm a victim today of the "Curse of DB's Pitching Staff". Notwithstanding DB's pitching problems in the Yahoo game, in this game.... W-L E.R.A. PTS PPG

Doesn't matter. Harden settled down, and the bullpen saved us, for a +20.
I'll take it.

One of the things I had intended to do before the seaon started was post my predictions along with the "odds" of everyone winning and a few of sentences of "comment and analysis", a la one of those pre-season baseball magazines. For some reason I never got around to it, and then it slipped my mind, but had I done it before the game started, it would have looked something like this: 1 PL 3-1 Out to prove last year was a fluke
2 JL 7-2 This is one of the sports in "MOAAFS"
3 JG 4-1 Finally a legit contender to win title
4 DB 9-2 Could be out of practice
5 GG 10-1 Seems very dedicated, but is that enough?
6 CC 15-1 If she can stay away from the Johnsons.....
7 TM 20-1 MUST avoid those deadly missed days
8 DC 99-1 Only because he told me in advance he'd be
missing a lot of days because of vacations
9 LZ 99-1 Same as above Interestingly, if we leave DC and LZ out of the discussion for the moment (since neither expects to be able to play the full season), the two players I picked for last and next-to-last, TM & CC, are currently first and second, respectively. Saturday Scores & Sunday Standings TM^ 597 Was (36) 44 641 Bos Burkett 2-0 1.29
CC 606 Bos (18) 34 640 Bos
PL 596 Oak (20) 39 635 Bos
DB^ 584 Oak (20) 42 626 Bos
JG 588 NYM (-4) 21 609 Bos
JL^ 543 Was (36) 54 597 NYM Bannister 1-0 2.77
DC 550 StL (21) 31 581 Bos
GG 539 NYM (-4) 22 561 Bos
SC 428 Bos (18) 34 462 Bos
LZ 380 Cle (26) 51 431 Cle Lee 1-0 3.97 Horrible day for the offense yesterday. Fortunately for everyone except himself, the person with the best pitching score, TM with 36, also managed the worst offensive score, with 8. And JL, also with 36 in pitching had one of the worst offensive scores, with 18. And fortunately for themselves, the two with the worst pitching scores, GG and JG with -4, managed the best offensive scores yesterday, with 26 and 25, respectively.

That hurts PL...straight to the core. I'm in second place by 1 lousy point. At least it could be 10 points or so. That just pisses me off.
How about a little less questions and a lot more shut the hell up - Brian Griffin

Sorry...I just call 'em as I see 'em. Nothing would please me more than to see you finish second (to me, of course), though.
