SC 1517 NYM (09) 22 1539 NYM
LZ 1335 Bos (00) 29 1364 Bos Beckett 4-3 4.70 I'm not by any means suggesting this as something we should actually do - and certainly not because it happens to apply to me (I pride myself in never coming up with ideas simply because they are in my own self-interest), BUT..... The way I play this game, and they way I'm sure everyone else does, is to first pick a PS and then build my offense around it. So it's too bad that on a day when someone is accidentally over the salary cap we can't just count that person's pitching points, since regardless of what they would have done to their offense to get under the cap - and they almost just as easily might've gotten more points as fewer - it's pretty much a certainty that their pitching staff would have been the same. As I say.....just a general comment, not by any means a suggestion.

I'm glad that's not a suggestion. Cuz then I'd have to suggest not waiting 'til the last second to pick a starting lineup.

So I'm not sure what you are actually commenting on or implying.
Are you thinking that even if someone goes over the salary cap, we should still count their pitching points anyway?
Don Cardi Um, what are you not sure of, since it would seem as though you agree with me. Originally posted by plawrence: So it's too bad..... Originally posted by Don Cardi: Yes, it is too bad..... I think what I'm commenting on is pretty clear. Am I thinking that even if someone goes over the salary cap we should count their pitching points anyway? No....where did I say, imply, or suggest that? All I'm saying is that because we all pick our teams the same way, it's too bad that we can't, not that we should. Obviously, I don't know for sure that if one day you or I or anyone else picks a PS and then an offense and then finds ourselves over the cap we won't be so in love with the offense that we wouldn't go back and find a cheaper PS. In four seasons I've probably done that a handful of times myself. But in almost every case there's at least one guy on your offense that you're not so in love with that you can't find someone cheaper.

I think Plaw's done it once before... :p This is why I set up a lineup FIRST THING -- so even if I were to get distracted (e.g., drunk) later on, at least I know most picks will be playing... Of course, my problem has been trying to get my act together to check my shit before 3AM - which I haven't been able to do too much apparently... But at least I have a (mostly) valid lineup.
