C'mon... It's barely raining over here.

You think that's bad I have a rained out player on my roster. And it's from a team playing in Baltimore and I've known that it was supposed to rain all day today too.

I have to stop watching games where I have the ps. I turned on the SF/Cubs game, it's the top of the 8th and SF is pitching a shut out. 15 minutes later the Cubs score 3 runs.

4 offensive points so far, and all my players are accounted for.

There's not a big enough whine alert to cover that.

Can I join in?

CWS pitching for me.

I forgot Ausmus doesn't catch Wandy.

But, my sacrifice of the Astros PS was what brought us a win today - I realized I'd been jinxing them this whole time I'd had 'em. Good thing I noticed that sooner than later, right?!

Around what was supposed to be game time, the rain was light. In my opinion, they called the game way too early in the day.

Here's a random question for you guys:

Do post-season statistics count in the record books? For example, I'm sure Babe Ruth hit many homeruns during the playoffs - are those counted in 714? Does it vary by sport?

Nope, they don't count. They have seperate records for the Post Season.

And watch, I'll probably get a -30 from my ps and finish with a negative number.

But if this doesn't happen should I feel guilty if I pass plaw, with help from another source? I feel like Barry Bonds.

It was the damn Ambiens.

But it's a looooooong season.

Anyway, to resolve a question from a few days ago....

If you're insterested in the professional linemakers opinions in picking a PS, they did have all the lines for tomorrow's games posted way before 3:00 AM.

Here are some selections:

Code:
Atlanta -165
Wash +145
-

Mets -165
Milw +145
-

Houston -140
Colorado + 125
-

St. Louis -280
Arizona +240
-

San Fran -170
Los Angeles +150
-

Yankees -200
Oakland +170
-

Boston -170
Texas +150
-

W Sox -200
Minn +170
-
I'll update tomorrow before game time if I can.

I'm not by any means suggesting this as something we should actually do - and certainly not because it happens to apply to me (I pride myself in never coming up with ideas simply because they are in my own self-interest), BUT.....

The way I play this game, and they way I'm sure everyone else does, is to first pick a PS and then build my offense around it.

So it's too bad that on a day when someone is accidentally over the salary cap we can't just count that person's pitching points, since regardless of what they would have done to their offense to get under the cap - and they almost just as easily might've gotten more points as fewer - it's pretty much a certainty that their pitching staff would have been the same.

As I say.....just a general comment, not by any means a suggestion.

I'm glad that's not a suggestion. Cuz then I'd have to suggest not waiting 'til the last second to pick a starting lineup.

Yes, it is too bad, but that is the way the game is set up and the pitching staff falls under the same cap as the rest of the team. So I'm not sure what you are actually commenting on or implying.

Are you thinking that even if someone goes over the salary cap, we should still count their pitching points anyway?

Am I thinking that even if someone goes over the salary cap we should count their pitching points anyway?

No....where did I say, imply, or suggest that?

All I'm saying is that because we all pick our teams the same way, it's too bad that we can't, not that we should.

Obviously, I don't know for sure that if one day you or I or anyone else picks a PS and then an offense and then finds ourselves over the cap we won't be so in love with the offense that we wouldn't go back and find a cheaper PS.

In four seasons I've probably done that a handful of times myself.

But in almost every case there's at least one guy on your offense that you're not so in love with that you can't find someone cheaper.

Is this the first time someone fell asleep while picking their team, and went over the cap?

I think Plaw's done it once before... :p

This is why I set up a lineup FIRST THING -- so even if I were to get distracted (e.g., drunk) later on, at least I know most picks will be playing...

Of course, my problem has been trying to get my act together to check my shit before 3AM - which I haven't been able to do too much apparently...

But at least I have a (mostly) valid lineup.

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol
